Nice days ride getting to know the bike. Agree with you about the Rally Raid kits. Watched an American totally transform the bike into a full dress off road adventure bike with one of those RR kits. Wire wheels including 19" front, bark busters, remote reservoir shocker. I've had some big BMW'S but that looked more at home.
If you get the rally raid bashplate take in consideration if you are going to install any engine guard protection like the givi one. People had to make some adjustments to fit them both and with the givi one there are people complaining about vibrations. I have rally raid bash plate + sw motech (SBL.01.746.10000/B) with a little modification. Ride safe
It feels very solid and it gives a good security feeling and mind peace. I don't do anything extreme but if for some reason I forgot the low ground clearance this bike have, It will protect the carter with no problem. And I like the fact that it don't bolt straight to the engine, therefore on impact it will be better for the engine. I would like it to protect a little more of the sides of the engine because I low sided in gravel and fortunately only suffered scratches in the engine side. It's expensive but for the strong protection it offers, kinda worth it in my opinion.
Hello, really nice video. I didn't get the point from upgrading the CB500x ? the engine is small and probably adding weight will only make it less powerfull, plus the cost of the kits level 1 2 3... the amount of additional cash + CB500X price will comes to a point you better buy yourself an Africa Twin already equipped originally. Only saying, thank-you
Thanks for the comment. Yea the Africa Twin would be a beautiful bike to own. I'm a short rider though. I had a look at one and could barley get on it. The CB500x to me is the best of both worlds, small, light and capable of becoming an "off roader". Its an easy to live with road bike with the ability to make me feel like an "adventure rider", even though i'll probably very rarely go on a trail with it ;)
Thank-you AventureX, I've ignored the fact that short peoples like myself will be challenged to ride an AfricaTwin with the stock seat 870cm/850cm but.... you can get lower seat if needed. or lower the suspensions by 40mm, AfricaTwin have 250mm plenty of ground clearance. thanks to Honda for offering us this lovely delicious CB500x with the 810cm stock seat, i hope in the futur they will offer an CB...X with 65Nm, it will be a lot of fun too. :)
Enjoyed the vid... love the Peak District too. What is your setup regarding recording sound to your go pro session and maybe a vid from you soon showing us the full set up you use to record. That would be a fab topic for us people that have never recorded on the go before.
Mark Horton thanks for the comment. I use the session 5 with Mic adapter and a cheap lav mic. On rides like this I plug an external usb power bank to the unit. Keeps me going for a few hours. I'm due to go to Scotland on Sunday for a few days. The system may evolve during the trip. At some point soonish ill do a video on recording equipment.
For me the small windshield is fine. I’ve tried the Honda tall screen and an additional attachment to deflect air. The small stock screen works best for me.
@@paulcummins5231 I loved the bike, for me it was the ideal balance between commuter, tourer, and adventure off-road. This last year has promoted change in many ways. One of those changes for me was moving home and moving into the next stage of my life. I love bikes, and I love this bike. But for now bikes don’t fit in with my long term life goals. Who knows in the future though.
Nice roads and wonderful scenery for motorcycle driving. Thanks for the video and take care.

Nice one... enjoy your trip. Looking forward to the vid and in the meantime gonna do some research on the Internet.
Does the small windshield offer any wind prote tion ?

Do you still have this bike.
