Brilliant video. Swapped a lot of cases, but exactly this motherboard got today, which is a bit different from previous I had. Helped me right away, all works 100%. NOTE: I see only 1 video. If anyone would like more videos like that on any motherboards, DELL, LENOVO, FUJITSU, HP etc... please let me know and I will start making them, as I swapped all type of proprietary motherboards with no failures on the screen.

Excellent video!!! keep in mind the fan has to function around the same RPMs as the original fans or you'll still get the same message. And even in cases that the fan reaches the same RPMs if it's slow to start up then you'll still get the fan error message.

The sorta worked on a Dell OptiPlex 390 as well, The front HDD LED connector on the 390 is flipped and has 2 extra pins, but the pin layout at 0.35 is correct on my 390, no idea what the other 2 pins are for but who cares, Now I can throw these boards I have piling up in decent looking cases (the factory cases looked like they went threw a tornado) and resell them without the error messages every single time, Thanks!

Please note that some front USB 2.0 connectors will still trigger the Front IO cable alert. I just kept the jumper on the green motherboard connector and connected front USB 2.0 to the blue motherboard connector.

You are genius by the way. I saw people flashing bios and getting black screens. And you show way to solve it with jumpers. Easy! Thank you so much

I have a feeling this is my issue. I fixed all the other issues with adapters but it seems my issue revolves around the front usb green header. So the green header on the mobo is only for usb not usb 2.0? Ive been trying to plug in usb 2.0 (with an adapter) into the green spot. I may just have to buy a jumper for the green headers and plug the front usb 2.0 into the blue headers directly with no adapter.

Thanks for posting! I'm having the front I/O cable message pop-up after installing a sound card and plugging the audio header into it ( 2:54 ). Do you know where I could buy a jumper to use in my Dell Optiplex 3020 MT? Thanks again for posting!

Fun fact: If you happen to own a Bluetooth keyboard. The computer will not recognize any keyboard on boot (because no driver is loaded at the time) which will also throw an error saying no keyboard found. But then it will let you boot into windows without pressing F1 because... well you obviously cannot press F1 to continue. On the login screen, all drivers are loaded correctly, by then the computer will function normally.

What actually causes the "Alert! Front I/o cable failure" message? - Edit: it's the 3 pins that causes that, gotcha. Thanks a bunch.

Unfortunately this fix doesn't work on 3620 model's. Someone knows how to fix in this case? Thank you.

Hi, I have a 3020 MT mobo and am trying to use existing PSU with a 24PIN to 8PIN adapter. I short PIN 4 and 5 on PWR_SW and am using after market fan with PINs modified to fit what Dell requires. With CPU and memory in, all fans run when turning on the power. But there is no POST. Do I need to connect any other cables? Or do yo think that something in Mobo/CPU/memory is defective?

Wondering if i could get some help! Bridged the I/O connection but still getting front panel error? Thinking it might be something with the usb header?
Have a standard usb fitted but does the green usb header need to be bridged in any way?

Some usb front panel cable does not have a wire to connect the two pins as shown in the video so you'll still get the error. You can use a jumper for the green usb 2.0 pins and plug front panel cable to the blue pins next to it (they work the same). Or just go with a Bluetooth keyboard, it'll automatically bypass all error without you pressing F1

so much issues with this mother board. I am going to get more jumpers. I solved "Realtek PCIe controller keeps disconnecting" problem, so this I/O left.

Bro Normally psu bist light blink everytime you plug the computer. Right. But now , i plug no sign of light anymore.
    (Dell 3060 sff psu)
Bro how do know the power supply is dead. I try to test my psu, only psu motherboard and processor are intact. My psu is BIST BUTTON FREE. I remove the 4pin 8pin connector from the motherboard , then plug the psu. The Bist light glow for 3 second, i put back again, it won't glow. No sign of light,
I try also psu test using paper clip method jamper black and green the psu bist light glow and the fan is spinning
Is my motherboard is dead or my psu?
