I have had my Sig 556 SWAT for over a decade. I love my rifle. I had the same complaints about the mags. In my 556, the mag release is STRAIGHT M4. I bought mine used in OK and the muzzle has the birdcage, but with a (mind you decade old) QD mount for supression. I LOVE my rifle. Medusa is her name. There are many like her, but she is mine!

This is one of my all time favorite rifles. As a kid I called it a cross between an MP5 and an AK with the ammo of an AR. Boggled my 12 year old mind. Even had the true to life airsoft replica that was broken by my brother...
The Sig 55x series, this is what happens when the pinnacle of swiss engineering and the ak plateforme meet ! Here in Switzerland (where every able bodied man get a Sig 550 during compulsory military training and keep it at home) we like to say that it's an AK47 made by Rolex ! This is by fare one of the best weapon I have been given to shoot.
This is what happens you take an AR and mate it with an AK, and have the Swiss genetically engineer the baby. You get a heavy, overly-hot gun that won't perform as well as the AR or AK.
@@MrDanielWP I'll give you the fact that it gets a little heavy for a 5.56 platform and carying it around all day long is a pain in the ass when you're not used to it. Runnig too hot have never been an issue throughout the 10'000 rounds that have gone through my 550, and in term if performance I haven't got a single malfunction. If you really want to complain about something it would be the price... This is too damn high. You can literally buy 5 good AK for that price.. Good thing thing that mine was given to me for free by my government. But I have to say that outside of military duty I prefer to run a good old AK in 7.62x39 ;)
@@tux268 I'm always skeptical of people who say they shot a nice round figure of 10k rounds, or some such. (Hard to trust people over the internet) Be that as it may, you probably haven't done 500+ round range days on auto to test it. Granted, that would be a very bad day in a real situation, but it's valid test. I put my guns through 6 mags at a minimum on (Non-COVID) range days. I also always do a 500 round dump on new guns to test it for reliability and see what it feels like and how it performs when it's hot. Try a 500 round range session doing shooting drills, like a V drill or 2/2/2 drill, on this rifle and see how it feels. (Don't give it time to cool off.) As for the weight, it's not a matter of getting used to it. You literally have more weight for the same 5.56 round. What's the point of having a gun that weighs 2lbs more to do the same job? That's two extra full mags. That's more water. Or, that's two less pounds to hump. Nevermind that heavier guns are generally slower into action.
@@MrDanielWP Well 10K is just an estimation, which in my opinion is still bellow the actual number. The wast majority of this was made during military training over the last 7 years (Swiss military has a rather unique non professional citizen soldier system) as well civilian training. The fact is, I'm not trying to brag or anything, I'm just trying to give my opinion on this particular platform that I happened to know rather well. I have done some fields day with over 500 round, however I never mag dumped it or done extended full auto session with it as it does not fit the engagement doctrine we have here. I'm a simple infantryman, not some SF death commando storm trooper or whatever so it does not fit my use case. Regarding the weight of the weapon you also need to take into account the philosophy around which this weapon has been created. Switzerland beeing a fairly mountainous country the most of the engagement outside of an urban environment would be at an extended range, thus the weapon has been designed in conjunction with a modified version of the 5,56 nato (5.6 swiss also known as GP90) round to remain fairly accurate at the 300+ meter range (which the original 550 and 551LB do really well). For this reason they chose an heavy barrel judging that accuracy was a bigger advantage than weightlessness. It may or may not have been the wisest choice but it remain coherent with the philosophy. While I clearly am not impartial to it, for me it remains the best weapon I own and I would choose it over any AR every days. But that's mostly personal preferences. I'm sure we can both agree that both AR, sig 55x and AK are really good weapon and the best one remain the one you are trained with and you have handy the day you needs it.
While serving in the swiss army i used the 55x series, it was a very reliable and icredibly acurate weapon. Its still in use in swiss army. It was intoduced to the swiss army 1990 and for that age this lady is still great. I recomend the 553 lb.

Petition to get Flannel Daddy to ghost all future triggers with his guests.
"That spring would pop out."
Man, this was the gun I always wanted daddy to do a review on. I`m in love with these rifles.
I was interested in this rifle since I was like 13 so I`m really happy to see this video.
Was that uncut!? Holy crap you guys are getting good at this!
Hahaha we try
I did it all for the nookie.
So you can take that cookie,,,,

This is by far one of the MOST EPIC intros I have ever seen! Wow
i like the rate of fire and also the way you handle it as if you're shooting a 9mm MP5 so smoothly. Never fired it in real life but I'd always choose this gun in video games
you and trex arms should stream you two playing some cod sometime.
Haha I’m not good at gaming
That’s called a long stroke piston, not direct impingement...
I was going to say... ;)
...If you're into guns, but have no idea about video games, go ahead & hit that like button gents🤙🏿.
Can't believe COD added Free Range Bodybuilders! I don't remember if it appeared here first or Admin. I'm done looking for Idaho in the background. When I last saw it, half the country was covered in snow and there was a Chinese balloon watching you guys
Awesome video Garand Thumb 👍 loving these outdoor interviews 👌
Trans Rights but it's the right to own translucent mags.

Perfect!
I call it gun porn, with swiss quality :P
That intro must have cost a thousand bucks in ammo alone. Bravo
jesus christ how expensive is ammo over there atm?
@@FireDramine7 I think saying at least double what it was is more than fair..nearing a buck a round on many
@@whatsahandleandwhy damn. I just bought 1200 rnds for like 500 bucks. But that's like the price of a 300blk for a 5.56 you're mentioning there. What the hell. Why is that even?
@@FireDramine7 there is a group of people in america who fear guns instead of people. 5.56 for 1000 rounds, $800 right now, best deal according to ammoseek... you can do better locally and such but...ouch. where are you?

Nice video. The trigger play is adjustable if you want it longer or shorter.
This is one of my all time favorite rifles. As a kid I called it a cross between an MP5 and an AK with the ammo of an AR. Boggled my 12 year old mind. Even had the true to life airsoft replica that was broken by my brother...
How the hell did u just get theLoadoutDrop without being sniped??????
(Don't give it time to cool off.)
As for the weight, it's not a matter of getting used to it.
Needs an ACOG on it for the CS:Source feel.
While serving in the swiss army i used the 55x series, it was a very reliable and icredibly acurate weapon. Its still in use in swiss army. It was intoduced to the swiss army 1990 and for that age this lady is still great.
I recomend the 553 lb.
I miss those 556 and its little brother the 522. I have a 522 classic and I will hang on to it. Cool video dudes!
