The Sticker in the Detention Block actually is accurate to the original version of the movie,where the "extended corridor" was just a painting, though starting on the special edition from 1997 it was replaced with a cgi hallway, just thought thats a cool detail
I got this one and spent 4 days, off and on, building it. I loved putting it together, and the size of it is fantastic. The minifigs are great too. I overall like this set. I saved for in, and in CAD it was a bit of a hefty price, I think it was worth it though, and will continues to love it, and it's play ability for a good long time.
The Empire in the original trilogy appeared to be more capable and that made them a lot more threatening and imposing, General Hux (Domhall Gleeson) is a snivelling creep and is treated with no respect by Supreme Leader Snoke and Kylo Ren but Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) is an intelligent, menacing officer who commands respect.
They should have included removable coverings. Unless you already were familiar with the toy or looking at it up close i dont think people would be able to tell it was supposed to be the death star.

An idea some people have about this rerelease is that it could've been part Starkiller base. I had some ideas on some rooms to replace: Droid repair bay could be the shield control room where Captain Phasma lowered the shields The room with the 2 Death star turrets could be replaced with the forest where Kylo Ren, Rey and Finn duel The Cargo bay with the elevator could be replaced with the assembly square where General Hux gives his speech (and laser on the side) The air shaft where Luke and Leia swing could be replaced with the air shaft where Kylo Ren kills Han Solo
if i had this as a kid i would play with it 24/7 even tough i had the death star as a kid it was the old one and we all know how fragile that was you just couldnt play with it
The cart is actually used for scanning. In A New Hope Vader orders a scanning crew to go aboard the Millennium Falcon. If you look very carefully, you can see a scanner very similar to the one in lego form.
All part of the plan for the glory of the empire. I would love this set, and would rather have this one than the old one. Update figures sounds amazing! And its because its more modern so there SHOULD be more updated bricks $100 more does not bother me
This set is good always playable and it includes every scene from 4 episode, i have this set and im so proud, star destroyer is sooo much overpriced, 1000 pieces more than death star and cost almost half price of death star. (200usd more)+ 20 minifigs comparise to 2 ..( sorry for my english im from poland )

I personally have it for display, the best angle is when you have the coolest scenes in the front. I like it for display because it shows most of the coolest scenes from the movies
Just bought Lego Death Star 75159 after repeated viewings of your video, just to be sure. Our local official Lego store had this built in the window since its release and it's been like a siren luring me onto the rocks ever since. Got some serious building to do with my 10yo son now. Honestly their adding a lot of minor details that don't need to exist, the simplicity of the old figures and many of the builds is what made the old set great for me

What's strange is it's the perfect size to fit inside of the original UCS Death Star II 10143, I just built mine now I'm looking into getting this.
I like that the two AA guns are linked, it makes a really cool effect when you move them as though they're tracking a fighter.
