Gold Digger
😂
😂
If you are impressed with Veloster N, you should race on the track. She is known for the cornering. I personally saw Veloster N going head to head with Mercedes Benz A45AMG on a track. AMG45 is faster on the straight line, yet Veloster N catches up on the corners. They were neck to neck despite 100 hp or more difference in engine output.
🤣🤣
Albert Biermann has been calling the Veloster N "The Corner Rascal".
I think its hilarious how calm and well pronounced the "1!! 2!! 3!!" Sounds rather than when you see monster v8s racing, the guy counting down almost loses his voice 😂😂 just found your youtube bro subbed 👍🏾
I believe the Voloster N was built to compete with the TypeR
it was prices originally right inbetween the Si and the Type R and competes right in between the two. It is an awesome car and own one myself!
@@bluedeathbuny77 yup price speaks for itself. Want more performance then more money.
If I hear this man say “ONE, TWO, THREE” one more time I’m gonna lose it lmao!
Yeah dude neverminds the horn lol
flashbacks to you saying you would beat a veloster n lol
Uhhhh yup. I did say that. Good thing is, I’m okay with being wrong
Cameron Hill To be fair, the one you drove was probably filled with 87 octane, and you had another body in the car with you. I also wouldn’t be surprised if your impressions of your car feeling faster, had to do with differences of how the boost comes on in each car.
Brandon Stinnett we fill them with 87 I can confirm
Brent, I came here to say this haha. It's cool that someone showed up to demonstrate the car and that Cameron is willing to change is mind.
Glad you got to finally run one. You have seen what mine does to cars!
Ive always loved how you give the other racers an intro, gives it a good storyline! Good race 😎
Yeah Cam is great about that👌🏽
I traded my 2020 Si for the Veloster N and never looked back
nah😂😂 id slap it an I have PRL Cobra Race CAI , PRL FP & DP, Maperformance Catback Race Exhaust, PRL intercooler kit and flashed on hondata running +9psi

I'm going to test drive a Veloster N as a possible replacement to my Fiesta ST.
I test drove a 10th gen SI and it was a much better made car, but it was just dead in comparison.
The fiesta is so fun to drive and I've heard the Veloster N is as well.
I wish we got the I20N here.
@@deejayimm just bought a new veloster n. It’s so fun even during the break in period and it corners FANTASTIC. Love it
Its a twin scroll turbo on the veloster n the designer of bwm M spec hand his hands on this and helped create a beast
I just sold my Audi TT got the Veloster N about 3 weeks ago and it is such a fun car! I absolutely love it. I think I am going to go with SXTH element for my upgrades
Jb4 is a must.
I toyed with some dude in a new stock Veloster N and kept right with him, but I have the 27Won CAI and TSP Stage 1 on Ktuner v2. I found out he works at Best Buy and we talked for quite a while! Cool dude, nonetheless.
Like how honest and down to earth your videos are, keep up the good work.

Seen a couple of your vids. Love a couple car guys just chatting and enjoying their cars. Well done. Subscribed.

You can see that factory anti lag working for hyundai when he shifts
Yes sir!
Those pops in between shifts help the turbo stay spooled.
It's barely anti lag though. It's more for the noise.

Dope video! Been waiting for this video for awhile and it delivered 🔥.
I freaking love my Veloster N
Sport mode didn't help...it ain't do nothing lol...the N is such an underrated car...it's so dope
What I learned from this race is that your car is almost as fast as a type r and that that Veloster with a tune is gonna be something special...amazing runs .
Just check my videos out and you will see how a N tuned is. FBO N TUNED
Bro no he’s not almost as fast a type r 😂 the type r top end will put a bus length or more.

Waiting for the 2021 veloster N for those N light seats and extra features that should have came standard.
I definitely dig those seats!
I hope it comes out in October and not February like I’ve heard!
Officially out! And I’m getting one too but the seats were supposed to be leather and alcentara but they only have cloth now idk why
Something worth mentioning that most people don’t know, although the seats are manual, it comes with power lumbar support. It’s absolutely perfect

I own a 2020 N, Usually catches people off guard with how peppy the thing is. Very enjoyable car on the backroads!
i just bought the 2020 r spec with 8k miles. even the r spec catches people off guard. the handling is incredible. i owned an evo x , 2 wrx , sti and the r spec is by far my favorite car ive owned. im super impressed with it.
couldn teven imagine an n. but i settled with the amazing mpg with how thigs are going right now lol
It’s crazy how much shorter the gears are, in my 17 3rd gear runs out to almost 90, i was wondering why you were short shifting then i realized you have a 20
I have an old EP3 SI and a Focus ST and its weird having third gear end at 80 in the EP3 and the focus ends at 96, i havent driven one of the new SI's but ive driven every year until the 1.5's, I've gathered all the parts for the civic for a k24a2 swap so im hoping that brings the fun back to that car.
I payed 27k for my white Veloster N with the PP. But I payed $500 to a consultant that sources the car you want and uses his dealer connections and competing dealers to negotiate a price. Definitely worth the cost and the headache it saved me.
where do u live? the dealer is losing money selling it for that price
Bobby Wisdom The dealer here is selling the N for $26.8K
Dealer here selling for 25k even out the door.
c'mon man. its when han says "red evo's yours" sean responded with "what do you mean" and han says "you represent me now, whatcha think? imma let you roll in a hyundai?" classic scene. But great race man. I love your spirit and I can't wait to see you grow even more man. Cheers!
lol those are some scary roads to be racing on.
2020 with 40K miles on it already??? Yikes
Literally driving the wheels off it!
Gotta enjoy the car when ya have it!
The N is a fucking blast. I was between it and a WRX. Ended up with the Subaru, but I have nothing but respect for that Veloster 💪
I’m thinking about getting an sti or veloster n what are the benifits to both
@@Ss_wes there’s really no comparing the STi to the N ... STi is a better, more capable car all around. It’s also $10,000 more. For the price, the Veloster N gives LOTS of performance, but is no match for the STi. Compared to the WRX, I found the N to be more fun to drive (personal preference), but the quality of the interior of the WRX was considerably better, and that actually matters to me. Also, all wheel drive in the Subaru is useful to me. I’m waiting a year or so for when prices on the N really start to drop - with their long warranty, it’s a great way to get in a killer car for cheap.
@@escapewheel821 Pretty sure the N is as fast as an STI
Waited for this one and it was great! Thanks for the awesome vids. Good runs!
40,000 miles in one year! Holy ****. Here I’am think my 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback has to many miles. I just reached 24,200.
aye nice man! i have a 2019 3 sedan lol only got 8K though.
I'm 9 months in on my wrx 3400 miles. Quarantine has really helped keep the miles off lol
I put 35K on mine last year on my 2014 accord v6 FBO lol
Im over here with 257k miles on my Accord like fingers crossed lololol
40k miles! In one year thats insane haha.. My '12 golf r only has 63k
That road was so sketchy especially on the first run lol. Hyundai has really stepped up its game in the last couple years. I still like the look of the Hondas better. But for performance, you can't beat the price.
You like the word crapload. ;-) I got an absolute crapload of Ads during this video - but it was worth it, great runs, great guy. Plus now I know how much to pay.
i thought your si is faster?
Just got N a few weeks back and i get pump seen how fast it is on these youtube videos lol I will agree with the dude and dealerships overprice them! I got mine from a private vendor for $26K with 10K miles, deal of the century!
Nice and respectful. I love it. That Honda Civic Si is beautiful. I remember when the 10th Base Civic Sport Manual Hatchback came out, everyone was so excited for the Si and Type R because of how great the base was compared to the 9th gen.
These Hyundai Veloster's are so nice too, this new styling is the best looking the Veloster Hatchback has ever been.
I raced my friends hondata tuned si with my N. (stock).. Great race I won from a roll and a dig.. The N just spools so fast. The the difference the tune makes on the si is night and day on that car.
Veloster N is the best
I was looking around for a 2020 Honda Civic Coupe SI, but couldn't find one. Hard to get now because 2020 is the last year for the Civic coupe. So I then test drove 2020 Veloster N with the performance pack. It was fun with all the crackles & pops, but while I was in the Hyundai/Genesis dealership I saw the Genesis G70. After looking around, I bought a 2020 Genesis G70 3.3T Sport RWD. All aluminum V6 twin turbo with an 8 speed auto with 365hp & 367lbft of torque straight off the lot.
So u basically ended going from 24k to 48k,2x. They must have had a good sales person working on u
Nice race. Really impressed with your shifting! Very smooth from what I see bro.
Thanks! I was hustlin
Great racing. Definitely a difference in the gear ratio between the two.
Ive had my 13 Genesis rspec for a while and have been seriously considering the Veloster N. Just dont want car payments. Only thing i have done to mine is FBO and its enough for me.Its the 3.8 v6, which stock is 348hp, and with it being rwd is a lot of fun. Hyundai has come a long way though. I also love the Type R, but the mark up is insane.
I'll never sell my 16 gen coupe ultimate 6spd
Dont feel bad i believe the sport package is like 275hp. So you defend yourself pretty well
Yes, but to the wheel its about 240-245 hp.
With his mods, maybe 250-255...
The Owner of the Si claims 240ish wheel.
The si is also about 130 lbs lighter.
That Veloster N was moving. Good race 👍🏽
He’s right on the warranty. My dealership doesn’t care what’s on my VN
What do you have on yours. I’m trying to mod mine
I'm FBO and my dealer is good with all the mods too!

Lucky your dealership doesn't care, mine won't even let me install wheels or a drop in filter.
@@ricergarage3092 damn 🤔 get as far away from that dealership as possible!
I don’t know what’s up with the Veloster N but it feels like more of a toy than an actual vehicle. It’s something I’d love to drive but hate to own.
It’s a great car to drive and own.
No hate man, the car is hella cool. It’s just not my cup of tea. But don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing car
It's a super basic car anywhere else besides the driver seat.
KDM aint no joke anymore even the base VT with some mods will scoot i had a 15 with intake straight pipe motor mounts intercooler reso delete and it would shock ppl
They’re quick little cars for sure. My 16 with stage 1 mods and tune pulls pretty good. Puts a smile on my face every time I take it out

You need to race that veloster N with your Type R
He doesnt want to
@@Camhill182 why?
Damnnnnnn that N was moving. Nice ride for sure
I only got a Type R due to resale value but I almost took home a Veloster N. The Veloster N and the Type R are just so much fun. I will miss the exhaust and twin scroll of the Veloster N. Plus the blue accents on the interior are way more tasteful imo compared to all the red in the interior of the Type R.
Great vid, but stop saying ppl blow up they L15, the failure rate is realy low, go check the thread of gtman on CivicX forum...
No replacement for displacement
Bad ass race, people forget that the N performance package come with 275HP vs Si with 206. Even with all ur after market parts u are not close to his HP, maybe with a professional tune u got the Veloster N all day any day. (Stock) he also have a few after market parts as well.
He just has an intake... and it doesn’t really do anything. If he had a tune with the intake the results are better.
Brandon Anderson for sure, still , bigger engine, a lot more HP from stock. The motor mounts also help the N when shifting
Yeah no doubt, the car really comes alive with a piggyback. Ended up putting an intake and piggyback on my N and the car turns into a different animal.
I think Cam needs to get on a dyno, lol! I’d be really curious to see what he’s putting down.
Depending on the dyno, stock N’s typically dyno between 230-240 at the wheels.
exactly! Our gas here is sh___t in california
Wow that’s super close! Good job man!
Best sounding inline 4? Focus RS? Alfa 4c? Fiat 500 abarth? Nice race though great car.
We can agree to disagree, but I do honestly think the N sounds better than all of those. The 4C might be close though... Definitely a great sounding car!
Amazing content here...Brandon seems super cool too and really knowledgable. Man, that's some heavy driving over 1 year already...impressive. Really want to the Veloster N, but I'd go with the powder performance blue. The value with the what you get at $29k in the Veloster is unreal. Yeah, sure there are some hard plastics, but c'mon, they put all of the R&D into the engine so yeah, you can't be expecting an Audi interior. Personally, I like it kind of raw and minimal and the customizable settings are a huge plus. Keep up the amazing work and content.
Good race...especially the 50 roll. QUESTION! What gear are you in on a 30 roll & on a 50 roll?
30 roll - 2nd gear. 50 - 3rd
@@Camhill182 thank you
Crazy how a SI is able to keep up to a Veloster N
damn he must be making a lot of torque jumping like that every shift . That N moves and sounds great. I'm really impressed. Great video
Its the anti-lag that the former BMW engineer programmed into the Veloster N
The pops you hear between shift is the anti lag keeping the turbo spooled
i just bought a V.N 2021 dual clutch in black today.. ur video & many others convinced me. enjoy ur type R btw
Nice vid and specially the conversations, love it
that veloster really pulls!!
The N does have a “aftermarket” exhaust stock you can essentially delete the muffler on the click of a button the way the exhaust is setup.. also the N has a unique turbo design instead of straight airflow from the turbo it comes to a plenum to separate the air flow to the turbo I believe it’s more pressurized forcing more air through it which is why it looks/feels faster
It WAS faster, not "looks/feels faster" lol
@@vbloodrose1973 depends on what you’re talking about. It’s not faster on a track… the Veloster is AWD and is built more sporty, so it’s got the valvetronic exhaust n unique turbo design therefore straight line speed the Veloster takes it.. especially off the line. Not to mention we’re comparing a lil SI to a Veloster N. I work at a honda dealer and the little 1.5T motors they put in the SI is trash, you should see the size of the pistons lol it’s actually laughable. The Type-R has the 2.0T which is much more comparable to a Veloster N imo. My coworker has a 2023 or 24 Type-R and he gave me a ride n that shit felt pretty quick even though I daily drive a 2020 BMW M340i XDrive (basically has a new Supra motor)
Veloster Ns are such a deal for that price and all the performance and nice exhaust sound but it’s just the looks of it that put it off. Maybe one day
This dude doesn’t look like a Hyundai owner lol he suits a muscle car like a challenger or sum but no offense man awesome car great runs 💯🔥
Lol, wut!?!?
That’s actually pretty funny, as it’s literally the exact opposite of the type of cars I like. I’ve always been about small, lightweight cars that can blast through the twisties like a go kart.
Brandon Stinnett Awesome car brother glad they are really reliable and fun I have a question I’m trying to get a friend to get a really fun manual car would you recommend this for a beginner to daily?
I was thinking the same. He looks like a guy who talks trash on asian car companies and is loyal to American muscle.
The Han sticker is hilarious 💀
I absolutely love my N. Such a fun car, I autocross it almost every weekend. I was considering a Civic Si, but I got my N with perf pack for the same price as the SI so it was a no brainer.
Better deal! If I can find one within the next month or so, I’ll buy it!
@@Camhill182 for sure! The SI is still a sweet car. The LSD is huge for autocross/track days and I think it's really awesome Honda includes it at the Sis price point
Your N was surely used then
No way you found a new N with PP for 24k lol
@@EulogizingSleep honest. I got the Hyundai discount, takes off like 5 grand. It ended up being like 25.5k, but then you have to add TTL so I didn't get it out the door for that price, but still, it was a crazy good discount I couldn't pass up

Omar Montoya yea that’s why I got the v1.2 actually today. Mine says it’s coming Wednesday, and I got the free TSP stage 1!
JasonSmallz the tsp1 is amazing. You’ll love it
Honestly the Si did pretty good, If you wouldve done the first race in sport mode I think it would have been pretty equal cause the more races you do the more heatsoak you get (Even though you have the PRL intercooler) all in all the way I see it is from a 30 roll he had you by a car length and from the 50 it was pretty even with maybe even the Si coming out on top if you kept going. Dude seemed like he thought he was owning you when he really wasnt lol
Considering the Veloster N is more of a Type R competitor, not bad at all.
I agree with you except the last sentence. He’s a humble dude who was just having some fun!
Definitely didn’t think I was owning him, lol!
Honestly, heading into this I was fairly certain that I was gonna get walked. I was surprised when I pulled on him with the 30 runs, and was then surprised again when we did the 50 run, cause not only were we really close, but it seemed to me like he was slowly starting to pull ahead. Would be very curious to see what would’ve happened if we had more room.
@@brandonstinnett5534
If you could race again with him having the phearable tune so we could see if it bests TSP stage 1.
Did you do no lift switching gears?
vasilas432 I’d be down.
And no, I was not no-lift shifting.
It's really impressive how well the Si did. These little 1.5's are torque monsters.
Hey Cameron, I am personally looking to buy a new car shortly, but I am wondering if a mildly built SI would have what I am looking for. I have a 2006 Mini Cooper S with roughly 230 hp that might be a good race for you, and would also love to have the chance to do a pull or 2 in the SI. I live in the Stockton CA area. HMU if you wanna work things out.
Ayy, sxth element parts, that’s what I used with my Elantra turbo.
This was a really good video. Awesome man
I’m a technician at Hyundai n those veloster N are nice fun little car
I had a 2015 VT that I put about 120k miles on before I got the N. My VT had a handful of issues while I owned it, but it was all little, stupid, annoying type stuff and it was all covered under warranty.
*Knock on wood...* So far I haven’t had any issues with the N.
Great video guys, I'm re-watching 😀. I was able to pick up the first one sold in Macon Georgia, white performance package. I have done very little and it seems like we are on the same page. I'd like to see if I can drop a couple hundred pounds before I add power and tune. I think it would be counter productive to drop too much power on this car without looking at the suspension and handling character first. Straight line racing is pretty pointless TBH but it was still entertaining 😀😀! I'd have to say that SI is pretty impressive to keep up at all and you were hanging out with him!! I raced an older modded si coming home from work one day and he tore my ass out of the frame, I felt weak!
I love watching your videos. Keep em’ coming!!
I love you
Time for a rematch with the N and your new R.
I had a 2018 Si and now got a 19 N PP. The N is an amazing car stock. I miss my Si because I got a great new deal and it is worth more even today but the N is amazing.
I'm a detailer and black is just awful easiest thing to scratch and a pain in the ass to keep nice
You race the type r against the volester not the si ..& watch the voloster go in reverse.
Holy shit, I’m buying a second ecu so I don’t void my warranty! Great idea my dude.
You don’t need to do that, as long as you can flash yours back to factory stock. I don’t get why he even says that, knowing that he can re-flash back to stock with his KTuner. The only time that makes sense is if your ECU can’t be flashed easily, and requires actual hard reprogramming.
@@BigBear-- believe he’s talking about the Veloster N. Not the Si.
Good race! I was wondering if u could race a newer STI next. I’m thinking it might be my next car.
Hi Cameron, I really enjoy watching your channel and can relate to your videos as I also have a 2020 civic Si sedan. It’s my daily driver and I drive it to work everyday. I have already stacked up 3000 miles in 1.5 months of driving. I would really appreciate if you could let me know if my modifying the way you have, is it gonna void your factory warranty ? I am planing on getting the PRL intake, PRL intercooler, AFE touring catback exhaust and the Racechip piggyback ECU (advertised to give +45HP). Will it void my warranty ? Yours or anyone’s response is highly appreciated!! Thanks
Yes, it will
The tune is the part that will void your warranty
I may be biased here because I have one in the UK but I just think the i30N is a better looking car than the Veloster N.
I’m a big fan of the way both of them look, but I think I slightly favor the looks of the Veloster. I too am most likely biased, but I’ve always liked quirky and unique looking cars.
The i30 N to me has a much more “grownup” appearance than the Veloster.
2.0t is in sonatas prior to 2020 they switched to 1.6t and its offered in the veloster N and with santa fe. They are making a 2.5t to be released with the later N performance series variants.
Actually a lot closer than I thought! Curious to see you race a Type R. The Type R walks a N stock for stock
For 10 grand more it better
@@LAAO369 true but cheaper cars can be faster and expensive cars can be slower. Like a mustang GT would smoke a type R off the line and starts at 35k. Or a Audi a4 which is more than a type r would get rocked from a roll.
My type r will walk all
Over that veloster
Despierogi the type r stock tune gets beat by a 5.0 only because Honda really down plays their engines with the stock tune. It’s very evident with the si and the type r.
Despierogi that is true, but the type r and the veloster N are a same category car. They are both 4 cylinder hot hatch cars. You pay significantly more for the type r and it’s technically an upgrade from the veloster, so you expect it to outperform the veloster.
The veloster N is definitely a great car btw. Not trying to rag on one or the other.
I knew that this would be the outcome. However, a part of me was waiting for you to pull on him. I had my fingers crossed when you did the 50 roll. Hyundai has really made strides over the years. Although, I’m gonna have to disagree with the Veloster N having the best in-line 4. I’m still going to give that award to the Type R. Another great motor vehicle contest. Looking forward to the next
If you pay close attention to the second run, when I got into 5th gear, you could see me pulling him in very slowly. I wonder what would have happened if we were on a nicely-paved Mexican highway and had more room
Cameron Hill I did notice that. I even said to myself that you were gonna catch him
He meant the best inline 4 sound. Type R sound is horrible. More non existent.
That phone cord over the steering wheel really bothered me
Not bad for a 1.5 tho Honda power!!!!
everytime u shift, is where he gains the most on you.
Exactly. Our clutch delay valve really sucks
I'm going to rewatch but run them rpms out and no lift shift
Enough!
@@dustin4219 it's a 10th gen, not an 8th gen....there is no running those rpms out!!!!
Nice I got a Nissan Sentra Nismo, however, each of yours are way faster!
Nice race, man! I like your sportsmanship and I think both of those cars are pretty sick regardless of which ones faster
I like the N in black so much better!
The light blue is so cool but it seems like it would get old quickly. Red black or white looks great too tho
Brandon risking his life wearing that T-shirt in California.
I gapped a 2019 tuned si in my 2013 speed3 by about two cars about a month ago i’ve never seen a Veloster N in person but i want to run one once i get a tune
Dylan Rod good times man
A stock si with its 192whp is not anywhere near a speed 3. Run a type R, that’s more in your class.
Edit even tuned, they only make 237whp
FBO tuned on 93 SIs make 250+ whp which is respectable.
Yeah the speed 3 are really fast. i saw a FULL bolt on Pro-tune beat a Stage 1 GLI by about half a car on a 40 roll. Turbo swap and they fly.
A race I was looking for. You did great, maybe with phearable...you would do better. You need to think of a small upgrade to finalize your stage one. I would go for a cheap turbo internals upgrade. All parts inside the turbine would go one size bigger. The cost would be 700 but I can't tell if a Dyno tune is required. The car would pull the same at low with no lag but would still be pulling to 6.500 rpm. This would give you cheap 15-25 hp. A ... and a clutch master 250 upgrade.
We don’t have the option to just upgrade the turbine wheels ect.. on these cars and with how small these turbos are it wouldn’t be worth it. A 27won w1 turbo would be a wiser move if Cam wanted that power
@@dakotahall1284
Yes I agree with you. My proposition was if he wanted to stay on stage one full bolts on.
Otherwise 27won is the best and cheaper turbo for the car. I may put one on my hatch 🐣 one day too!
If I did anything, performance wise, at this point, I would go flex fuel
@@Camhill182
Ok.
I would be happy with it 😜
vasilas432 the w1 is nice, they should be releasing the w2 soon. Also these cars aren’t subies lol we don’t have stage1/stage2 stuff
Fun runs, I expected this outcome though; the SI is just a trim below, the Veloster Turbo is the SI equivalent whereas the Veloster N basically is the Type-R equivalent (though slower, but cheaper too).
As the famous Johnny Tran saying goes "TOO SOON JR" !! if you know you know !
Kayne West?
