Edward Norton will always be the Hulk and Bruce Banner, for me. Liv Tyler and Edward
    Norton chemistry was so realistic

Fun Fact: The Incredible Hulk is the spiritual sequel to Hulk (2003), starring Eric Bana. At the end of the film, Dr. Banner was in a South American jungle.
Also, the two students who film the campus fight were the reporter McGee and his publisher from the television series "The Incredible Hulk". It was a nice Easter Egg.
P.S. Dr. Stern (Mr. Blue) becomes The Leader, another Hulk supervillain. He becomes as smart as The Hulk is strong.

That 3rd transformation always gets me with how painful it is for Bruce Banner to transform into Hulk. Also, one of Hulk's abilities is that he draws more strength from his anger. The angrier he gets, the more powerful he becomes. It shows that Hulk can bench-press a tank without breaking a sweat, but his strength is virtually limitless. To answer any questions, Bruce Banner's grasp over Hulk depends on HOW he transforms. If it happens voluntarily, Hulk has more of an ability to reason and comprehend things. But if it happens through uncontrollable stimuli like anger, Hulk is the living equivalent of a wrecking ball.

No Tony didn't start all of this in the way you are thinking. His Dad would be more of a direct connection having worked closely with the Dr. in WWII that made the purest successful super soldier serum which turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. It was lost when he was killed so the only dosage that survived was in Steve. (for now). The military has been trying to replicate that original SS serum ever since. Every now and then they have breakthroughs which they try using different techniques. Bruce Banner was unknowingly in this program but under false pretenses. He thought he was working on a serum to help wounded soldiers using gamma radiation. But it was really another form of the super soldier serum in an attempt to create another Captain America if you will. It went very wrong or by the General's words...very right. Various super heroes in Marvel Comics got their powers through various attempts to recreate the original super serum that created Cap. I won't run down the list but it is significant.

Spoiler alert: This movie was supposed to be a sequel to the 2003 Hulk when Kevin feige change the story line to fit into his own universe but this movie still starts from the point where the 2003 Hulk movies left off from in Brazil 5 years ago. So Bruce been on the run for 5 years. Also the 2003 Hulk movie provides more information about Bruce and his backstory that may or may not coincide with the MCU version of the Hulk character. Mr Blue AKA Dr. Samuel Sterns is one of the Hulk's biggest villain called the leader who was arrested by the Black widow in a comic book that is Canon to the MCU. The leaders next appearance will be in Captain America 4. Exposure to a bruising blood is fatal 99% of the time and the only reason Mr Blue didn't die was because it was cloned blood and Emil blonsky survive exposure to Bruce and blood due to the super soldier serum in his system. The cure Bruce took only change the threshold for him turning into the Hulk so it can't happen by accident of just him getting angry anymore. The only reason Bruce hulk out after jumping out of a plane is because when Bruce dies he automatically turns into the Hulk. The post credit scene set up the fact that Bruce figured out if he triggered the transformation he has more control over the Hulk's actions. When judging this movie don't see it as a superhero movie look at it if it was a monster movie.

While this film is a pseudo-sequel to Ang Lee’s Hulk (2003), there are also a few Easter eggs/callbacks/references to the TV series The Incredible Hulk (1977-1982):
    - The opening flashback depicting Banner doing the experiment that causes him to become the Hulk was referencing the opening of the TV show where you’d hear the narrator say “Dr. David Banner. Physician-Scientist…”
    - As Banner was changing channels, he turns on an episode of a show called The Courtship of Eddie’s Father; which starred Bill Bixby, who also played David Banner in the Hulk TV show. He sadly died from cancer in 1993.
    - Banner telling the bullies in Brazilian “Don’t make me hungry” was a nod to the phrase “Don’t make me angry”; which is from the show and from the ‘03 film.
    - During each time Banner “hulks out” you see his eyes turn green. That was a callback to the series; when each time Banner became the Hulk, his eyes turned white.
    - The security guard whom Banner bribed with a pizza was played by Lou Ferrigno. Ferrigno was a bodybuilder who competed against Arnold Schwarzenegger for the Mr. Universe title in the mid-70’s, and played the Hulk on the TV show; and in its three made-for-TV reunion movies. He voiced the Hulk in the ‘96 cartoon series, and played another security guard with Stan Lee in the Ang Lee Hulk film.
    - During the battle between Hulk and the Army, you see two college students watching and recording the battle. One of the students was Jack McGee; who was a reporter for the college newspaper. This was a nod to the character on the TV show named Jack McGee; played by Jack Colvin. In the series, McGee witnessed events involving the Hulk and pursued him to the point of capturing him. Colvin played McGee for the show and in one of the three reunion movies. He also passed away in 2005.

Star Wars. Since you brought it up... George Lucas had to invent the technology to make Star Wars just about as he was filming it. Then, after a few years, he added the scenes and effects that he couldn't possibly have in the first edition. Sometime later. he made a third edition. Why he did episodes 4, 5 , and 6 first, is because he didn't have the tech to make 1, 2, and 3. I saw it new in the theater, and it was simply called "Star Wars." No "A New Hope." No #4. Watch a bit of Episode one, and then watch a bit of A New Hope. You'll understand! ;)
