    Great video. Good job comparing the two. It really helped me decide to get the Q2200 instead of the Q1200. The bigger size is worth it.

    Great comparison... Thanks for sharing. Actually, I though that differences were just a marketing strategy but I see now there are real differences between both. Thanks again.

      They are very similar but yet very different when it comes to size. I was surprised on how much of a difference in size they were between the two of them.

    We picked up the fuchsia Weber Q 1200 a couple weeks ago to upgrade our camping grill. I love it so much, I have been grilling on it at home even though I have the Weber Summit 670! I am just wanting to see what it's limits are, and so far I am so happy with the grill. I am commenting to tell you that my wife and I were looking at all the different colors, and we thought the fuchsia color just looked so cool too. It thought it was funny you mentioned the color, cause I really agreed!

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  8 лет назад +1

      Its unique! you don't see that color around much! I love them and find i use them a lot. I own 9 grills and I find myself using these more than the others. they are easy to cook on and since its my wife and I, they are the perfect size for a quick meal!

    How many can you feed on the Q1200? I have a biggish family but we are very active going to the beach, woods, mountains and sometimes staying at home for a barbecues. Is the Q2200 a hassle to take around places because of its size? And thanks for the video its amazing!

    Great video. Thanks for such detailed comparison. I'll probably go with a smaller version. Should be enough for two of us. In average how long one gas canister burns?

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  6 лет назад +1

      I dont recall since I never really pay attention but a bottle does last awhile. The bigger one obviously uses more propane but they aren't propane hogs! I think you will enjoy the smaller of the two. I just sold the larger once since the smaller one suited my needs just fine

    Good review. I'm looking for a grill that I can take car camping. What is the high cooking temp. for these grills? I love black diamond shaped grill marks on my steaks. Can these get hot enough for that? I have a rec tec pellet smoker that can barely reach 500 degrees and the grill marks that it leaves suck (and that is with grill grates too). What are your thoughts?

    • @tonybuddy123

    Does grease drip onto the floor from the front edge of the lid?

    • @tonybuddy123

      no I dont have that issue. the only time grease hits the ground is when it splashes from the food.

    Great video! I am looking at buying a Q1200 for camping but my worry is the height of the lid. If I wanted to do, say, a full chicken, I assume I could not stand it on end but would it fit length-wise? I'm also thinking a plate of nachos. Height-wise is my only concern. Do you have an opinion on that? :)

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  8 лет назад

      you will not have a problem with the height of the 1200 when it comes to cooking a chicken laying down or a plate of nachos. With the nachos, you just have to find the right pan to use with the weber because of the unique design of the lid. You will love your purchase. I take the 1200 boating and we love it!

  • @f5snopro11

    Great video! I’m a single guy in an apartment but i often have friends over and miss having a grill. I’m still not sure between the 1200 and the 2200 but leaning towards 2200 since the footprint is the same, as you mentioned. I mostly do chicken breasts and thighs, and sometimes do cook in bulk, so considering the 2200 for the slightly bigger space.
    Do you consider the 2200 still small enough to pop in the trunk of a car to go to a tailgate/beach/ camping/etc? Or does it start to feel annoying to drag that big of a grill around? Do you notice the 2200 to burn a lot more gas? Not sure if I’ll get a 10 or 20lb tank or just run the Coleman’s.

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  6 лет назад +1

      the 2200 is a great grill and should suit your needs. I haven't had any issues with taking it out because the footprint is the same as the 1200. The main difference is the height of the grill. I have come into some situations where I had to take the 1200 instead because the other one was too tall to fit everything I need to bring inside of the trunk. The 1200 is what I use the most while on the go because it typically stays in the boat. Im usually grilling for about 10 people and it does just fine but we are not all able to eat at once since I cant fit all the food on there at once.

    • @f5snopro11
      @f5snopro11 6 лет назад +1

      i ended up grabbing a q2200. i also got the half-skillet pannel for it. i really like it so far, my only complaint is that sometimes it struggles to get up to 400 or 450+ after food is already in there. im not sure if it's part because the steam from stuff is cooling it while cooking, but i can get it to about 550+ before food goes on but then after i close it, it'll struggle ot stay above 400.
      i have a feeling also that it's because im grilling in sub-30 degree weather. i'll test it out in some 50+ weather this coming week.

    great review thanks for the info, I got a question how is the paint holding up on the q2200? and what was your process on it ,I know you used the rustoleum high heat ultra but what steps did you take for that beautiful finish, it looks awesome!

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  8 лет назад

      Its holding up awesome. No problem what so ever! i just sanded it down with a high grit sand paper just to make sure the surface is a little rough so the paint has something to stick on. I literally sanded it really fast and didnt go that deep!

    Do you ever have problems with the flame not traveling through the entire gas pipe for even heat?

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  8 лет назад +2

      Yes i have. not very often but it happens usually when i start it up. if it doesn't correct itself within the first 10 minutes i would take out the gas pipe and use a stiff wire brush on top of the holes. Rinse it out with water and let it dry. it should work just fine after that. I hope that helps.

    For us apt dwellers with very limited patio space, the q1200 is the only way to go, the 2200 is just way too big and the q1200 has plenty enough space for just me and my wife. Not mention, most apt dwellers don't or can't use 20lb tanks

    • @tonybuddy123

      the link is in the description box above. its the weber q light. The one that I show in the video is an older version and they stop making them but I guess you can still find online. They came out with a newer version of this light for grills that were made after 2013 and that link is also in the description box.

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  8 лет назад +1

      Glad this review helped! I really like the grill light, its well built and lights up the grates. I don't use it much though cause i rarely grill in the late evening/night. I still wouldn't go without it though. Its one of those things that you might not use all the time but when you need it, it comes in handy! The light doesn't effect the fit of the cover at all. They use the same light by the way.

      q1200 might be a little tight for a full rack. The 2200 would fit a full rack. If you cut the rack in half you might be able to fit it in the 1200

    Thanks for the review. It helped me decide to go with the 1200. It will be used solely for camping and picnics for me and my 2 young daughters. Portability and usefulness are the 2 main factors. It will be packed with a cooler, chairs, tents, etc... I went with the green. It gets here in 2 days and I sure hope its big enough. Once it gets here I'll decide on a stand. I like the one meant for it but think I'm going to go with: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MRIHK3T/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza just for the versatility. I don't think I need anything with wheels. Not really sure yet though.

    I just got a 1200, and I love it so far. I hated the cart. Terribly designed, overpriced piece of junk! It was way too short (I’m 6’4”) and, because the handle swivels, it hit the back of my leg every time I took a step. As for the drip tray liners, don’t buy the Weber brand. I found a 50-pack on Amazon for $16.
