I have a racist neighbor and he is just as respectful as this guy. He informed my husband and I (I’m Hispanic he’s Polynesian) that he was a white supremacist. We had a respectful conversation just like this and he shook our hands and event spent time with us. He said it’s not that he doesn’t like other races, he just doesn’t think that we should be mixing ethnicity. His fear is that white people are going to be a thing of the past and his race is going extinct. We had a respectful agree to disagree conversation and ate at the same table. These youtubers have a large impact on a vast majority of young adults in the US, so if their viewers can see them having a serious convo with an opposing viewpoint without the aggression/violence. It could incentivize some young adults to take a step back from their emotions and try to communicate with opposing opinion in their normal day to day.

I'm black too and I get it. If I was white and being called all the names in a book in a fight I'd definitely punch below the belt and use the er. I just rather the negative social implicaions around the word now because it encourages more acceptance and thoughtfulness and love coming from more white people. It makes being black and healing as a community to do so more comfortably. Black community has a lot of work to do because of what we've been through and what we've allowed ourselves to be comfortable with (high rates of single motherhood, gun violence, college drop outs and stuff). But we're getting better slowly statistically and the aid from the liberal whites (who I don't completely agree with at all on many issues) is helping the healing in my honest opinion. Just makes it a bit comfortable for us to work on some things.

Let me just put out a partial defense of AMP: a) I doubt that they're that informed so it's not like they could provide a defense of black or Jewish people since he was talking about specific people and historical events that aren't really mainstream. b) They also act on a profit and engagement incentive, and a full breakdown of the topics he brought up would be... boring and long (which is something I can attest to as I'd have to write many paragraphs to breakdown his claims). c) There'd also be complaints on the more liberal side of the internet with giving a racist a platform to speak. d) It's also unrealistic to expect a victim of racial abuse to... engage productively with someone who dislikes their general kind. e) There's plenty of resources to become educated and racism is usually deeply held so it might not have been productive either way. He is willing and able to have a civil discussion, therefore he is intelligent, while the show hosts can't stop talking and seem to have selective hearing whereas the other man kept his cool despite having controversial beliefs. I highly doubt I would agree with him, but the ability to articulate yourself is refreshing to see, it's too bad the hosts did not give him that opportunity, because the best way to debate someone is to actually know what that person believes themselves and why. We know bits and pieces of what he believes, but no explanation as to why because the hosts refused to do anything but laugh and talk over one another. That's why the man comes across as intelligent, because he is able to listen, and when he speaks he is exact in his pattern. At the very least he knows his history, so it would have been nice to ask questions as to why a certain time period is his favorite, especially considering that time period is widely considered to be terrible (I myself have this opinion of the period). It would have been interesting to hear the reasoning (or lack of reasoning) which can make someone view that part of history in that sense. Because what he did manage to articulate despite their mocking actually made sense, even if the conclusion was disagreeable, so I would have liked to hear him speak more.

There was a book written in the 90s called The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews which is probably where he got most of that info from but the book is considered by most historians today to be antisemitic. Jews did participate in the slave trade but he exaggerates their involvement. You could do more research on it if you’d like (which I highly recommend).

I'm black too and I get it. If I was white and being called all the names in a book in a fight I'd definitely punch below the belt and use the er. I just rather the negative social implicaions around the word now because it encourages more acceptance and thoughtfulness and love coming from more white people. It makes being black and healing as a community to do so more comfortably. Black community has a lot of work to do because of what we've been through and what we've allowed ourselves to be comfortable with (high rates of single motherhood, gun violence, college drop outs and stuff). But we're getting better slowly statistically and the aid from the liberal whites (who I don't completely agree with at all on many issues) is helping the healing in my honest opinion. Just makes it a bit comfortable for us to work on some things.

Let me just put out a partial defense of AMP: a) I doubt that they're that informed so it's not like they could provide a defense of black or Jewish people since he was talking about specific people and historical events that aren't really mainstream. b) They also act on a profit and engagement incentive, and a full breakdown of the topics he brought up would be... boring and long (which is something I can attest to as I'd have to write many paragraphs to breakdown his claims). c) There'd also be complaints on the more liberal side of the internet with giving a racist a platform to speak. d) It's also unrealistic to expect a victim of racial abuse to... engage productively with someone who dislikes their general kind. e) There's plenty of resources to become educated and racism is usually deeply held so it might not have been productive either way.
This wasn't as mature as it could've been. This wasn't just comedy (even though a lot of it was). They became offended because they found out they were being genuinely insulted. They could've avoided getting offended by refusing to interact with him or ending it sooner. The threats of violence and the lack of civility (especially with respecting his views on hate speech) are not defendable.

He is willing and able to have a civil discussion, therefore he is intelligent, while the show hosts can't stop talking and seem to have selective hearing whereas the other man kept his cool despite having controversial beliefs. I highly doubt I would agree with him, but the ability to articulate yourself is refreshing to see, it's too bad the hosts did not give him that opportunity, because the best way to debate someone is to actually know what that person believes themselves and why.
We know bits and pieces of what he believes, but no explanation as to why because the hosts refused to do anything but laugh and talk over one another. That's why the man comes across as intelligent, because he is able to listen, and when he speaks he is exact in his pattern.
At the very least he knows his history, so it would have been nice to ask questions as to why a certain time period is his favorite, especially considering that time period is widely considered to be terrible (I myself have this opinion of the period). It would have been interesting to hear the reasoning (or lack of reasoning) which can make someone view that part of history in that sense.
Because what he did manage to articulate despite their mocking actually made sense, even if the conclusion was disagreeable, so I would have liked to hear him speak more.

As someone who doesn't necessarily like black people it's because so many of them act the same not all but the majority especially the ones I grew up around and the ones I've met online they're all disrespectful and have a loud mouth and I've gone to schools and lived in neighborhoods where there's a higher majority of blacks so I have experiences on multiple accounts so that gave me that negative view on them same way if somebody doesn't like the police it's because they had negative experiences with that group of people I'm also a minority just want to clarify that

Yeah I share his beliefs and what's sad is that I don't think either he nor I are bad people. Could immediately tell it was him because I'm familiar with the tone he immediately began to set.
