Also I just noticed while watching your Twitch you showcased the newest Grey Seer miniature they released a few years ago, its one of my favourite miniatures and was wondering how you painted the skin? looks fantastic.
Awesome! Probably some of the best TMM silver armour I’ve seen and some great insights on the process and how to use the colours! Looking forward to more!
I had good luck mixing Vallejo Metal color Silver with Daler rowney process Cyan. Over Vallejo metal color gunmetal. 1 drop of ink to about 6 drops of paint. Add a bit of metallic or glaze medium if you want a shinier color but it works for grimdark and you can add black ink washes over it while still keeping the blue tint in the silver.
Hands down the best GK tutorial I’ve seen - would love to see the ratios you roughly mix with the blue shading glazes - that said - I know these things are normally done on feel
Hey, is it possible to expect an Ork skin tutorial in the near future? Since Daren had to end his tutorials on RUclips, your channel has a lot of potential to be the greatest one out there. Bring it on fella!
@@InfernalBrush Holy! This is such a great news! I really hope this channel will grow out more and more tutorials! Thanks for what you are doing, we need you!
Your work is RIDICULOUSLY INSANE 🔥 I'm a Warhammer newbie since Jan 2023 so loving the inspiration. My only question if I may, how come you no longer work at GW doing this? I mean your clearly that good so WHY would you still not be there, I'm just curious to know? Thank you 😊 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I got Hexfire because of Thousand Sons, but I've wanted to learn about inks for a while now and this seems like a perfect start. Simple technique but with a lot of room for detail and skill.. I think Ill give this a shot! When you blend the ink, is that just water that you are using? Or a dry brush? or any sort of medium?
Firstly, great video. Very enjoyable and highly informative. Secondly, is this to imply that the actual box art for GW Grey Knights isn't painted using Citadel paints?! And if you did use strictly Citadel paints when painting the box art, what is the motivation to switching paints in this video instead of sticking to the recipe most similar to the one you used as a GW pro?
I just ordered my first bottle of liquitex Prussian blue. I'm hoping you could provide the water to ink ratio. Amazing work. Creates such a cool illusion.
I have to admit I didn't test it because I was trying to stick to currently available products however I see no reason why it shouldn't work. I did try Calth Blue Clear and that was decent but I think the other options here were better.
I can only speak for myself however GW underwent a company wide external pay review about 5 years ago that made sure the pay they offered was competitive. So yes I was well paid and the conditions were good.
This seems quite straightforward and achievable for less experienced painters. Really hope grey knights get updated model line soon.
Great video! you make me want to paint! me and my brother discovered your Twitch today, thanks for sharing your knowledge btw.

Thats really beautifully done man, stunning finish as always

Thank you fir the video, has been a great help in planning painting for when the heatwave cools off!
Your brush control is outstanding.
Thanks for the youtube content. Look forward to more video's in the future definitely going to recommend this channel to friends!
That's some real smooth steel. Great job on the editing, I hope you do more of these on youtube.

This is awesome! And the fact that you propose alternatives that are not necessarily Citadel painted makes it even more awesome.
Your precision in combination with speed is impressive! Makes sense considering your previous job, but still.
Great video Mr.Pez, look forward to more. Thank you
Wow! This is exactly what I was looking for. Was just about to start on my grey knights!
Right? All the other tutorials are so bland and uninspiring...
Painting a Primaris marine GK colors..... Local Inquisitor will be contacting you shortly stand by lol. This is a great tutorial mate.
I picked up the VMA metallics on your suggestion and holy cow these things are dynamite!
This is awesome. Please keep making these.
Great video bro short and sweet ,
Very well explained, very well filmed and very well painted.
Very nice video, with very helpful commentary, subbed!

Thankyou! Good feedback. Should have a palette cam for next video.
Dave - thank you for these. Clear & concise and excellent work! Subbed.
Thank you very much for sharing your work. It was brilliant watching this.
Superb! Love the overall effect! Great tutorial!
Very nicely done, it reminds me of how Robocop's armor looked from the 2nd movie.
Phenomenaly good. Thank you for doing this !

Ork skin is next! Should be out in the next week or two, I had to order some stuff for it.

You are a beast wtf, really inspiring men
Great video! thanks for sharing how you did the blue shading especially and what has worked / what doesnt.
Great video ! This might be the colour for my new army :)

Proacryl transprents are a Swiss army knife. Love them as carriers, contrast paint alt, washing more.
Great result and vid!
Thanks Chris!
This is an incredible tutorial. Thanks!
Any chance you'd do the classic Grey Knight Power Weapons?
Definitely gonna pick up this ink and some others.
Awesome video, thanks so much!
Great vid man!!
EPIC video :)
Great vid, will be tracking you down on Twitch !
can you make a video on painting "light gold" its something really missing and cant find any one showing it
Many thanks for this video!!!

When you blend the ink, is that just water that you are using? Or a dry brush? or any sort of medium?
Thankyou! Yes just water is fine for inks, you could use lahmium medium or some matte glaze medium however it might change the finish slightly.

Love it buddy
Do you do painting requests? As id love to see you paint a Skaven miniature, thanks fella.
Thank you for the video!
If I may ask, do you use a brush reserved to work only with metallic pigments?
Heck. I use a separate airbrush.....
Generally no, I do use brush soap quite often to properly clean my brushes between using them for metallics. Thanks for watching!
Is there something specific you use to dilute the ink or a particular ratio of ink to medium?
I use water, with a tiny bit of matt glaze medium (Daler Rowney).
@@InfernalBrush Thank you!
What are you diluting the ink with? and by how much? This is easily my favourite approach/scheme for grey knights I've seen! :)
Does varnishing this make a difference to the finish? would dullcote mess up the luster? what do you recommend varnishing this with?
Smoooth!
Thankyou Max! repping the squadidough
Great tutorial!!! I will try it on mine😁, one question, what do you think about using guilliman blue as soft shade??🤔
I have to admit I didn't test it because I was trying to stick to currently available products however I see no reason why it shouldn't work. I did try Calth Blue Clear and that was decent but I think the other options here were better.
can you do one of these for the new orks?
Working on a video for Ork skin at the moment, should be out in the next week or two
@@InfernalBrush perfect 👍
say, that more or less is exactly how to paint the fist sucessor chapter of the iron knights. right?
Now I want to paint a Kill Team that looks like Robocop.
Hey there! How many layers of blue ink would you say you put on the bigger armor panels? Looking for idea of how many based on the potential result.
I think I’m going to use this to make my own Successor Chapter. I really like the look, but don’t want to play Grey Knights.
Fun Fact: I did!
My Silver Hammers use the (color) to silver transition to represent battlefield role!!
As a person with direct experience working for gw, are the conditions good? I have heard rumors of inconsistent pay and other things.
I can only speak for myself however GW underwent a company wide external pay review about 5 years ago that made sure the pay they offered was competitive. So yes I was well paid and the conditions were good.
Thanks for the information
what brushes do you use? for example here
I think most of the blending was done here with a size 1 w&n series 7, then a 00 to highlight
The contrast seems to be increased on your video. Makes it a little hard to see some things with the inking. Otherwise nice video.
beautiful :'(
Thank you!
now... please tell me how you varnish this to keep those metallics with a good sheen. lmao...
how you filming? where is the cam when u painting?
