    I had the Z1 extreme edition but sold it after less than 2 months. Whoever thought of putting the SD card reader near the fans..... just wow is all to say. In addition to the pathetic battery life, it's not even a handheld if you need to keep it plugged in 24 7. That said, it has a beautiful screen and amazing speakers. Big shame really.
    Bought an OLED, set up dual boot, and never looked back.

      How are you finding the oled I am going to pick one up later this year

      @ExpressITTechTips It's been great so far. Setting up dual boot was really annoying as drivers aren't completely out yet, but I got it working and it's been good. Battery life was the main selling point for me. Over 2 hours on games like Destiny on Windows. ROG ALLY was less than an hour on turbo on the same game. Wish it was 1080, but it makes up for it with it being an OLED. Love both the ROG ALLY and OLED, but love the OLED more, haha

      @@y0das998 is windows dual boot good with the oled now?.the wifi and bluetooth? Months before they said that it is not yet compatible to dualboot because it's not yet supported by steamos?.

      @geoffc2954 I downloaded wifi drivers from an unofficial website I found on Reddit and they work perfectly. APU drivers are fine. With regards to the audio, I downloaded the LCD Steam Deck drivers and the audio will only work if you put in headphones. Bluetooth is yet to be released. Dual booting took a while setup especially since there are barely any official driver support, but I got it working. Runs better than I thought and when the drivers come out, it'll be 10x better

    MSI getting roasted everywhere. The Ally in the Skull N Co really makes the difference in comfort for me. Great video!

      Yeah it’s not done much good for itself has it, such a shame as I’m a big fan of msi kit on the whole

    The way the camera is tilted upside down, aka the grid lines squeeze inwards toward the bottom is really disorienting. Just a tip.

    I'm really considering getting an ally. One question though! The thumbsticks and is it prone to drifting and if so can it be fixed?

      Indeed they can be hopefully its a while before I have to change mine but plenty of information out there on how it can be done

      To answer your question from my own experience I only have drift problems playing the division 1 and maybe dragons dogma 2. To remedy this not only did I recalibrate my joysticks I went into steam and input a community controller layout through steam. It helped with my drift issues and gave me tighter controls. Other wise others games I play have no drift issues. Hope that helps.

      You can set your own stick deadzones and anti deadzones within Armoury Crate, also the sticks are fairly easy to replace.

    If the legion go had vrr it would be better the screen is large but its behind in screen tech

      I have both the ally and the legion and I don't notice it not having vrr. Especially with the right settings. Speakers can be improved with software tweaks. Lenovo uses a crap stock audio preset. I downloaded fx sound and it made a huge difference in sound

    So whats the deal with the playstation games - i have a ps5 but looking to get an ally and would love to know how to do the ps games remote (like when i go away) if possible?
    Does anyone know if this is possible? 😊

      100% so I use chiaki for this the deck version. However there will be a video online before this weeks out with another alternative. Freaky timing for the question 🤣. Chiaki is easy to setup really though plenty of good guides online. I’ll record one myself soon. You can use this persons guide on Reddit www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/s/Zsof7bKCYD

      @@ExpressITTechTips thank you so much for the speedy response! 😃 yeh i was looking into the rog as i like casual games and have an older pc and ps5 - i played dragons dogma 2 on ps but want to mod it but not have the hassle pf a pc set up so this rog ally seems to fit the bill! Just love those ps exclusives 🙂

      It’s why I own a ps5 as well just the one which causes some challenges as with my office now in construction it’s getting to play on it so the handhelds and remote play really help

      @@ExpressITTechTips do you find the rog ally almost as powerful as the ps5 in terms of games it can play? From what ive watched it seems like its not far off

    • @ExpressITTechTips
      @ExpressITTechTips  3 месяца назад +1

      Not as powerful no but what you have to consider is consoles can output and display at 4k 120hz or in some cases even 8k. Doesn’t mean that’s smooth sailing though. As most will be running at less than 60fps to achieve those resolutions. When you consider that the rog ally’s point is 1080p and the sliding scale of resolutions from 720p 800p etc in the size screen that the rog has makes it appear as good if not superior at times. In my day handheld gaming was a game boy so we have come a long way. Console gaming is easier. Load the game pick it up off you go. I’d consider it the perfect point for couch gaming. When it comes to devices with a pc architecture behind the scenes then you need to be comfortable with tinkering more but there’s no reason why you can’t get it to feel like it’s outperforming your console even if theoretically it isn’t. Having owned all the major handhelds from steam deck / legion go and rog ally. From a play anything the rog ally is the simplest of the lot. I’m really waiting for Sony or Microsoft to explode into this market as i feel like a missing a market atm.

      I don't think so..has the LeGo and sold it..its not better in terms of ergonomics, way too heavy and cumbersome for a hand-held and the native resolution and even 1200p too demanding..800p looked very bad on the LeGo compared to 720p/900p on the Ally in my experience

      @@mrwalker6026 lol all im hearing is complaints for something that works just fine if anything better, i have small hands, and the legion go is not heavy, nor bad on ergonomics. just admit your a liar and we can move on. i know you are only here in the comments to stir the pot. ya moron.

    • @ExiaQ00
      @ExiaQ00 4 месяца назад +1

      Some of us don’t want a giant clunky machine for a handheld. And the legion space is behind armory crate. Ally has its issues, I.e. batty life and sd card. But in terms of presence and bang for your buck it’s the most well rounded for hard core gamers who only play AAA titles. Everything else I’ll give to steam deck.
