Solved the error by jumping the red cable to the negative led cable. Jumped the red with the blue. I think since that red wire is a positive, jumping it to a negative makes the system think it is plugged in correctly.
@@dryster123 Yes, Jump the red and blue, those 2 joined into 1 goes to Negative Power Led-, which should leave you with a remaining orange wire which goes to the Positive Power Led+. I believe there is a way to join the reset to work, but haven't bothered to do it. As for the HDD Led, I think you would need to splice the original front panel connector and find the right cables to get it to work. I have also not tried this. If I do I will report here. Keep it mind this applies only to these old systems and yours may vary in colors. Always try and search for a wiring diagram of your motherboard model to know for sure.
De full utilidad solo tuve que conectar el cable rojo con el azul y todo funciona correcto llevo mese buscando esta soluccion y al fin la encontre, bro te egradezco en el alma, tenia miedo que explotara todo jajajaja
El rojo y amarillo van juntos adentro y chau aviso y al fin se puede usar el boton power del gabinete de terceros pero lamentablemente el reset no tendria ningun uso ya que dell no usa reset...

thank you for posting this. I hope you can reply to my question. I have MIH61R MB that I acquired for free from a friend. Upon testing, CPU cooler fan turns on, a little orange light lights up. But black screen and no post. What could be the reason for this? I followed online advice and cleared its CMOS through a jumper. Still no post. I am not sure if the MOBO ever worked. So I am unsure if doing these jumpers in the video might help in seeing anything on screen. Would they? Please note that fans work immediately as soon as I plug power cord to PSU. No presses but when I do jumper for the 5 pins (up near the memory) i can see that keeping the last two on the right shortened makes the mobo reboot (but without post) . Shorting them will power up the mobo but no post too.. Any advice? thankyou !
segun tengo entendido, fijese en el diagrama y en el comentario de Joseph Amaral hacer un "jump" o unión con el pin rojo y azul para evitar el error de encendido luego use pin nego con el amarillo para accionar el encendido
El amarillo y el rojo van juntos adentro de power + yo lo solucione asi y funciono perfecto y asi pude tirar ese gabinete dell horrible solo me quede con los usb y los leds delanteros...
@@Promoplay-one Exactamente no pasa nada hace mas de un año lo tengo asi y no paso nunca nada hice el cambio de gabinete porque la dell que tenia vino con fuente chica y de apenas 300 watts y queria usar mi fuente gamer de 550 watts y los coolers con leds del gabinete gamer ademas los gabinetes dell son muy de oficina no tienen facha...
@@falomore Esa es una bahia que se llama cable io se saca del gabinete dell esta apretado a presion no es tan dificil sacarlo y se podria adaptar al frente de otro gabinete o simplemente dejarlo adentro como yo tengo gabinete con lateral de acrilico lo adapte al costado para seguir viendo las luces de inicio 1,2 y 3 y la actividad del disco rigido igual si necesitas los usb en el mother hay una entrada mas usb se conectan los usb del gabinete ahi y chau problema sin ese cable y bahia el inicio seguiria largando error failure si o si tiene que estar conectado osea se migra mother y esa bahia io sino estamos igual o peor porque no tendrias tampoco diagnostico de error o inicio ademas de la actividad hdd...

So Black and yellow is power switch, jumper red and blue for no startup error? - what if you want the power LED to work as well?
Internet high-five! Just read this while troubleshooting this issue, tried it, it works great.

Join the red and blue cable together first, then put it into the NEGATIVE LED, this will remove the error message (the rest of the video is perfect).
Saved me alot of worries lol I recently got a free optiplex 7010... Lol was gonna swap cases to get more room for gpu, psu

2. You know you are supposed to use the "chisel" side of the iron tip for soldering, right?

Hello. Did you solve the front usb 3.0 compatibility problem? The pinout seems the same but the connector it's a bit different so it won't plug in.
