Dell Optiplex power button cable failure! A guide on how to stop the annoying error!

  • When swapping the Dell Optiplex with the 5 pin power switch, you will get the alert power button cable failure which stops you from booting right up. In this video I show you how to bypass it weather you kept the cable or tossed it. It's real easy and applies to most Dells of this vintage. I do recommend using the single pin connectors as it makes it much easier.

got a video on a easier way to deal with these errors on the channel, just came out last friday. you can use all the lights usb and everything without using the original junk and splicing. as far as the fan error only time i had is was when it was not plugged in. try another fan and the different connectors for it. might be the fans rpm is too low and may needed a higher voltage fan.

First of all absolute great video. I do have a problem and hope that you still reply. So I took the Mainboard of a Dell 7010 (5pin power switch) and put it into a case which only has those 2pin power switches. My solution was to only put the 2pin power switch anywhere but there is also a problem to it. My case power button doesn't work and if I shut down my pc manually there is no chance to start it again. I have to unplug these 2pins and replug them in every time which gets pretty awful with time. So my question what should I do to solve that problem. How can I use the case power button or how can I make it easier to restart my pc. (if I just forcly pull my power supply out and plug It back in my pc starts automatically)

You can use an Intel stock cooler with these boards without an adapter. Cut the wires and plug from the old cooler and put them in these corresponding holes on the stock cooler. Black to Black, Red to Yellow. Yellow to Green and blue to blue, the 1st colour is the proprietary connector wires and 2nd stock cooler, this can be transferred to all coolers if you can integrate it. For the "hdd fan", you can cut the wires and put them in the same holes as the cpu if you can't use the fan itself.

hi! I have some questions for you. in regards to an Intel i5 10600k cpu. I've been shopping for one and in some of the ads say SRH6R very prominently on them and most don't. I've burned up Google and RUclips looking for what that means with no luck. the ads that have it never specified what it means. I've never seen any if them with a slightly different number. I've looked at a bunch of part numbers. none if them have this in that. I haven't seen those numbers on any other cpu. as far as I can tell there's 3 i5 10600's. the plain i5 10600, the i5 10600k and the i5 10600kf. actually, I never found out what the "f" designation was about either. also, another weird number that keeps popping up with this cpu is the add will say LPG 1200 socket. then, right after that it says socket 5. what the heck? I've written to 2 people with the SHR6R prominently in their ad, but, none have responded. any thoughts? thank you.
