I love old gshocks and I love how by putting a new Bezel and replacing the strap (if one can find the appropriate ones) can make them look brand new!
I have an old dw290 which has lost a bit of contrast in the digits. This g still looks crisp.

I’m wearing my 2017 DW 6900 just had battery changed 1/17/24
I scrubbed the band with a toothbrush and light dishwashing liquid. After that I used Armorall on the band it it looks brand new. These watches take a beating and works fantastically. 👊🏼👍🏻

The EL backlight system is being replaced by LED as Casio have tested the average EL as 3000 hours and LED as 70,000! Also the EL has to have an AC converter and the LED doesn't. From an engineering and cost perspective it is a no brainer. ✌️

I agree, a great watch with a beautiful story. Mine is from 1997. I also have the DW-6640, anniversary edition, but the original remains my favourite :)

I have an original DW-6600B the orange Fox Fire edition. Missing the bezel, I can’t find it anywhere as a replacement part.

yep, that was later coined the 'Speed'. It was the DW-5600C, with the full steel inner case. A great watch.

Got my GW-6900 Solar MB6 for $56 US about 4 months ago on Amazon. It's got the same case but I'm sticking w my updated modern GW-6900. How on earth do you get more Solar and MB6 value for $56?????

They were issue watches in SASR from about 1998. I had one because I served in the unit. From memory, you could go back in timesetting mode.

I have an 'M' on the steel back (where you have the 'H') with no 'Made in xxxxx' text. What model is that?
Interesting, Im not exactly sure, mine indicates made in Korea with the H code, it could be related to sold in Australia but im not 100% sure

Am fost deținătorul acestui model de ceas în anul 1997... dar am fost dezamăgit de rezistența acestuia la shock și la contactul cu apa... am alunecat pe taluzul unui baraj de acumulare..în cădere m am lovit la cap și cu brațul stâng de beton... mai departe am alunecat inconștient pentru câteva secunde în apă... după ce mi am revenit și am ieșit la mal acest ceas avea alarma pornită și afișajul gol.... a fost dezasamblat pentru uscare și apoi i am schimbat bateriile dar... afișajul de cifre nu a mai apărut în format întreg.... 😢🙆♂️
