    This game brings a lot of nostalgia to me..every time I played it, I'm in a different stage in my life, and as a result, none of my Forest Frontiers park are the same (all sorts of metrics) despite all of them achieved the objectives.. The park itself is a reflection of how my mind thinks, and also to the extent of how I have matured over the years as a person

      I totally feel that - I've lost track of how many times I've done Forest Frontiers, it would be interesting to somehow see them all next to each other!

    I got a good laugh when you didn’t pause the game to change the operating mode later in the video after giving that as one of the first tips lol

    I honestly did not know about the covered rides tip. I always just assumed anything above ground would be considered 'uncovered' and guests would not ride it. Great video! Some good info in here

      Much appreciated! Glad you found it useful. I mean rain isn't that frequent in most scenarios so its not really the biggest deal, but there are a few cold/wet climate scenarios lurking about

    1. I pause a TON when I play RCT lol. I spend most of my time playing with the game paused, when deciding my next action, choosing rides, etc. I like to not lose time if it's unnecessary.
    2. I tend to use a few security guards in my parks, only in high-traffic areas or places that may end up littered quickly. These seem to be the places where vandalism occurs the quickest. I'll also use entertainers, but only in queue lines that have a long wait as they keep guests from getting disgruntled. Setting zones for employees is always the way to go!
    3. Always a good idea to start with a cheap coaster! I usually do 1-3 shops/stalls, 2-4 bathrooms (depending on path layout and map size), 2-3 flat rides (at least 1 gentle and 1 thrill ride), and a small coaster. This is default, every scenario that doesn't start with rides/stalls. Once those are laid out and running, I start planning my park.
    6-7. Though I had learned the covered ride trick, I wasn't aware that the same applies to roller coasters built underground. That's a neat hack!
    Thanks for the useful tips!

      Really interesting to hear your perspective on these tips - you're right on number 2, guests only turn into 'vandals' where there is extremely dirty path. Cheers!

      I, too, live life on the pause button! I do find that just hiring more handymen to keep the paths clean and making their zones smaller, especially in areas with more vomit-inducing rides, is more effective than ever worrying about hiring security guards.
      Also, placing lots of benches and trash cans so guests can recover from nausea and have somewhere close to throw their trash away before they give up and litter is key. Lots of benches near a coaster exit is key. I've also noticed nauseous guests will quell their nausea by buying food and of course using the bathroom, so bathrooms and food stalls near big ride exits is key.
      I've also noticed that guests aren't even really that hungry for the first month or so of a scenario and not thirsty for another month or so after that. Even with increasing concession prices from the preset ones to where the profit per sale is $1.00 which is also a price that guests don't complain about, it takes hundreds of sales for that stall to recoup its initial cost of ~$300.
      So early on in scenarios I only build like 2 food stalls quite spread out from each other so they're not competing for sales. Fries and popcorn seem to be the best because they have the highest profit margin and make guests thirsty.
      Have fun, mate!

    You fail to mention entertainers make people forget long waiting queues at rides :)

      Yeah I only learnt about that just recently! It's a real game-changer! I might have to make a sequel with some more tips one day haha

      TV screens in the queue lines do the same thing but are a cheap one-time expense.

    Thank you for these! I just recently found my deluxe RCT cd and so excited to getting back into the game but have been looking for tips and ideas. I think I better understand how to get more out of the game and how things work. Thank you.

      You're welcome! That's great that you found your old CD! I recently (around this time last year) re-discovered the game myself after not playing it for years and have been hooked again since! Glad you found the video useful, hope you enjoy getting back into it!

      @@MickanMansRCTStation ok something I don’t get still is just how to increase excitement rating for coaster designs lol??!! I made some successful ones but a lot more I’d get low excitement and high intense and nausea ? Which is so frustrating then no one rides!! Lol. Still practicing.

    • @MickanMansRCTStation
      @MickanMansRCTStation  3 года назад +1

      @@aaronying4989 the most common reason is high lateral g forces. If you look at your lateral gs in the stats/ratings tab, having over 2.80g causes large penalties on excitement ratings and super high intensity /nausea. Check to see if there are any unbanked turns that it's taking too fast (all it takes is one turn to ruin the stats!) and consider either banking those turns, or reducing the speed with a rise or brake just before that turn. Having the coaster going too fast through inversions will also cause very high intensities so check that too! Good luck, keep at it!

      @@MickanMansRCTStation Andrew thank you so much I’m getting it now!! Lol it’s making more sense to me. Getting better lol. I’m understanding more how you actually feel in a ride with a sharp turn for example. It helps. Correcting my banked turns! I also never knew about pausing before resetting a ride but that also really helps.

    Strongly disagree on entertainers if you've got a busy park. The unhappiness from overcrowding can tank your guest rating or even worse: they'll leave and you'll fail your guest count requirement.

    • @MickanMansRCTStation
      @MickanMansRCTStation  5 месяцев назад +1

      Totally fair - when I made this video I don't think I really grasped the power of entertainers in a crowded park. Whilst I would perhaps still argue however that overcrowding can be dealt with a number of other ways (in most scenarios), eg extra queue line, they certainly are higher value staff than security guards.

    This is great but what about the pay-per entry parks where making money is extremely difficult without spamming rides.

    • @MickanMansRCTStation
      @MickanMansRCTStation  2 года назад +4

      I'm actually working on another video with tips specific to 'pay per entry' scenarios. You're right though, they can be very tricky when they require large guest counts

    • @jefffinkbonner9551
      @jefffinkbonner9551 Год назад

      Well, you kinda want guests to scram, and concessions don't even make that much money, so as long as guest happiness doesn't make your park rating dip below 600 around the end of the scenario, you can basically see to it that your guests are poor and miserable hahahaha! Then around 2 months before the scenario is over you can spruce things up to bring your park rating up to snuff.
