When Paul was in his prime, nobody could touch him.
prime Paul
That was why they used to call him the "Paulcuprime"
Indeed!!
@@lapelcelery42 Never heard that but love it!!
Isn't he still in his prime.
I love the rasp in his voice
Yes. Due to years of smoking cigarettes.
@@ceecee8757 Jimmy was a prodigy guitarist... beautiful man both inside and out so was his Brother Jack...Joe English and Denny Laine as well legends...RIP JIMMY.....
his point has considerably deteriorated at this point, compared to 1970. its harder for him to hit high notes from his early songs.
I think he's had quite a few years prior to perfect it.
Probably the reason why his voice got damaged quite early
The most important musician, composer, singer, performer in the last 100 years.
Totaly agree with you Charles !!! Saw him 3 times in Paris Bercy , now Accor hôtel Arena . 3 hours shows each time without any break !! Awesome !! He played twice this masterpiece and Nineteen hundred and eighty five !! That was incredible , the audience was so happy and excited !! Thanks Paul ...

Sir Paul McCartney for sure

In history... According to experts
..
People don't realize this was the last show of the tour. For McCartney to be able to still hit all these notes singing at the END of a tour speaks to his musical abilities. One of the best of all time.
This performance was taken from the 2nd New York show which was a little less than a month before the last show. Also Venus And Mars and Band On The Run are from Seattle
@@tonjametanoia
I was at the Garden on May 14, 1976. Is that the second show?
Yes yes , he’s as professional as ever
that just shows how much of a professional paul is.
He was probably just going off adrenaline at this point. His pipes were never gonna move anything the White Star Line ever produced anyway.
I can't think of another musician who transitioned from the 60s to the 70s as gracefully as Paul did.
Maybe Bob Dylan?
All his songs sounded custom-made to smooth that transition, honestly
What Paul was doing in the 60s led to the 70s. He is one of the geniuses of my time, and I was very blessed to grow up in the greatest part of the rock and roll era. I don't know what comes next. Maybe it will be some kind of computer music era, or another art form altogether.
Elvis?
@@elvispresleydaily3952 he made a comeback moreso a transition
For me, this is the greatest song a husband could sing to his wife. I have so much love and respect for Paul.

Jimmy McCulloch’s guitar playing is something special.
Jimmy was a one of a kind a beautiful man man both inside and out...his Brother Jack who was a drummer had to find him dead in his flat located in London 1979.. We love and miss you Jimmy always RIP JIMMY
@@annaleonardi6299 And his death was open verdict. Enough to say foul play.
Jimmy had a problem with drugs and alcohol. I believe this contributed to his early death. RIP Jimmy.
Another young talent taken by heroine
On an SG, too ! Sound so much drier than a Les Paul.
Written for Linda and released on his 1970 solo album, this song went virtually unnoticed by the mainstream until “covered” by Wings in 1977. Paul originally wrote all the lyrics and played all the instruments on the original track as a tribute to his true love. Finally noticed nearly 8 years later for what it was…..a masterpiece. Thank you Paul and Linda
“Covered”….you’re an idiot….
This live version is best of all, even better than the studio version.
I think both are just as great 🎶🥂
The version on wings over America is better.
Agree 100%.
Agreed.
The Paul & Linda story was one of the great love stories of our time. I'm so sad that he lost her, she was the love of his life. ❤
Maybe I'm amazed at the way I love this song
Love those silly love songs!
And i specially like This one!

Maybe I'm amazed at Paul McCartney!❤
Paul is Alive and I am waiting for McCartney III

Saw him in Hamilton do this and many other great tunes. Seen every Beatle live except for John, my fave. Regret that.

@Barry McHawkiner such a weird way to say it's amazingly good
LINDA MCCARTNEY RIP.
Geez, his voice is incredible here. He really is untouchable.
Listen to Monkberry Moonn Delight - blows away Robert Plant and all rock vocalists with that one!
The original is better imo.
@@davemack7577 nope 😆
Paul sounds great but very weary voice here and not going for the high notes like on the album. Last concert on tour I guess, but I dig the rasp anyway
Can you even fathom paying like $15 dollars to see a show like this back in the day? Crazy to think about.
At that time it was around 7-8 bucks
yes it was quite amazing. i was there. will chrish it forever
General Admission was 10 dollars plus a 1.50 presentation fee. Still a massive bargain. I grew up in the 60s and 70s and saw every big rock show that passed through. Most tickets in the early 70s were 7-8 dollars. It was a wonderful time to see live music. Now, I can’t afford to go and see anyone famous as tickets range from 100-1000 dollars. Luckily I can see concerts on RUclips and I have bought many DVDs with concerts of my favorite artists.
Listen to Paul's Voice. Absolute brilliance!!!
Trying to be Rod Steward Id say if Ya Listen to the Faces Version.,.
@@paullack9025 He was way more versatile than Rod Stewart and sang like this when Stewart was an unknown. Listen to Oh Darling from Abbey Road, or an even earlier example would be Long Tall Sally and his Little Richard impression.
I wsjust having a Laugh.,. Out of the Beatles I Prefer John Lennon and George Harrison as Ex Beatles.,.
@@paullack9025 John Lennon had a good strong voice when he was younger, but that didn't last past the Beatles. It became all nasally and thin -- like him. And George had an interesting folksy style, one style, not versatile. Neither can compare to Paul. They were both lucky to have found him.

This is Paul McCartney at the height of his genius melodic capabilities as a songwriter, musician, and performer.

This song rose Paul into superstardom in his "new" solo career.
Man can he sing perfectly
And he calls upon the raspy side of his voice at will. He’s at his peak here with Wings, including Beatles career.

This is probably one of the greatest love songs ever written. Paul was blessed to have this level of love from Linda. "Ooo, what a lucky man he was," and is.
When pop stars were also musicians...
Lynn Turman ...and artists ...
Lynn Turman The Beatles drove Bobby Rydell, Fabian and others that were similar from radio, none of whom were musicians. The pedulum has swung back and we are in another Fabian type era.
James Dunn I think you summed it up perfectly.

Wow! Paul never sounded better.
If you play "Maybe I'm Amazed" backwards, You'll hear a recipe for a really rippin' Lentil Soup
The Simpsons!
so if you legit to that to the version that plays during the ending credits of that episode you legit do get the recipe. Paul and Linda recorded it and they spliced it into the song in reverse for the simpson appearance.

Still Amazing
Superstar real life super hero icon and in my opinion simply the greatest 60 plus years and still going
GOD of rock and pop music.
Best vocalist and songwriter in the history of pop music. He's a virtuoso on twenty five different instruments and plays fifty all-told. Only played bass while in the Beatles so the others would have something to do. Never bothered learning how to read and write music as he just hears the sound in his head and plays it. A musical genius and freak of nature.
It's Vivian Stanshall.

What is?
Anyway what do you expect from a BEATLES who is part of the Greatest Band in History.
not only pop music, but also rock!
Actually, he played Bass, Acoustic and electric guitars, piano and keyboards...and drums (don't forget the Clavichord and Mellotron) with the Beatles.
This is one of the greatest songs ever written + so is he, and this band 💯 'I was there sitting front row center', Unbelievable! 🙏💓 Rocklove ArtyThan ☆♡☆
f**kg awesome. if it had been on a Beatle album, it would be played all over the world til the end of time. Put it on 'McCartney' it gets forgotten. Discuss.
Who forgot it? Smash hit for McCartney!
Some of his best songs aren't the big hits.
Lynn Turman
Most famous Mccartney on his own song
Stevester Thorpopotomous
actually it wasn't so much a hit until the live version came out, it was never released as a single when McCartney came out in 1970. Interestingly, it was actually recorded in 1969 before the official breakup of the Beatles. It would have been interesting to hear what it would have sounded like as a Beatles song; although, personally, I don't think Paul's version can be improved on.
One of his best songs.
Definitely in the top 5.
McCartney’s top needs more than 5 songs!
@@lluisgonzalezrodriguez4865 I agree, lol.
Top 5 what?

Denny Laine...TRULY one of the underated rock greats...his contributions cannot be ignored!

The purity of his tone. Amazing solo.
This melody. His vocal range. Just everything is perfection. Thank you, Sir Paul, for everything.
the best singer from The Beatles
The entire world owes Paul and family a thank you note.
Paul at his solo best, his voice has the perfect rasp in it from the road 👏

I was only 12 years old. My Dad was on tour w/ Wings. I lived in Kona Hawaii. My Grandpa sent me this Great Double Live Album 💿 ❤️❤️❤️✅👍. Crying So Beautiful All these Years Later Love You Paul Forever Prayers for Linda & Jimmy
Those songs he made in the very early 70's, romantic/opera/rock call that the way you want, were really a new genre and infuenced a LOT of bands back then from Aerosmith to Queen in the following years. I can totally see Freddie singing Live and let die, Jet or or Maybe I'm amazed with a Brian May's solo at the end.
His keyboard playing is amazing...
He wrote so many classics that people take for granted he had the most gifted and versatile voice in rock history.
Not really
That would be Little Richard for me, but certainly Paul is right up there
You mean he has one of.
One of the best and most versatile. Freddy Mercury certainly had an amazing voice and unbeatable range. I’ve seen MCartney in concert, and he is a living legend. Others, like Mercury have amazing voices too.

It is a great solo. Unfortunately it's edited so he must have blown some notes live where what you hear doesn't match the fingers.

Pure rock voice. Maybe I'm Amazed the way I love Paul's voice.
Why is nobody talking about how good this video quality is?
Foryunately you just did! Great observation. Greetings from Brazil.
Too busy being blown away by Paul's voice, to notice, but yea it's good.
Paul could afford to hire professional camera crew and shoot everything on high-quality film, which cost a fortune back in those days.
Looks recorded a couple of months ago
The original recording was professionally filmed on 35mm film. Nobody would do that today, it would be breathtakingly expensive. Everything is digital now.
