    Had mine for 3 days absolutely blown away by what it is, i was sat ther using a usb hub which i advise getting btw, i was playing mw3 with my dualsense plugged in getting 120fps, and i realised what technology has become its insane what the ally can do. If u showed the child version of me the ally i would have lost my mind 😂.

    If could please send your Ally back through time to me in 1995 I'd be ever so grateful. The Ally was the kind of device I dreamed about back then. These days, what I really want is a gaming-centric all-in-one device that I can make calls with, take exceptional photos and videos with, has an integrated but removable hall-effect controller, a 13" OLED screen, weighs less than a pound, has all day battery life under a heavy load, probably folds up, charges quickly, can run ray tracing natively at 4K/144Hz, and runs Linux, Windows, and Android interchangeably without needing to restart. Is that too much to ask?

      It is for the cost of an Ally...I'd say get a gaming laptop but you will be paying significantly more and lose portability

      @@mrwalker6026 What you think how long Ally will last? I mean if you built a PC it can last for several years.

    • @mrwalker6026
      @mrwalker6026 3 месяца назад

      @@cloak55733 yeah but it's gonna cost a heck of another more especially if you go an rtx 4070 and up which I recommend and you lose a lot selling parts like gpu's in the future.
      The rtx 4090 gpu alone is worth more than 4x PS5 consoles and we have 5xxx series releasing end of this year.

      it is kinda a lot to ask since all you have stated might cost so much to make. and in terms of business it is not going to sell well because of the price inspite of all the pros and benefits you get. it is just too expensive to be marketable to the big audience targeted.

    • @oo--7714

      "Intergrated but removable" oxymoron.
      Thus guy is just yapping. And a13 inch screen thwt folds up. And you wanna use it as a phone as well as run games in 4k on such a small display.

    The ROG really is a counter to the Steam Deck. It has power, where the Deck does not. It lacks battery, where the Deck does have. It is less nice to be used portable outside of home (mostly due to battery), while the deck is better depending on the game being played. It is better at overall user choice due to it literally just being a windows device. The deck does use Linux, but the SteamOS interface makes it more of a console. And while Linux can be used, it’s still more difficult to do your own things unless you put in a bit more effort to learn.
    Also it’s white.
    Basically, the deck and ally are able to create their own audience due to them doing things better than each other at different things.

    Switch from sleep to hibernate.
    You can change this in the classic power control panel. Select change what the power buttons do, and switch from sleep to hibernate.
    Hibernation takes slightly longer to resume compared to Sleep, but less time than Shutdown/Startup.
    Its also more compatible with games and won't spontaneously wake up like sleep does.

      SteamDeck is easier to run with longer battery, but Ally lets you have PC Game Pass on the handheld with cross save!

      For example.. The power ratio between the two.. The ally is about 5 times faster. HOWEVER... if youre not an FPS snob like me... you would be happy with the steam deck.. I cannot play under 50 fps on single player games. So i had to to ally route.

    • @ilm91
      @ilm91 3 месяца назад +2

      If you already have a Xbox, Ally is the best option. You can play all of your Game Pass Games and there are many Play Anywhere Games, which you buy once and can play on Ally and Xbox
      If your are already a PC Gamer. Steam Deck is the better choice, because you can take your whole Steam Library on Go

    • @morid0
      @morid0 3 месяца назад +4

      Tough one, I got both and love both 😂, they got advantage and disadvantages, ally is superior hardware and 1080p display does make a difference but battery life is non existent if you plan to take full advantage of playing games at best possible settings, you can tweak to make it last longer but steam deck is superior for on the go gaming, if you are like me that only uses it on the couch or bed plugged in, then ally is a no brainer, also damn windows is a pain to deal with but you can play everything with no problem, game pass different launchers other than steam etc (Asus also has been releasing updates to firmware/software so it means they are taking their handheld devices seriously).
      Just be aware there are some SD card issues, I haven't had problems after firmware update and never use turbo mode to avoid overheating and destroying it. Don't forget to get the Z1 extreme version, the non extreme is good but would rather go for a steam deck at that point.
      The steam deck is also amazing and often gets software updates, great battery life and it does magic with it's limited hardware if you want a device for some of the lighter AAA plus indie games/emulation up to PS2/GameCube/Wii and you play a lot on the go the steam deck OLED is king.
      It uses Linux, it easy to get used to but people might not be familiar with it.
      It's also a bit cheaper.

    This thing is incredible, I'm using it mainly to play Dota 2 or CoD Warzone on the regular PC side. But I also just fucking beat Michigan: Report From hell while sitting next to my girl on the couch, at crisp, crisp resolutions with 0 issues. The emulation is just out of this world, it's so powerful. I can play Viewtiful Joe at 10W, chilling in bed - then hook it up to a monitor and get shat on in Warzone. This is beautiful.

    Don't use sleep but hibernate mode. It will temporarily power off ur ally to save battery and you pick up where you left off.

      I did try 1080p, but even with low settings and couldn't get anything I was happy with from Forza. Some of this is a matter of taste, so it'll vary from person to person what looks good I think.
