Somebody sneezes during the recording at 1:00! Ouch! On another note, this is such an amazing composition--Incredibly passionate--perfect for that scene in Equilibrium. It would bring anyone to tears...the epitome of "feeling"!
A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: to shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. Psalm 92:1-3
Unlike many of you, I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to naming specific pieces of most classical. But I'll tell ya, this one has always stuck with me, I simply love it!
Any time. There is considerable evidence to suggest that Beethoven was profoundly deaf before this symphony was written. For example, he needed to use "conversation books" in which people wrote in order to be able to communicate with him. One would have to be extremely deaf to have to resort to this measure. These books survive to this day, and it is possible to date events that are described in them easily.
Ya. I must admit Im not a huge fan of the movie (its quite good)... but! that scene, I just cant imagine not knowing or hearing music for all the years you have been alive.... then...... THIS!
EQUILIBRIUM
HAHAHAHAHA
Eu também vim por causa do sumo sacerdote do clero tetra gramatron, Jhon Preston!
Best Movie Ever 🎥🙏❤

If we keep burning all this

eventually there won't be
anything left to burn.
What'll there be for men
like us?

But I, being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softly because you tread on my dreams

I completely agree, EQUILIBRIUM all the way!!
What I needed now, was a little of the Ludwig Van.
GKIRA89 As I slooshied I knew such lovely pictures.
I've seen this movie so many times and this is one of my favorite parts

EQILLIBRIUM!
This is the way the world ends. Not with a whimper but with a glorious moan from Beethoven.
an alarming thought considering im listening to beethoven right now
this decodes me on so many levels.
fck why am i cryin'?! this masterpiece brings me so many feelings

Every time the intro ends, I can't help but hear "MY SPOON IS TOO BIG"
my joint lasted the entire song. I love itt!
Did I just hear someone coughing at 1:01?
nein Yes indeed, your ears have not fooled you.
Yes, we were looking for exceptional people like you. The country needs your ears.
I feel this part of the symphony is too underrated and overshadowed by the main chorus. This is a very potent and emotional piece as well.
@Richierua
great movie. Also A Clockwork Orange has lots of the 9th in it.
Any time.

2:20 CHILLS
Love Beethoven .
Someone coughs at exactly 4.20
Coincidence?
Realmente muito bonita e inspiradora!
increible
Whats with the cough? I thought that was my mum.
I came here because of the Equilibrium :)
Of course, starting to have feelings, and feel the situation of the world in Equilibrium is enough to anyone get deppresive
oh wow thank you i'm so pleased
nice to go with a bit of the ol' ultraviolence :)
Equilibrium.WATCH IT.
Equilibrium brought me here :P
No, a person who was deaf when he composed this... Beethoven lost his hearing around 1811 and the 9th premiered in 1824.
@xxPenumbraxx No. The perfect version has "smalin".
I like Schneider, sounds good ;-)
9th symphony, complete version...

💞😇😮

Double Plus Good Comrade
That guy who coughed cringes to this day, rumour has it.
how can you describe this with words?
You cant
Ha, maybe.
needs more bass drops
In any case, there is certainly nowhere near enough evidence to be able to make the definite statement "he never went fully deaf."
@twooffour huh ? :L
he never went fully deaf anyway, and besides nobody knows when he lost his hearing so get off wikipedia, it's not all fact i'm afraid.
No a person who eventually went deaf composed this
He was deaf when he wrote this. At least to the best of anyones knowledge.
A deaf person composed this?
more cowbell
The drug suppressed emotions, not depression. But even then its still dreadful advice. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?
Maybe he was faking it...just kidding.
Dude ... stop.
