      Don't mean to be rude, I'm really just curious cos when I watch Breaking Bad, I can understand the intense plot being amazing. First and second seasons, I mean I've kind of forgotten but s4 is unbelievably good and then s5 is unquestionably, you know, great. But lost I can understand thinking s6 is fantastic, and as a result appreciating the continuing storyline, but I honestly thought s1 and a few others were boring as heck. No offence, just curious as to what exactly people see in the first season, for example, of Lost. Thanks

      I am in this camp of people being ecstatic about S1 and S2 of lost. (also enjoyed BB) This looks like this:
      You have a series with ~15 characters described with great depth (24 episodes/S with their flashbacks, great writing and actors). All of them have completely different life stories, approaches, personalities and goals. They get thrown into some indescribable land, where things go unexpected, where they get challenged all the time. It makes them interact and create bonds, which you observe as they dialogue, argue, inspire each other and so on. All of it is done top notch - top music, top dialogues, top acting. And that's basically it - you get attached to the great personalities of the characters and hence start to love the show.

    I know no one will probably ever read this or care, but I have PTSD. John's story here is one of a few things I have memorized to recite in my head; it helps me if I'm having symptoms of my mental health issues. Idk man. That's pretty good writing and acting right there. 😂 It's helped me so much. Because it really is okay to just be still and to watch and observe life and stretch your imagination. It's a beautiful thing. My narcissistic abuser was wrong, and this story always helps me remember that. It reminds me of who I am.

      I love LOST, but what the writers did with Locke was a complete mess IMO. They killed him off and then probably thought that people wanted more Locke, so his body came back as a mere recipient of the Man in Black. Just ... WHY? That is almost an insult to such a great and interesting character. If Locke would have become evil himself I would have respected it more. Otherwise there was no point for MIB looking like him at all.

    • @therebel4332
      @therebel4332 5 лет назад

    • @wzupfk
      @wzupfk 5 лет назад +7

      MimM Strongly disagree. The MIB was everything John Locke wasn’t. They were polar opposites and the fact that the MIB used his character to try to get in the heads of the remaining candidates was very meaningful. If Locke didn’t die, Jack would not have gained a sense of purpose and would never had fulfilled his destiny. Beautiful storytelling.

    • @mikebliss3153
      @mikebliss3153 5 лет назад +2

      @@wzupfk Glad someone gets it.
      Don't forget that Locke basically sacrificed everything that he was destined to be and worked so hard to become (Leader of the Others, and potentially Protector of the Island by proxy) all so that Jack could have it. Locke realized that not only was Jack more capable, but that Jack needed it more. And when Jack finally realized it, too: he knew exactly where to give the credit.
      "You are not John Locke, you disrespect his memory by wearing his face, but you’re nothing like him, turns out he was right about most everything. I just wish I could have told him when he was still alive."
      That's real strength.
