I love these "100 years of" videos but this one was awful. No dolphin tattoo on the ankle? No mention of the full chest pieces of the 20s were hidden usually? Barbed wire around the arm?

This video was kinda weird. It's "100 years of tattoos" not "100 years of pinterest tattoo trends". Where's the mention of indigenous cultural tattoos? Tattoo genres? Regional popularity? Just seems very misleading and only scratches the mainstream surface of the body mod industry.

Oh come on... Heart with ribbon over it? Mom? Skull and roses? Barbed wire? Tribal arm/neck tattoo? Chinese characters? The dolphin craze? The dragonfly? Lotus? Infinity symbol? There are much more classic examples than the ones they showed.

Things they missed: knuckle tats of the 2000s and 2010s, common face tattoos of the 2010s, neck tatts of pretty much any era, sleeves of the 2000s and 2010s, barbed wire tattoos of the 2000s.

This is a good start, but I really wish people would learn the broader history of tattoos, because it's so vast and interesting!! Even in just looking at the last 100 years, you're missing a whole lot in this video... Long before they were fashionable and trendy, they were full of deeply rooted cultural significance (I am thinking of particularly South Asia and parts of Africa - for instance, the Berber women of Algeria, whose tattoos carried cosmetic and therapeutic values). Even the swallow tattoo has far greater significance than just a "feminine" design. Furthermore, there are so many examples of tattoo use in counter-culture or protest movements - Russian prisons are a great example of a large scale tattoo "movement" ripe with significance. Tattoos are so awesome!
