It is worth noting that the Enterprise, Motion Simulator and 3D Cinema are all considered "indoor" for the purpose of guests wanting to ride them in the rain.
Indeed. This is why they're actually the best in my opinion because as someone who charges for both park and ride fees I always charge around 1 to 1.5 dollars for thrill and gentle rides. They also tend to have little to no nausea (not the Enterprise) which is a plus.
Also, you can easily make the launched freefall and roto-drop indoor by placing a single scenery item on top of the tower (except for the beheaded roto-drop).
@edntz Yes. You have to place it before testing. You can remove it after the stats come out as long as you don't reset the stats by changing the launch speed or doing construction.
I've been on Twists/Scramblers IRL. There's nothing boring about riding them, which makes it all the more confusing as to why its stats are so low. It's still among the obligatory rides that I tend to add to my parks anyway, much like the Merry Go Round. Even if it's not great stat-wise, it's hard to resist building at least one.
The first ride in every park I ever built was a Merry go Round. (If it started empty.) It's just so satisfying to listen to that music while building everything else.
I get the same with the swinging ships. I've seen a lot of swinging ships that are very small, and definately wouldn't qualify as a thrill. But take a big one, like the one from Efteling, and you have a legitimately good experience for such a basic concept. But I guess that RCT just wasn't built that sort of variables in mind.
1) Tax code: an in depth historical review 2) Focus group for Oatmeal, extra plain flavor 3) Legendary beef between Egyptologists: was N/S used for aligning the pyramids or E/W?

One of the reasons that putting 3 pieces above the station on the roto-drop is so much better than 4 pieces is that it will rotate at the top until it has completed a whole number of rotations. With 3 pieces, it gets to the top just before 1 rotation is complete and drops almost immediately. With 4 pieces, it gets to the top just after 1 rotation is complete, so it must rotate a lot longer until 2 rotations.

In defense of the Twist vs the 3D Cinema, I would say the main reason the Twist feels generic is because it is in almost every scenario, so if you play a lot of them you get tired of seeing it. But the Twist at least does have an animation of guests being moved around, while the 3D Cinema is just a static ball and you can't even see any difference when it's on vs. off. It doesn't even move the building itself around like the Motion Simulator.
The Twist is also a _very_ common type of attraction at parks and fairs around the world, so building one in your park in RCT2 can help add realism to it. It was never my favourite ride at any carnival, but I always liked it enough to ride it at least once.
I think they could at least show some blinking lights or something when the 3D cinema is running. I wish it had more to offer because I like the ride itself.
@@reillywalker195 To add even more realism the twist should have a chance of guest loosing a random amount of cash and stuff they've bought in your park. Maybe it was the invention of smartphones what saved them from extinction irl

Huh, all this made me realise is that food stalls don't make nearly enough money. Though admittedly I don't know their running cost in-game, in real life the profit margin on food especially in an amusement park is crazy high, those things basically print money to an extent.
"I walked in with $200. How can I be out of money?! I spent $100 on entry, and... oh, right - $25 for a hot dog, another $25 for a can of soda, and $50 for this stupid T-shirt."
Those stupid dole pineapple whips at Disneyland are fucking good but theyre hollow on the inside so they look bigger than they are to guests who see other guests walking by and enjoying them. Its like 1 ice cream cones worth of frozen treat and when i went in 2011 it cost 8 bucks
Running costs for food stalls basically consist of the cost of the food, and the percentage markup is pretty high. A slice of pizza costs $0.60 to make, and sells for $2.10 in most conditions, for a 250% markup. (In cold weather, the pizza sells for $2.50--a 333% markup--but I wouldn't recommend counting on this unless you're willing to micromanage to that degree, or you have the Price Manager plugin for OpenRCT2.)
I always loved the 3D cinema because RCT’s biggest weakness is lack of shows, which any proper theme park should have. It’s basically the only way to simulate a show for practical effect and not feel like you’re building an empty building for no reason.
I personally love the Go-karts! I tend to play more on "creative" mode, so I don't worry about money - just stats and looks. And you can get some pretty good stats, with low intensity and nausea but high excitement if you are creative on your design. The 3D cinema is also a nice ride to have for rainy days where guests want to avoid open rides.
That video would surely be a viral hit if he did it. I'm pretty sure that's one of the main things roller coaster tycoon is known for in the first place: the crashes.
The powered launch coasters are definitely the coolest (and easiest) to crash, plus you can aim them wherever you want. The dinghy slide and haunted mansion ride are pretty fun but rely on specific scenarios (going to fast over a hill/around a corner) so you're kind of limited, plus you need to complete the circuit to get them to run which limits your ability to build. Most of the rest of the coasters can only crash after a station brakes failure or after failing to get over a lift hill, which are both pretty lame. The air powered vertical coaster has a pretty funny bug that I found out about accidentally where if you link a slope up to vertical (or slope to level) piece to a banked straight piece, the coaster will consider that to be a "complete circuit" yet when launched the coaster will crash at that spot.
@@TheTdw2000 For the record, "haunted mansion ride" should probably be referred to as the Ghost Train or Tunnel of Horror so that people don't confuse it with the stationary Haunted Mansion. Wow just came across this channel. I loved playing RCT1 as a kid, and played occasionally throughout the years. This man takes this game to a whole new level and to a science, I am amazed. Great work by the uploader!
I recently compared the stats among 3D Cinema films. I didn't guess they were different lengths! Although, re-watching that segment, the profit differences are so insignificant you might as well choose the E.I.N. stats you want. In that case, it's Storm Chasers for me (lowest nausea, closest to 3 intensity).
So this means its time for a gentle ride tier list, right? Also im pretty sure vintage cars and regular cars give different stat results, so despite being so similar theyre worth separating.
I honestly would've thought several others were definitely worse than the 3D Cinema. Is there a video like this of the gentle rides, I'd love to know more about that.
"Come on Barbie let's go party" Seems like it should have been on 3D cinema. At least anyone watching the video in the future will know when this was released.
I've said it many times in the comments, but I absolutely hate the Twist. By the way it performs, it doesn't even deserve to be called a "Thrill Ride"; it's a Gentle Ride in all but name. And I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but for the over 20 years I've been playing RCT, not ONCE have I seen a Twist turn a profit; more often than not I never see guests ride it at all, even when I leave it at the default price. I've had 3D Cinemas that were vastly more popular and profitable than the Twist. The only reason I ever build it is when it's the only Thrill Ride available at the start of a scenario.
I mainly play Parkitect these days, but I sometimes pick up RCT2 for the nostalgia. And I must say, the flat ride selection is one of the things I miss the most when playing RCT2. Limited animation gave RCT2 very few rides to work with, but Parkitect has a ton of different flats, and even more so with mods. I wonder if Marcel will ever make a video about that game, if only to show how it compares to RCT2. In the comparison, I'd say RCT2 has a few clear advantages too, particularly in the scaling of guests compared to other objects in the park, in sound design, and in UI. But if you like RCT2, Parkitect is definitely worth trying, as it runs laps around its predecessor in many respects too.
Disagree about the Twist. While it isn't great stats wise, I find it actually fits in quite well in more industrial themed parks as it looks kinda like a piece of construction equipment.
I put one together using the profitability of the various stalls, as well as whether they provided something for the guests that was important to satisfying the needs of the guests, or for the profitability of the park. Low-profit food and drink stalls got penalties because they tend to cannibalize from higher-profit food and drink stalls. I use a price manager plugin to set ride and stall prices, so I take the average of the profitability of various items between cold, hot, and moderate weather, though with umbrellas I assume they are being sold at $20 or the equivalent. The results I came up with: *S Tier* consisted of high-utility stalls that provided unique services such as the Cash Machine, Information Kiosk, and Restroom. The Souvenir Stall also made it in because of its ability to sell umbrellas. *A Tier* consisted of the Hat, T-Shirt, and Soft Toy Stalls, as well as top-tier food (Pizza, Chicken, Burger) and drink (Coffee, Hot Chocolate) stalls. *B Tier* consisted of the Balloon and Sunglasses stalls, with high-tier food (Sub Sandwich, Hot Dog, Fries) and drink (Drinks, Iced Tea, Lemonade, Fruit Juice) stalls. *C Tier* consisted of the First Aid Room, as well as a number of mediocre food and drink stalls. Any food/drink type that I do not mention in other tiers should be assumed to go here. (While the Art Deco food stall sells B-tier lemonade, it also sells C-tier beef noodles, which drags it down to this tier. In most situations, your park will have room to place separate food and drink stalls, so the space savings isn't really worth it.) *D Tier* consisted of a number of poor-profitability (Meatball Soup, Wonton Soup, Tentacle, Funnel Cake, Popcorn, Ice Cream) food stalls. *F Tier* consisted of the Pretzel Stall, the Candy Apple (Toffee Apple) Stall, Cotton Candy (Candyfloss) Stall, the Donut Shop, and the Cookie Shop. The five worst food stalls in the game. I would ignore any stall below B tier unless you have no better choice for the situation, with the possible exception of the First Aid Room. First Aid Room should be used sparingly if at all, and only near high-nausea rides. (As for why the First Aid Room is so high on the list, the cannibalism caused by low-tier food and drink stalls resulted in _massive_ penalties; those stalls in D and F tiers actually have _negative_ scores.) If you want an idea of the order of the stalls within a tier and category, I list them in order from the best to the least good, so Drink stalls are better than Fruit Juice, for example, even though they're both in the same tier.
Probably has been asked before but do you ever plan on doing anything regarding RCT3? Main reason I ask is because that’s the one I grew up on, I’ve never actually played RCT1 or 2 but I love your content anyway
The way you make the twist interesting is you do it like a theme park I used to go to with my family did, where its inside a huge dome and they play a crazy lightshow on the inside of the dome with music while the ride is going. Obviously this can't be done or shown in RCT2 but its a way you could do it in a real park.
I'd put the Twist below the 3D Cinema for the sole reason that the latter counts as an indoor ride, giving it an advantage in the rain. It's why it as well as the Motion Simulator are my ideal thrill rides to use in a park. The Twist has none of these redeeming qualities.
For scenarios with pay per entry parks, what criteria would you use to determine the best? Soft guest cap and size? Capacity in more crowded parks? Anything I'm missing? Throughput only matters for pay per rode right since it increases profit? Is there something I'm missing?
They're all terrible except for the mini golf which is VERY terrible. The car ride/Cheshire cats, and the observation tower can be pretty decent though, imo.
one question, i always saw that you have, to open a ride a design like a traffic light instead the flags the are in game. How do you have it is a plague o something like that?
need a scenario where you only have access to the worst rides in this game. idk how much that would affect the game overall but could be enjoyable content.
After the most recent video, I had to go back and I did find some pride flags! Hidden in plain sight! 1:34 Transgender flag colors (I think) 2:25 Pansexual flag for sure 8:46 Bisexual flag!
Huh, didn't know the 3D Cinema was that bad. I just thought it looked cool and was easily spammable like the Motion Simulator. But it's overall worse than the Twist unless it's a rainy park?
I personally have a very low nausea tolerance. 3D movies can give me motion sickness. I can't play Roblox or watch my kids play Roblox. I'd like to get back into play RCT though. It was one of the few games I could enjoy. Went to Universal Studios with my family and I couldn't go on any rides. They were all too extreme for me. 😑🤣
i kind of feel like some rides and attractions should be revamped, just so there not terrible like the golf and 3D cinema like golf is normally 18 hole but in this game it's to too long for them

This makes me wanna go back and play stuff like the sims 1 and this and nothing else
I didn’t know I needed this until now
I can't wait for the gentle ride version of this video!
-The 3D Cinema is a thrill ride.
-Lies! Lies everywhere!
0:51 Look ma! I'm on TV!
I appreciate the depth and breadth of the criteria.
I like the twist. It's not great as of actual stats or anything, but I like how it looks, and it's a decent mediocre ride that everyone will ride.
Now for a Gentle Ride, Water Ride, Stalls and Transport Rides tier list.
Thank God you exist! I always wanted to know this!
Would be interested in seeing how a shops and stalls tierlist might work
I put one together using the profitability of the various stalls, as well as whether they provided something for the guests that was important to satisfying the needs of the guests, or for the profitability of the park.
The results I came up with:
*S Tier* consisted of high-utility stalls that provided unique services such as the Cash Machine, Information Kiosk, and Restroom.
In most situations, your park will have room to place separate food and drink stalls, so the space savings isn't really worth it.)
*D Tier* consisted of a number of poor-profitability (Meatball Soup, Wonton Soup, Tentacle, Funnel Cake, Popcorn, Ice Cream) food stalls.
@@MarsJenkar Interesting! Thanks for the breakdown
Marcel Vos the Boss!
I always liked naming the 3D Cinema to imply thats the movie theyre actually watching.
And it would always be shit like "Clockwork Orange 3D"
"the twist is just generic looking"
minutes earlier
"the twist also has the most reskins, at 10"
Probably has been asked before but do you ever plan on doing anything regarding RCT3? Main reason I ask is because that’s the one I grew up on, I’ve never actually played RCT1 or 2 but I love your content anyway
The way you make the twist interesting is you do it like a theme park I used to go to with my family did, where its inside a huge dome and they play a crazy lightshow on the inside of the dome with music while the ride is going. Obviously this can't be done or shown in RCT2 but its a way you could do it in a real park.
Only Marcel could get away with making a peepee joke in an RCT2 analysis video
I'd put the Twist below the 3D Cinema for the sole reason that the latter counts as an indoor ride, giving it an advantage in the rain. It's why it as well as the Motion Simulator are my ideal thrill rides to use in a park. The Twist has none of these redeeming qualities.
For scenarios with pay per entry parks, what criteria would you use to determine the best? Soft guest cap and size? Capacity in more crowded parks? Anything I'm missing? Throughput only matters for pay per rode right since it increases profit? Is there something I'm missing?
As a kid, I wouldn't put pieces on the rotodrop. I thought I was scamming them and found it funny.
What about the tier list of gentle rides in RCT2?
They're all terrible except for the mini golf which is VERY terrible. The car ride/Cheshire cats, and the observation tower can be pretty decent though, imo.
Guests are stored in the 3D Cinema.
you're my favourite RCT2 player
The twist?? surely you mean "scrambled eggs" :P
"certainly not yet certain" 👌
Could you do a ranking of all the gentle rides and water rides please and thank you
one question, i always saw that you have, to open a ride a design like a traffic light instead the flags the are in game. How do you have it is a plague o something like that?
I have a question about the Freefall tower, does launching mode vs dropping mode effect the ride stats?
need a scenario where you only have access to the worst rides in this game. idk how much that would affect the game overall but could be enjoyable content.
I wonder if it is possible to beat a scenario with 1 guest
How would Scrambled Eggs and Space Rings stack up in comparison.
this is what i need in life
After the most recent video, I had to go back and I did find some pride flags! Hidden in plain sight!
1:34 Transgender flag colors (I think)
2:25 Pansexual flag for sure
8:46 Bisexual flag!
Coaster tier list port to RUclips when?!
Huh, didn't know the 3D Cinema was that bad. I just thought it looked cool and was easily spammable like the Motion Simulator.
But it's overall worse than the Twist unless it's a rainy park?
I will never stop wondering why the 3d cinema is a thrill ride. A cinema is not something I would call thrilling in the here used sense
What is the best path layout so people don't get lost?
4x4 Grids
I’ve never understood why the 3D cinema is “thrill” and not “gentle”
I personally have a very low nausea tolerance. 3D movies can give me motion sickness. I can't play Roblox or watch my kids play Roblox. I'd like to get back into play RCT though. It was one of the few games I could enjoy. Went to Universal Studios with my family and I couldn't go on any rides. They were all too extreme for me. 😑🤣
3D Cinema as an attraction: F-
3D Cinema as a decoration: A q p
Ooooh, gentle rides when?
It's functions as a Big Ball if you need one
Totally didn't use this and the Launched Freefall to make you know what
I'm going to start rating everything in life on a scale of God, Good, Meh, and Ew.
What do you rate yourself?
DId you mention that The Enterprise has the best default music?
I wouldn't call the 3d Cinema the worst!
9:04 That name!!!
Do people play RCT2 or 2017 remastered Classic one? Which one should I buy it?
1:56 my man
Does reskins count as different rides for ticket price (as in "same type in the park" from the rct2 ride calculator)?
Same ride
@@MarcelVos sad!
im a boy but HOW MANY LETTERS IN DEVOURED? ATE! *follows* so real
Motion simulator should be god cause of that one map you cant delete trees on or go over tree height
Good or bad, I like all Thrill Rides 😊
i kind of feel like some rides and attractions should be revamped, just so there not terrible like the golf and 3D cinema
like golf is normally 18 hole but in this game it's to too long for them
This is probably still the best game ever made
