Thank you for posting this...I sadly just bought a fake pair for $80 online. As soon as I received them, I knew something was off because the fit was totally different (long-time Salomon customer here). Everything you mentioned in the video is true about my pair.😔 I had no idea there were fakes out there! I submitted your video as part of my case evidence and hope I get a refund!🤞
Thanks so much for this video ! Your in-depth description helped me to realize I bought a “fake” pair just like the ones you’ve described here. Thanks for your detailed analysis.
So helpful! Ironically I was wearing some blue speedcross5 but came across some identical to the ones In your video at lame goodwill and sure thing! They were FAKE! Different exactly how you explained! Thank you and greetings from colorful Colorado🏔
I bought a pair of speedcross 2s on ebay to replace a worn out pair. I thought they were cheap (£30) because they were an older model. They came and looked identical to my old pair. However they lasted only a couple of months before literally falling apart. These tips are great but it's not easy to see these differences on a website. I would suggest if they are too cheap then they're fakes!
Turns out mine are fakes. They worked really well as general use trainers, for about three months, now the sole is coming off, it's perishing, the side ornamentation is peeling away. So much for that eBay bargain!!
The very obvious differences are inside the shoe. The fake one's are awful. The lining only covers the heel. It wears through quickly. The heel pocket loses it's support and crumples. The fake sole has to be replaced after limited mileage. The inside floor of the shoe is not neoprene. It is cheap canvas like stuff. The fake shoes wear out very rapidly. The external plastic cracks everywhere. The heel rubber collapses. I was sold a fake pair. They looked like the real deal but where never really comfortable and failed soon. I have an authentic pair which has 10 times the mileage of the fake pair and are still going strong.
Thanks for watching. Thought about that, but tried to keep it short and sweet to focus on the knock offs. Next time we'll do a longer more in depth video!
great video, do they still offer a 2 year warranty on their shoes? I've had all my salomon fall apart pre mature and was able to get them replaced under warranty.
According to their website, it does look like it's still 2 years. I'd recommend contacting the company to find out full details about their warranty and return policy! Here's a link that is helpful: www.salomon.com/en-us/warranty.html. Cheers!
Thank you for the video, but what is Salomon doing about it? This junk is all over eBay. eBay has a system in place, the Vero Reporting Tool, for manufacturer's to use to protect their brands. I reported these counterfeits to Salomon well over a year ago and the Chinese rip-offs are still alive and well. Salomon's failure to act, shows that they are either complicit or don't care about their customers.
@@no15minutecities True but when the difference is $20-50 cheaper for some knock off mass produced shoe is ridiculous to waste your money on what seams to be a gamble on whether or not the product would be sufficient enough for even 'light' use... Buy once cry once.

WOW thank you soo much , I nearly bought a fake today.

Thanks so much for this, I now have the info I need to return these knock offs that were sold to me as genuine!
You're welcome Samantha, glad I could help!
Good help, but what about the sole? You never talked about it and I think is a crucial part.

Is the LT thing the same in speedcross pro if its on the left its Original if its on the right its fake?
Would have been far better video to see comparison with the originals.....

Most notable is the tongue, the fakes have the bright yellow label

And another one on the side where it says Solomon the age shouldn’t be a capital if it’s a A then it’s fake
This speed cross 3 women, some of them has the A instead of the lowercase a: www.campsaver.com/salomon-speedcross-3-trail-running-shoe-mens.html
Should be a A not a lowercase a if it’s a lowercase H will if it’s not lowercase it is on real
Well shit...$10 on eBay. What do you expect.
But the Vietnamese sales woman said, they where authentic. I'll never get my $40 back now.
I found the fake ones crazy slippery on hard flat man made surfaces
quit buying fake knock off products!

Speed cross 3 were fake , comfortable for the 3 weeks I wore them and fell apart every where. Price is low…… so is the quality. Do not purchase.
