This show was the Woodstock Festival in Poland 2012 with around 600 000 people in the crowd. Hannes (The drummer) joined in 2013, Tommy joined in 2016 replacing Thobbe who now replaced Tommy. This also the first year with Chris in the band.
This was recorded for the DVD "Swedish Empire live' in 2013 from the tour for Sabaton's 2012 album 'Carolus Rex'... The core of Sabaton has always been the duo of Par Sundstrom (bass) and Joakim Broden (vocals + keyboards) ... but the rest of the band line-up quit in 2012 as 'Carolus Rex' was finished... This was actually the first recording of the new Sabaton line-up w/ Chris Rorland (guitar), Thobbe Englund (guitar) and touring drummer Robban Back.... Hannes Van Dahl (drums) joined soon after for the album 'Heroes' in 2014 and appeared on the next live CD/DVD 'Heroes on tour' in 2016. Tommy Johansson (guitar) replaced Thobbe Englund in 2017 while Sabaton was touring for 'The Last stand' album. After Tommy Johansson left Sabaton in 2023, Thobbe Englund (guitar) announced that he was back in the band.
"As the German Wehrmacht invaded France in 1940, Erwin Rommel and his 7th Panzer Division set a new record for the longest thrust in one day, covering 200 miles. Not even the German High Command could keep track of where they were located at all times during the French campaign due to their speed and their ability to appear where least expected. They were given the name: Ghost Division." - Historic fact about the song "In "Ghost Division" we wrote about the armored division under command of Erwin Rommel. The guy was not an avid Nazi, he just followed orders, and at the same time he was a great commander who could show a lot of respect to the opponent and his soldiers. I think he managed to remain human after all. Even if he fought on the 'wrong side.' " - Pär "Rommel was never accused of any war crimes. He wasn't part of The Final Solution or the Holocaust. He was a general doing his job, a very good soldier and commander. And when the Nazis forced him to commit suicide, even Winston Churchill said that the British now lost their last gentlemanly opponent." - Joakim
Rommel was put on top10 list of best dressed men of the 20th century by Times magazine. Was very controversial to say the least, but Rommel as you said wasn't a nazi, he was a general following orders from high command. Even took part in at least one coup attempted to get rid of Hitler.
Rommel was always a big fan of Hitler and his 7th division was accused of shooting French POWs among other war crimes. And Rommel commanding skills are questionable. He was great division level commander and good korps commander but nothing more than that. When he got Army and then Army Group under his command he failed miserably
@@globus9710 He wanted Hitler arrested and was suspected of trying to help assassinate Hitler. He is well known for refusing orders that were criminal or horrendous. Don't go around slandering a man you clearly don't know about. He was a well respected General and Leader, there's nothing questionable about it.
@@globus9710 He ordered the shooting of one French soldier who was refusing to surrender and cooperate. He never had POWs shot. All the stuff in Africa he was accused of has also been debunked as having happened under other commanders not Rommel.
Again the 3 ladies having a good time watching some of my favourite music, everything i wanted to say about song and band has already been said so ty for the reaction.
Funny story. I saw them live during what I think was their first US tour. It was before they became as big as they are now. Their energy and sound really got the crowd going. Joakim was as energetic as always. At one point during the show, he split his pants doing one of those low stretches he does. They had to duck tape his pants back together for the rest of the show, but they kept going. They really love their fans and I'm glad they've made it.
Was this the tour with Accept? The last show of tour was in Houston. At the end of their set, the drummer threw most of his drum kit in the crowd. Then they pranked Accept by dressing in tutus and tiaras and prancing across the stage during Princess of the Dawn. I posted video on RUclips. Search for "Sabaton pranks Accept." During Accept's encore, they threw beach balls in the crowd for Balls to the Wall.
this performance is from 2012 Woodstock Festival, Poland. I stand corrected if I'm wrong on this, but I believe this performance, the conert itself, was om celebration of their 20th (?) year as a band at this point. Tommy joined in 2015 and just recently announced his (positive) departure from the band to focus more on his solo career as well as with his own band Majestica. I'll see Sabaton next month, opening for Judas Priest.
Sabaton is actually celebrating 25 year anniversary!!! 🥳 Hannes joined the band in 2014, Tommy in 2016. After 7 years Tommy decided to leave and focus on his own career. The guitar player to pick up the lead guitar after him, was the guy in this video, Thobbe! Also an awesome guitar player as you obviously noticed. 😃
Always a joy to see you ladies watch Sabaton. I can strongly recommend checking out their sabaton history channel. Love to see you do one of the video's there. Thanks and see you soon.

Pretty good example, why it is Schlager Metal. 🙄But sometimes stuff like Schlager can be fun too. And there is the next eternal dilemma with this band...how fit Schlager and war and is it okay to have fun within these benchmarks? Everybody decides for his own of course. For myself: I cannot listen to Sabaton at home or in my car anymore. But live or when a goo'old song from the earlier years (carolus rex and before) appears on a party playlist, there still is no halt! 😎
