I remember an interview with a surviving Night Witch. She was proud of the title and spoke fondly of a girl who had survived several flights out. Queens. Every last one of them.
Their commander went to go find them, as they were considered traitors and defectors, since they never came home.
She managed to find them all, accomplishing her goal before she passed.

I think a video format where you react to both music and Sabaton history in one video would be really cool. Plus you would be watching Sabaton history while still being in the mindset the song puts you in.

Great reaction. Good to see more reactors looking at the story behind the song. And props to Sabton for not only creating music that tells these incredible and often unknown stories but also for supporting their history channel.

One thing that these ladies did that was truly balls out nuts was during their bombing runs which of course were low and
well extremely slow sometimes the bomb would not release thus necessitating the navigator having to crawl out on the
wing and release it by hand. The amount of courage it took to do that has to be immense.

Sabaton! History! Sabaton History! Love when you do reactions/learning with Sabaton and I’d love to see content on the Yarn Hub animated stories. I enjoy your videos. Thank you for the great content.

The history behind this song is truly amazing, badass women!!!
Do the animated story if you want, but now you know the history.
I would like to suggest a song about another hero. The song is Inmate 4859 and tells the story of Polish Witold Pilecki.

I would love if you did Great War (The song and history video). It’s my favorite Sabaton song and imo, one of their most poetic and poignant. It is inspired by the battle of Passchendale, but is really about all of wwi and all war in general. It tells the story of a soldier questioning their purpose and whether their sacrifice is worth it

Hi kit. Just letting you know that Sabaton history has a part 2 for this song. It focuses on female soldiers fighting in WW2.
There are some of these episodes that have more than one episode devoted to it like the Soldier of 3 Armies, it has three separate Sabaton history chapters to it because he did fight in three armies as such there is a episode dedicated to each army.

Communism, lots of women in the military. China and North Korea do it too. Probably why American male dominated society doesn't like them.

Technically it was a communist ideal. There is a big empasis on equality between men and women in there so this was in some ways a token political move.

@@tanktop8572 cool! I haven't seen Floor yet, but a friend met her a couple of times at the same supermarket. He used to work there and she had packages from her record label delivered to her that he handed over. My brother saw her and her daughter at McDonald's last year too.
Floor and Hannes live about 10-15 minutes away from where I live so I have high hopes to see her one day too. 😀

Stopping to comment here about the history channels. I'm a big fan of Fall of Civilizations, I need to watch more Hardcore History (Dan Davis). For quick overviews Oversimplified is pretty great. For one REALLY QUICK overview, history of the world (I guess) is pretty great. If you like ancient history I can give you another podcast.

I mean the animated story video is just shorten, less informative combination of history behind the song and a music video, so seeing that you already reacted to the song and sabaton history I don't really see the point of wasting an upload on it. However for the future reactions whenever you have a choice between lyric video and animated story video, go for the animated one with subtitles on.

The night witches were not onlt known by that name (nachthexen to the Germans) but the Soviets affectionately referred to them as their "Swallows"

you must understand that if the Nazis had captured the night witch alive, then nothing good would have awaited her. You can imagine what can be done to a woman on the battlefield, and even the one who bombed you at night.
