    Thank you This helps a lot. Did not know that they can come apart like that to wash. Saving up my money for one of these grills. Still debating between a propane or an electric. Electric is more money with more cooking time.

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  8 лет назад

      Thank you for your comment. These little grills are amazing. I am still debating on whether i should pick up the electric version of this grill (weber Q 1400/2400). I would like to see how they compare when it comes to cooking and temps between electric and propane.

    • @susangardiner2087
      @susangardiner2087 8 лет назад

      tonybuddy123 yeah. My research says that the electrics are good but you can't open up the lid as much to check on the meat because they will lose half thier heat each time you open the lid and they do not come with a version that has a temperature gauge on it. And it works better if the meat started cooking at room temperature. The Weber versions works better then other models. They are a lot more expensive though. Debating because the propane version cooks faster but the electric ones saves on purchasing propanes and don't have to worry about running out of propane while cooking. Thinking about it because wanting to cook on my balcony in the summer time so that I don't over heat the apartment in the summer time.

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  8 лет назад

      I do almost all of my cooking outdoors for that same reason you mentioned in your comment. I have yet to come across something i am not able to cook with one of my grills i own. I Purchased a brand new weber Q140 today on craigslist. Its the old model but there isn't much difference between the new and old model besides some minor cosmetic ones and the grates. I am going to make a video comparing the cook times between electric and propane. I am excited to see if there is a difference in performance. I should have that video done in the next week or so.

    • @susangardiner2087
      @susangardiner2087 8 лет назад

      tonybuddy123 yeah I have seen a youtube video of a guy bbqing a roast of lamb, pork roast and a beef roast. (all different videos) they had it on a rack that is sold separately from the weber but it was made for the weber. There was another one whom roasted a red, green and yellew peppers on the weber, another that sliced a zuchinni in slices and grilled that to go with his steaks. (this last one was done on an electric). Been learning lots. I am saving money to getting one A weber. I did my research and I liked it. A lot of bbq come with grills that are not cast iron while the weber has and it is good priced.

I called webber and they sent me out a new one asap free of charge. I dont know for sure but it may have been a design flaw that they were rectifying but it was sure nice to get fast free service. I found this video serching for a low flame solution with a standard 1lb bottle. I'm gonna give your fix a whirl. Thanks for a very nice video.

      Don't buy anything from Amazon. Bezos is a vile evil creature.
      Working for Amazon is as close you can get to a 3rd world forced labour camp.

    Did you repaint the lid? That looks really glossy

      yes I did. The one in this video was chipped when I pulled it out of the box and weber sent me a new lid so I decided to spray paint it to see how it would hold up and so far so good.

    can i connect this up 2 my M/H gas ?

      He means motorhome, I think. I connected one to my camp trailer before, and it was a simple plumbing job to take apart a fitting and put together what I needed to end up with a hose coming off the tank. On my motorhome, I wouldn't consider it worth the risk, because I'd be plumbing in a possible leak under the motorhome. On my trailer, the possible leak would have been out on the tongue, and therefore a small leak couldn't have ended up filling some compartment in my living space and blowing up or gassing me in my sleep. You would be using the regulator on your barbecue, and the pressure in the motor home tank will be about what you get with any large propane cylinder.

      I think it would depend if your Motorhome has a quick connect fitting off the side. My family has one where your able to connect other propane devices via quick connect and we ended up doing this with the weber Q. You will just need to make sure you take the regulator off the weber Q

    Im lucky if i can get mine to 400 degrees, cleaned everything and just terrible gas flow, all the more reason to stick with charcoal

      Mine only goes to 250°F now, so I guess it’s plugged with fat. Will clean in the weekend and hopefully will be able to reach 400°F

      @@ultimatemetalguitartones I drilled with the smallest bit I could get -1/16- at the end of the regulator assembly, there is a small orifice that was clogged up with grease. It was way too big! Now there is a huge yellow flame, but, I can regulate it with the knob. It is not perfect, because you can put way too much heat, but at least now I can control it. I should order another regulator assembly and drill it with something smaller than a 1/16 bit, if I can find it.

      Do get blue flame out of the little holes in the burner tube? This is the key as a blue flame is a lot hotter than a yellow or orange flame. Be safe and happy cooking.

    These grills are not that great. The regulators are junk. Weber will not send you one for free they are around $70. I have been through two already.
