There were two other all women regiments formed with the 588th. The 586th Fighter Regiment and the 587th Dive Bomber regiment. Due to a shortage of trained and qualified female personnel, they soon were forced to become coed regiments.

What isn't said is the reason for why Yavdokiya Reschkavich went out looking for the crash sites of where her girls went down. This was because the Soviet military would not give military service awards and benefits to anyone they knew to be Missing-In-Action (MIA).
The reason is because they would not know if such a person was Killed-In-Action (KIA), had deserted, or had even defected.
Thus, Commissar Reschkavich went out to confirm where her girls went down, so that way a record could be made. In the process, she created the most accurate record of any unit in World War II.
Finally, this story is truly history, as the last Night Witch died in 2017.

    • @Azraeltheangelofdeath
      @Azraeltheangelofdeath Месяц назад

Yeah honestly it really sucks that the soviets would declare anyone not confirmed killed by the enemy as a traitor even if they were POWs, like apparently it's their fault they're now stuck in camps to be used as forced labour and in some case test subjects

    • @skylerdixon6779

The songs I suggested are from different albums with Sabaton! You don't have to react to the songs you've already reacted to, unless you want to of course! You decide of course! It should be fairly easy to find each album with accompanying songs on either RUclips or Spotify! RUclips should have all the videos for all Sabaton's songs! Animated, official videos etc! If you need help/tips, There are many of us in the comment field who can help you if you need help during this journey 😊 It will be very interesting to see and hear what you think of all their songs! If you do this journey!😊 And then when all the albums are finished, Please tell us which is your favorite album!😊🙏 Sabaton is also working on a new album! 😊 Warm and friendly greetings from Johan 😎🇸🇪🇸🇪😎

Found Sab by Bolt Thrower did a Sab cover 'Aces In Exile'.
during Bolt Thrower's War album anniversary United Kingdom 🇬🇧 tours a decade ago!
Sabaton Live Album Bloodstock UK DVD
has a number of hilarious comedy sketch moments 😂
Joakim losing a drunken bet and, as a result, having to walk (342) miles band's next live show 🤣
By this point in their career, it seems as if Sabaton are virtually beyond the near-decade since Primo Victoria, they have seen fit only to consolidate and refine their chosen style, and it doesn't seem as if they'll be having a change of heart anytime soon. With that having been said, 'Heroes' (Album) is a perfectly fitting continuation of the band's legacy. The album's onslaught of fistpumping choruses, overproduced hooks and machismo feels all-too familiar and will surely fail to sell anyone on Sabaton who hadn't bought into them albums ago. In spite of that, it's a formula we were all expecting from them, and they haven't faltered yet. Sabaton, as the saying goes in faux-parlance, holds the fort with this one, and they do it quite well at that. Although Manowar seems to have been largely (and somewhat unfairly) dismissed by contemporary metal listeners for their over-the-top image and self-referential kitsch, they're actually the closest band I'm reminded of while listening to Sabaton. For what it lacks in nuance, this is heavy metal at its most ecstatic and triumphant. Relative to much of the other power I've heard drop in 2014, Heroes is fairly instrumentally conservative by contrast; at the risk of sounding redundant, Sabaton lets the vocals do the talking. Joakim Brodén's voice is far and away the strongest element of the band, with proper enunciation and commanding presence befitting a member of the professional class. Full-bodied harmonies and Brodén's own charisma make the vocals on Heroes a pleasure. Unfortunately, many of the songs feel otherwise bland. Particularly given the band's same-y-ness throughout their career, it's to the album's discredit that so little has changed. "Hearts of Iron" is a standout if I had to pick one, but Sabaton's songwriting here doesn't amount to much more than a bombastic rumble towards a given sing-a-long chorus. It's something I usually only say in the context of rock operas, but to enjoy Heroes to the fullest extent, it helps to read the lyrics. Sabaton's lyrical presentation has never been particularly nuanced or technical, but it's clear they've done their research. Returning to the Manowar comparison; behind the layers of heavy metal pomp and bravado, beyond the context of flashy movies. The lyrical content is the strongest part of Heroes, and they're quite likely the most engaging to be yet heard on a Sabaton album. This is in no small part due to the (slight) change of emphasis in the lyrics- whereas songs on past albums focused on particular. Heroes goes one step further and concerns itself with (in the words of Pär Sundström). I suppose my thoughts towards Heroes are mixed. There's nothing inherently weak about what Sabaton has conjured here, but it's been a long time since the band's sound was fresh. Heroes does not impress or disappoint so much as it continues what was started on albums past. They've stuck to their guns, and who could really fault them for that? For what it's worth, there aren't a great number of power metal acts who can boast a distinctive sound. Sabaton are among the few. It's just a pity they've never pushed the limits with it.I had my reservations coming into this album with it being the first sabaton record without the original members besides Joakim. As it turns out, Joakim was the heart of the band anyways. This feels and sounds like classic sabaton. The riffs are still fun, the compositions anthemic, and of course the vocals have remained up to their usual quality. I could not tell that any change in lineup occurred before this album. This isn't all good though. I'm happy that the band didn't drastically change or decrease in quality but these tracks sound like all the other sabaton tracks. The guitars still duel and the drums still drive marching rhythms. Its a fun time all around and I guess sabaton aren't a band that i expect much diversity from but i'd still like if they did it now and then. Regardless, a great album and a good showing that they can still be just as good wit only Joakim at the helm.Sabaton was a band I didn't care much for even just some years ago. Somehow this band has managed to grow on me during the last few years, and hearing the band had a new album coming had me eagerly waiting for it. And this time I didn't have to get disappointed in any way. The band are solid as ever with a good sound and variety to the material of the album. There's kind of a more mature sounding power metal to this release than some of their earlier more "basic" power metal things. Lots of good melodies and smooth riffs combined with good elements from symphonic metal and some of the melodies are almost like from classical music, but played through guitar melodies. To me it seems the band has a found a new gear, with new inspiration and more energy than in a good while, and manage to use this in a very good way.Cheese-ridden power metal, soaked in terrible lyrics and dramatic symphonic elements, but it is a lot of fun. Best part about this album is the deep vocals, as opposed to the operatic vocals I’m used to from power metal. Favourite track here is probably “The Ballad Of Bull”, even if it is only to do with that wonderful piano part. There are a couple of unique moments/experimentations on this album. There's the folky To Hell and Back. There's the pounding vocals on Far From the Fame. There's also the song Ballad of the Bull, (obviously) a ballad but it's unlike any ballad the band have done and wouldn't be too out of place on any UK CD emport."Heroes" is an excellent album. you'll like this album.Few bands of this genre have pulled off such a dramatic rise to stardom as Sabaton in the past half a decade. I'm not saying they are undeserving - quite the opposite. Sabaton achieve what (so far) no power metal band has done, personally, with the likes of Bolt Thrower and Warbringer singing about almost nothing elser. Joakim & co. This album takes a conceptually different approach to any other release, nothing has changed in the Sabaton formula. They've taken the Black Sabbath approach to their career: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The songs are still accessible and drive hard, revolving around the superb choruses...of which there are a plethora! Since discovering Sabaton, each of their albums has brought a slight curse. All the songs seemed to meld into one epic-sounding mass of choral grandeur, and it would take repeated listens to distinguish one song from the next. But each song on "Heroes" transfers its own identity - probably coinciding with the specific stories each song has to tell. This ensured that each track made its mark on my mind instantly - making this Sabaton's most accessible work to date. The sheer consistency of this album almost prevents me from dissecting the highlights simply cannot be denied. It's always been my opinion that Sabaton's slow songs are their best; and "Inmate 4859" carries with it an evil, menacing stomp which proves my theory. "To Hell And Back" and "Resist And Bite" are perhaps the catchiest of the album, containing irresistible melodies that reek of glory and prestige. And "The Ballad of Bull" is utterly gorgeous - There really isn't much more to say. If you're already a fan of Sabaton, you probably own this album by now. But if you are still on the fence, "Heroes" will undoubtedly convince you. With its realistic orchestral keyboards, supreme power, and an aura of respectful recognition, "Heroes" is a marvel of the genre - possibly Sabaton's best. Brief, but truly remarkable.Even a diehard fan of Sabaton like myself can understand where a song on this album might come from, and for me, it kind of ruins much of the songs on here. That's due to the fact that pretty much every song on "Heroes" takes something from songs off of previous albums, whether it be a riff, a melody, or even an entire song. Not even kidding. The worst cases of this can be found in "No Bullets Fly", The melodies of the verses are shockingly similar, as are those of the choruses. And to further exploit their more original creation of previous years, they've even got the same tempo, and are even in the same key! Listen to both of those songs, and tell me again how "No Bullets Fly" is more original. You'd think that they were both the exact same song, well guess what - they are. Another song that has this problem, but is more enjoyable, since it also has some differences that don't concern the lyrics is "Resist and Bite". It's at a different key than the song "Into the Fire" from "Primo Victoria", yet the pace is the same, and there's a pivoting riff at the beginning that makes up the main riff of the song. The choruses from both songs are also different, so despite the recycling, I'll give "Resist and Bite" a free pass, also 'cos I like that one.Overall, while 'Heroes' is not Sabaton’s best album to date and sits somewhere in the middle.

I was taught more trivia about the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki than anything relevant or noteworthy about that entire war until I went to college, and then I learned more about its place in historical development, its geopolitical causes and effects, and relevance to current events since graduating than in all classes combined by reading and joining political discussion groups.

@@noracola5285 I guess it depends on school and country. In Sweden we learn about the European theater alot and why everything happend and all that. Its not that many dates, more names and why. Most of our education is to know how and why it started. We went to Poland to camps and had alot of days out where we went around and looked at memorials and places.
Well, just to answer you on "Who gives a shit?", some people do, some people like to know the history. History classes in school are a introduction, just like any other subject in school is. And why you learn the names of the ships? I have no idea since im not American. Here we learn who discovered America first, and it was not Colombus. Other than that we dont really learn about America except some politic stuff. But i see your point, its kinda the same as we learn about our ancestors way way back and how Sweden became a thing. Alot of people really dont give a fuck. But, its still nice to know.

Now to the Night Witches, give respect where it was due.

The biggest reason stuff like this isn't taught in schools is because it's about women. The 2nd reason is because it is Soviet history (which you'd be lucky to hear anything about in the U.S.). Luckily, times are changing and stories like this are coming to light.
