Sometimes a social transition is all they want/need even if they get a formal diagnosis of gender dysphoria. I can’t think of any other condition where getting treatment is a prerequisite for having the condition.
You could be unknowing, but if someone educated you once and you don't change, you're a bad person.

I’ve been online since 8th-9th grade and went back to public school for a little bit in 11th and let me tell you it was hell. i cant describe how much of a struggle it is for me as an indigenous and romani yet white passing person is such like inner turmoil cuz im grateful and love myself and despise myself at the same time and it seems so does most people in and out of my communities, i cant stand to be surrounded by white ppl but i make other pocs uncomfortable by my appearence.

the point it, you shouldn't HAVE to do things, discomfort and trauma alike, it's just not a good choice to keep making. you CAN challenge yourself without making yourself miserable, there are ways to do so.

If you seriously think that doing things that trigger traumatic memories or responses makes someone "get over it" or "become a better person" you are wayyy in the wrong. (Using myself as an example) Doing things that trigger my religious or childhood trauma is just going to make things worse. However based on your replies I'm assuming you misunderstood the comment. I had a terrible experience with a transformer on a power line pole exploding right in front of me during an tornado and it took YEARS before I could even look at a power line transformer without my heart racing. To outsiders my fear of the power lines was absurd but to me it was real and justified

growing up with strict parents has made me so sneaky and i always feel like i’m doing something wrong even if i’m not. i feel i have to hide everything. then my parents are confused why i lie to them about things. i love them so much and i’m grateful for everything they’ve done for me but sometimes i wish they had been/ could be now more gentle with me. (sorry for the little rant, does anyone else feel like this?)

Yes, my mom has become less strict and more understanding over time. However, she never sufficiently acknowledged that her perspective had changed and that she'd consequently be changing her parenting approach, so - due to poor communication on her end and my lack of therapy to heal from trauma - I keep operating under the assumption that things are the same. I don't respond to her messages in a timely manner, and I keep certain details to myself -- all because I'm terrified she will respond poorly to the truth and cut me off financially. When I share aspects of why I act this way with her, she seems so confused and hurt that I view her like that. It's like she moved the goalposts at some point, and I'm just now starting to see and accept that she's trying to be better. It's tough, though, because unlearning past behaviors is a constant process, and she still messes up. I made this realization after reading your comment, so thank you very much!!

It causes neurological symptoms, movement disorders, Kayser-Fleischer rings in the eyes, psychosis, cognitive impairment, speech problems, balance problems, and more.

My mom expects my room to be clean, I’ve gotten rid of at least 50% of my stuff, but I have no proper storage(because I was forced to get rid of it) I can’t get stuff out and put it anywhere to deep clean because that’ll JuNk Up ThE hOuSe and as a result my floor is covered in dust. I’m literally storing stuff in shoeboxes on the floor, and what can’t go in a shoebox stays in the floor. My bookshelf is full of books and little collectibles I have, and the only other place for stuff is on the floor. I am keeping my deodorant, wallet, pocket knife, keys etc on my damn windowsill because there’s nowhere else to put stuff. It’s not like I’m a hoarder because a good 80% of my floor is still visible and nothing is really piled up. But it’s still Ä difficult room to sweep/vacuum because of the layout. Idk what to do anymore.

Today at school there was a notice about a multicultural event I thought that was really good to see, because it’s never happened before and as a POC in an extremely white suburb sometimes it can feel like your suffocating. But once I clicked on the link it had only a couple of questions that needed a mandatory answer about like where are you from and languages you speak. For context I’m biracial my mum is white and my dad’s heritage is from goa but he was born in Kenya. Leaving at the age of five my dad didn’t have much of a cultural connection to his birthplace also with the factor that he was in a terrible family situation and basically all of his culture was never really celebrated. That sort of thing was passed on to me and my brother. I constantly feel like I have to prove myself to people, I feel to white and not white enough. I’ve never met another person like me who can relate. I don’t speak any languages of my heritage other then English and I was born in the uk. I wish people spoke more about mixed racial people, it’s really quite lonely.

ramble: im joining a folk punk band as a painst and percussionist!!! and my brother gets to join with the accordion!!!! There are several reasons to this.
1) a rich person can get very favorable interests rates due to being so rich, so they don’t actually pay that much more for the property after accounting for inflation. In fact, they might even pay less. But they also demonstrate to other rich people that they can pay off long term debts. This even applies on the level of credit score. You have to go into debt to prove you can pay off debt so you can get cheaper debt. Hey, I didn’t say it was fair.
2) as mentioned above, sometimes the interest rates are so low it’s actually cheaper after accounting for inflation. This also applies to investments which have expected returns higher than the loan cost.
3) sellers favor predictable recurring payments to lump sums for large sales
4) buying in lump sums can create suspicions of money laundering
5) buying in lump sums subjects you to more taxes (money launder the “right” way guys)
6) buying in lump sums subjects you to a lot more market risk since it’s the price for just one day. Paying over time with a loan is more stable.
7) on the subject of risk, buying with a loan makes it easier to bail out of a deal if your investment goes south
8) if you use loans, you can leverage your money for a lot more than it is worth. You can turn $1 billion worth of assets into $5 billion, essentially pushing money from the future into the present where you can spend more time accruing compound interest
Bottom line: rich people are playing Majong while everyone else is playing chess.

The poor, by contrast, have to worry about 30% APR on their credit card that they HAVE to use otherwise they aren’t allowed to make any large purchases. When you’re hanging on by a thread, any small push down buries you in debt, which negates any gains you might make with modest pushes up.
I thought that most of Elon's net worth is in shares, stock and invested? I doubt he has enough money in the bank to buy twitter cash only. Most billionaires tend to have several bank accounts each with around $300k in each and it's also common for extremely rich people to live off loans and this generates revenue for the banks because there is very low risk of loss. Most importantly he said he has a few million outside of Tesla and SpaceX stock which is more than enough for a luxurious lifestyle. His 280 billion or so is all in stock expect for a tiny percentage.

One technique they use, for example, is instead of having cash for their everyday purchases, they use their stock as collateral for a loan. Basically, they pawn their stocks for living expenses. This would be insane for anyone else, but for the rich it makes perfect sense because it can bypass the capital gains tax.
Elon Musk is not unique in using loans to buy things: every rich person does it. You are correct that they have almost no cash, relatively. The rule for investing is to have 6 months of living expenses in cash/cash equivalent because cash doesn’t appreciate in value. For most people, that’s tens of thousands of dollars and a sizable chunk of their savings, even all of it. But for a billionaire, that might literally be 1 millionth of their assets. So they can leverage 99.9999% of their money into making more money whereas a poor person is lucky to leverage 10%.

it's also dangerous because it gives parents access to EVERYTHING on a child's device and not only can they censor queer and trans people further, they can just straight up invade their child's privacy. it's a really horrible bill and i NEED more people to know about it.

im privileged enough to have a therapist, but she refuses to actually diagnose her patients (even though she can), and has made a lot of false assumptions and implied i was delusional on grounds of my transness :/
also, i mentioned to her that i think i may have autism and/or adhd, and she claimed that autism and adhd is overdiagnosed in girls and she "doesnt want to put me in boxes" and thinks we should "fully unpack my 'trans thing'" first. in terms of trans discussions she comes off as really dismissive in regards to it, and has claimed the fact that im trans causes problems for me, and that its the source of my issues
theres a lot of reasons why i think im autistic/adhd
adhd runs in my family, and the more i research it and autism both, the more it just feels like im being called out. I've had a lot of symptoms of them since i was a kid, and I've found that treating myself as a person with autihd is helpful. i function better and i feel like i understand myself that way. my friends who are diagnosed with either/or were surprised to find out that i didnt have a diagnosis, and a close friend who's studying psychology/to become a psychologist, and has adhd himself, has also said he thinks i have one or both. and ive taken those diagnostic questionnaires shared by reputable foundations (not autism speaks, because gods do they suck) and the results of those point strongly to me having autism and/or adhd

I'm in the process of getting an autism diagnosis but I self diagnosed a couple of years before, so I was saying I think I'm autistic or I'm probably autistic but a few months ago changed to I am autistic. I'm also pretty sure I have adhd but haven't gone anywhere with professional diagnosis for that yet.
I would say that if it helps you to use the sort of accommodations that help other people with autism and adhd then go for that because it's your life and if it helps you and doesn't hurt anyone else then no one should have a problem with that. as for resources, most are designed for younger autistic or adhd kids and/or their parents so you'd struggle to take away something that doesn't exist (light hearted) but also if you are audhd and need whatever resources there are available to you, you're not taking them away from others because you also need them. to use the common example of a broken bone, you wouldn't go "well I only *think* I've broken my arm so I don't want to take away resources from people who actually have broken bones", the same soft of thing applies for neurodivergence.
if you're worried that you're not actually autistic/adhd and actually have something else or are, as my mum put it when she was asked if she though I was autistic, just quirky, do some more research on other things it could be and know that it's not the end of the world if you're initially wrong and find out that it's something else.
last things I'm going to say is because this is getting long. if you think you're faking, you're probably not because people who are faking know that. you're not damaging the reputation of neurodivergent people by being self-diagnosed and just existing, and I'm sorry that your therapist doesn't take you seriously. I hope you have a nice day :)

I gotta leave a rant real quick about how people view fans and generally leftists who avoid nuance because they are afraid of being morally wrong:
So, with the Lizzo situation and the Doja Cat situation, there is much talk about parasocial relationships and half of it is unemphatic, one-sided, and ableist.
People are blaming fans for being "naive" for being a fan of a celebrity when not only is that simply a big part of western culture, but it's just plain asserting that you shouldn't have any opinions about anyone simply because they could be lying. A fan or any person really isn't more or less naive because they accepted a statement that someone said was true (referring to fans who trust(ed) Lizzo when she spoke on body positivity). That's a healthy way to communicate and understand someone. But people are acting like fans should distrust every thing a celebrity says simply because one day they could get caught lying, as if it's the fans job to read minds.
People are also not using their empathy skills to understand that fans and celebrities participate in parasocial relationships and it is just someone having empathy and communication with someone else that isn't personal. And this show of empathy for a stranger has always rubbed society the wrong way, specifically when a woman shows empathy, it is often medicalized and seen as "delusional." Like Stockholm syndrome, which was literally just a woman having empathy for her kidnapper, was made into a mental illness because people didn't believe she could possibly empathize with this stranger that was holding her hostage. It's not the same situation, but it's the same idea of people not believing that someone can hold room for empathy simply because they don't understand it. If a man is upset that his favorite sports player got accused of doing steroids, how many people would gang up and call the man delusional for thinking that the athlete lied? Not that many, not as many as the people who quickly put down anyone with "feminine" interests. I say feminine because people often just associate being a fan of a celebrity, especially a woman celebrity who isn't being sexualized by the fan or a male celebrity who isn't outwardly "manly", as something for women and girls.
This also brings me back to people straight up infantilizing people for simply being a fan. As soon as a celeb like Lizzo or Doja does something that the fans didn't expect, people are there to say "Now see, look, you were naive and dumb for trusting this stranger you dumb baby", which can be tied to the inherent misogyny of people hating "feminine" fans.
And the ableism is seen with people labeling others as "delusional" for being a fan of someone. It's literally inherently ableist and pointed at women specifically when they are simply passionate about something or someone. Suddenly they are delusional for liking something, and it is only because the other person isn't as interested in the same thing. Things can be medicalized so quickly. I actually read that someone said that parasocial relationships (something humans have had since before celebrities) are a sign of "mental unwellness" in our generation. That's blatantly medicalizing something that people do normally just because.
And finally, leftists thinking in black and white. This parasocial relationship talk always leads to people mostly blaming the fans for being naive or dumb, but why does anyone have to be the blame? Society, celebrities, fans, corporations, all of these people participate in parasocial relationships and the creation, maintenance, and destruction of said relationships on a collective and personal level. Why do people feel the need to blame one side for it? And why do some leftists feel like they have to pick one group to villianize (outside of ofc like capitalists and the big systems that are upheld by the government)? As a leftist, you would learn that there are so many different types of people with different experiences, education, languages, cultures, and perspectives. So, why would you blanket blame to one group that is clearly varied and probably just as in the dark as others?
I saw someone basically say that anyone who bought fast fashion to see the Barbie movie is participating in a harmful system, and that is just a fact. But the problem was when commentors were adding nuance, like the complicated relationship the queer community might have towards someone like Barbie and the yearning to participate in something with others, she would refuse to accept this information, despite it also being factual. As if accepting the nuance of the situation was making her initial point weak. No, you can still say that it's bad to buy fast fashion while acknowledging why people are doing it and learning about different perspectives. That's not morally bad and it is actually a very helpful way to approach the topic. But I see many people who are leftists denying that nuance is specific situations because they think it's an excuse or an argument, when often it can simply be just more information and context.

Okay, so I was arguing with my dad the other day, of course, he doesn't know that I'm trying to argue against capitalism, but anyways, I was telling him that all necessities should be free and that we should only have to work to pay for things we want, like jewelry and stuff. By "whiteness" ו think they meant the white supremacy aspect of it, like how many cultures idealize eurocentric features and lighter skin, and people who don't have those are called "dirty" and treated less than, even by members of their community.
Whiteness isn't real, because that isn't a culture or actual ethnic group. White people are German, or Italian, or Polish, or Danish, or Norwegian, or something else. Whiteness didn't even include Irish, Slavic, some Middle Easterns, or Italians until around 100 years ago. So essentially whiteness is more of a concept than an actual concrete group (it'd actually be European American or European Canadian or more specific if you actually know where your family emigrated from). Grouping all these different cultures together as "one" was only for the point of subjugation of whoever was deemed other.
A really great way to "leave the cult" is to learn about where your family is from and embrace it as part of your identity. (I also worked on this as a mixed person) Something that motivated me was wanting to honor the people before me whose lives weren't valued as working class folks.

About the last TikTok: I think I have an odd and specific point of view about landlords and owning land when it comes to leftist spaces. I draw the same conclusions, but from a different place. I am a homeowner. But I also did none of the work. I inhereted the house I've lived in my entire life. I've owned my house before I was in my double digits. I'll (hopefully) never struggle with the housing market or renting a place out. I paid nothing to live here, and yet I see houses around my town being built and sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars. They aren't even cool two story houses, just regular homes that kinda look like mine without the overgrown plants. How can a home that surely holds no more than three bedrooms be so expensive? It's the same as my house only mine was free.
And also the fact that your home still is at the whim of others. If someone in power decides my home is too unkempt, it can be condemned. Certain bills you have to pay bi-yearly. Taxes. It's all ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, taxes are great, but the fact that there are repercussions to not doing taxes? What if I went to jail? Would my house just get repossessed? What if a billionaire decides my neighbourhood is the perfect spot for a park? You can be a homeowner and still not have safety. But at least I'm comfortable. Renting sounds like a nightmare. I'd much rather buy two acres of land and build a tower up to the sky. Get some bricks from a junkyard and minecraft my way outta capitalism.
