  • This video discusses and demonstrates several aspects related to proper lubrication of any watch movement. Starting with the proper tools and clean, fresh lubricant is just as important to the longevity of a watch service as the placement. This and many other checks and adjustments are necessary for quality service, and a standard part of your education as a student at OSUIT. A cheap mineral oil. or even a animal oil based, so when it dry you will know its time for a service, if you use syntetics when you discover that watch needs a service it will be too late, you hve scored pivots.

^ please, nobody listen to this guy. This will cause a simple gasket change and oiling to turn into a complete movement disassembly and cleaning, quadrupling the cost of a service. The service interval will also be half as long, and will make overall maintainable cost 8x as much. Don't listen to this clown.
