"When you don't find what you're looking for, you actually can build it" This resonates with me so much. Jo you are so inspiring to me, just to see what you've built and how far you've come. It even hits closer to home as I come from a town very close to Bethel, where you started after leaving Brazil. Just to see how far someone has come, and know that they've started near where I come from, means the world to me.

I think I should start a living in my car vlog channel, because for the first time being homeless while getting paid I also managed to get a car with my own money 😌
DO IT! This a channel that would go viral because it’s unique. Did you hear about that van girl Janelle she gain a million subscriber in a matter of months because when do we ever see a black girl solo living in her van. You living in your car and £££ and how you do life in general would be cool.
Yes do it! Somebody who is really successful, Steve Harvey, used to live in his car for 3 years because he lost everything he loved💔 I believe that this will be you call to success✨
This entire video spoke VOLUMES to me! I got my first job at 14, and ever since, all I’ve done is work. I knew by the time I got my second job, that I DID NOT want to spend the rest of my life growing someone else’s business. I want and have always wanted my own! This video was so encouraging. I can’t wait to watch more of you, and I just SUBSCRIBED ‼️‼️
I finished my Bachelor of Education and graduated recently...however, unemployment has caused me to become very depressed. After a shitty day at my (new) full time job, of which I spent the most time contemplating about my own business plans and wishing I was working on them, instead of sitting in an office, listening to my boss, doing things that make no sense and working over hours for someone else’s wealth... THIS VIDEO WAS MUCH NEEDED, AFTER PLANING MY OWN BUSINESS FOR OVER TWO YEARS NOW! Thanks for the inspiration once again Jo!! Love the content you’ve been putting out on your channel!

You're so Great and Motivating! I always hated the feeling of working for someone and making their dream come true! I ask myself only if I can do it for myself to put in the work reach goals For Myself! Then what holds me back is the lack of commitment and excuses. At last, I have no idea what I'm great at and definately not tech. savvy nor business minded. This stops me from being stuck and depressed!!
Jo, you continuously inspire me to reach my dreams no matter how "unrealistic." As a recent college grad I feel so lost in my day-to-day operations at a desk job. I know this isn't what I'm called to. I'm tired of working for my job. I'm ready for MY JOB TO WORK FOR ME! 🙌
Ugh...thank you so much for this video. This was SO needed and it's so nice to know more of your backstory. I've known from a young age that I wanted to work for myself and own businesses, but lacked the confidence, support and guidance. At damn near 30, I'm just now mustering up the courage to make that dream a reality. It's HARD and so much to learn and retain, but my spirit is so much happier and I feel more comfortable just being myself than I ever have. Looking forward to more videos like these!
Self-employment all the way! Started a Non Profit focused on environmental education in the heart of a food desert to advocate for Food Justice. Don't know when I will leave my full-time but I have a great feeling about this. Needed to watch this video! Thank you
Jo, you're truly an inspiration! You've just given me so much motivation to make the first step towards having my own company! Honestly, until recently I wanted to be an employee - not having the stress of running my own business, BUT I've realized that having your own company (no matter the industry it is in) comes with a lot more freedom, fulfillment and, yes, also stress. Taking the time to think about it, I've decided to start my own company. The only problem is I don't know what or how - but I'll figure it out.
This video was super motivational. I just finished scrolling through jobs and I couldn’t find a single one that I liked. I need to create something for myself!
Jo...when you visit South Africa I will be happy to.show you around...I.am a designer and I'm in the arts...just.discovered you during quarantine....love your energy.
Hi, I am still in high school, and I believe that I can do something that will be bigger and greater than going to college. I stress myself out with the thought that I might not get into college, because of my grades. But then, like other people, that fear is replaced with the thought I might not get a job anywhere, doing something that I like. I am really glad that I found your video. I would like to start up my own online business to sell clothing. I can see it happening, I just don’t know where to start. 😅 But I will never lose faith that someday, I will be running a successful business✨ Thank you so much for this video.
The Art of Mica don’t be naive, go to college or get some form of formal education after high school. I know nowadays the idea of online business got everyone thinking they can do it but nothing will ever replace formal education. School is there to teach you so you can be the best. I’m going to school to eventually be a physical therapist with the hope of owning my own clinic one day because people love me so I might as well do the job for myself. Online isn’t the future because no matter how far we wanna remove ourself from reality, it will always catch up to us. You think I’m 50 years people will be leaving online? No! They will be in the real world, doing real world shit.
“You have to be willing to walk away from everything you think that you can do to step into the unknown because what you don’t know is going to be better than what you do know. You just have to trust that.” Thank You Love✨

Jo you are my soulmate 😊 if we ever meet we would never stop talking 🤣🤣 I own a photography company .. which hasn’t been easy. My dream is to have brand, fashion, and high end real estate clientele. Guess I haven’t thought about what’s bigger than me with my dream. For me.. to break the cycle in my family and show Detroit ...even the world. We can literally be whatever we want to be.
This is very affirming. A few days ago i said goodbye to my home and comfort zone, packed my life in my car and moved to Tennessee. Currently sleeping on my friends couch and living out of my car, I’m working my ass off to get to where i want to go. I have a dream of owning my own production company and being a screenwriter, thriving not only in L.A. (once i get there) but also internationally. It’s tough, it’s draining and at times i want to give up. But i just know it’s gonna be worth it and that my time is on its way.

I have been thinking about my career and business for the greater part of my life. People always say why don't you start the business now? The reason is it requires real estate and investors. They need to see my crediblity to know it is safe to do business with me. I expect the same communication from anyone I partner with. As the world changes my business ideas adapt and I still see the visions of my enterprise.

On this new journey of building my own business. So scary!!! The scariest part for me is that i don't have all the answers. I realized this year i do not want to work for anybody. I get up everyday go to work wait for 6 months to a year to get " a raise." So much politics in the work place. You can give a company your blood sweat and tears and one day they can look at you and let you go. I personally can't live my life relying on companies to put food on my table.
Thank you for sharing. I'm currently in the idea and research phase and figuring out how to fund my business. And kudos to you cause this is STREESSSFFFUUUUULLLLL!!!!!

Love the video! I am slowly realizing after accumulating thousands in loans from undergrad and grad school that I chose the wrong career (photography and filmmaking). While I am an extremely creative person, I believe I chose this career path because I just didn't know what else was out there! Now I hate the career path I've chosen and I realized that I am actually really good at helping people through creative blocks and giving creative advice in general. I still don't know how this will all come together with my career but this video gives me hope that everything will be okay in the end.
Full-Time entrepreneur here...this video is so real lol people think i’m traveling all the time when most of the time my job consist of emails, research, pitching and conference calls lol
I love bringing people together too, i hate working for someone else and I love creating my own things. But I'm 24 and still lost on what to do and how to get to where I want to be. I'm thinking a fragrance company! Or making art or books or music and selling it, but I feel the pressure of life and getting it together. So soul searching is in high drive and I'm in need of direction.
You are so inspiring! I just started working for myself and have been a little terrified, but your attitude and confidence makes me believe that I can do it too :)
I moved to Asia for a year and started to create the groundwork for my own company. I was a personal assistant and sales manager and I'm really good at my work but I HATE working for others. My income is limited and I can do so much more. So I decided to create a virtual assistant company and offer my services to many more people. I got one client but I had to return to America and now I need to finesse a way to get back outta the country so I can afford to build my client base and income. This was helpful and entertaining. I know I can do this! It will just take some time. Maybe in the future I'll be able to hire other virtual assistants and grow my business but it's hard and a slow process.. Thanks for the encouragement!
That toilet thing your grandmother taught you just hit me. I saw this abandoned house and thought it was too beautiful to go to waiste so I talked to all the neighbors I can see out and asked if they knew who owns that house. No one knew. So I googled how to buy it and google said write a yellow letter. So I looked up the address of the owner by looking up the tax records for the house and wrote tue yellow letter. No reply so I googled and YT something else I can to do buy an abandoned house. It said adverse posession i was too scared to do that but kept getting clues along the way to do it. So I just dove in and did it. It was so scary and I felt like I was stealing it but the only other option was to let it waste away and never learn how to do scary things. While fixing it up a neighbor that I havent talked to or met walked over and told me the iwners name and his kids names so I looked them up on fb and got in contact with the only one I could find. His dad is the owner but incapable of caring for homself now the son has POA and agreed to sell me tue house for zero down, $500 mo for a total of $23,000. Im alone. And trying to figure out how to gwt tue roof done, trash hauled out, wondows and doors, plumbing, electric I got an estimate of $10,000 to rewire the whole house which is what I want to do because I want to rent it out make it an asset. I dont want to take chances on anyones lives by having old bad wires anywhere. I love your videos.
I remember we started our blogs around the same time (mine: grenobloise.com), when I moved to France in 2011. I remember you; Jo, sweetly commenting on my blog and that's how I discovered Shut Up & Go. I'm so proud of where you are now! I'm still a struggling as an artist really hoping to figure out how to make it as a painter. I've tried working for people, but it's just not my cup of tea. Working for French people has not been the greatest experience..
I really dont mind my current job, but I do plan on growing an audience on the side and making youtube videos on my weekend days. Its like i dont mind the 9-5 grind right now at least, but I love entertaining people and speaking so building something on the side just makes sense . Currently focused on building my twitter :)

I still don't know how this will all come together with my career but this video gives me hope that everything will be okay in the end.
Yas come through with the Donna Summer Song title😍
Full-Time entrepreneur here...this video is so real lol people think i’m traveling all the time when most of the time my job consist of emails, research, pitching and conference calls lol
IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS CHANNEL!!!

EU SIMPLESMENTE TE AMO.
Right :v perfect transition : SEAMLESS
LOVE this content, thanks Jo!
I really dont mind my current job, but I do plan on growing an audience on the side and making youtube videos on my weekend days. Its like i dont mind the 9-5 grind right now at least, but I love entertaining people and speaking so building something on the side just makes sense . Currently focused on building my twitter :)
