He would have probably finished in the top 10 if the bike was reliable...but it is not.
If Kove were smart, they would give him what is needed and sign him before another team does! He will only get better with time.

Electrical fault is bad engineering. You can basically burn the electric of my old kawasaki klr 250 , but still running because there is a dedicated coil on the stator for the ignition.

People dont realize that kove only gave him a bike and spare parts. He had to do all of the rest. He does not have a factory ride. This makes everything infinitely more difficult.
Also how rude is it to say people don't want him to ride for kove next year to his face? Very rude interviewer.
I Don’t think English is her first language, I thought it sounded like she was saying people were afraid he wasn’t going to ride for Kove next year,
@@willwalker8669 You are probably correct. I have a few Chinese friends and they frequently use the wrong syntax and get their message reversed from it's original meaning.

From his reaction I don't feel that is the case. He wasn't a factory rider, just one with a bike and some spares.
@@tcrossau I realise he was not a factory rider but got some support from the factory team during the race. It would be great if next year the collaboration was greater for sure..

He deserves a better ride hopefully hero or sherco grab him dont no if triumph will enter once they realise 450 but if you want to see him on a kove you must not like him 😂 poor dude looked everywhere but straight when asked if he wants to come back to kove😂

Kove has huge potential. Chinese companies have always been great at building motorcycles but lack some understanding on how motorcycle racing is done. For Kove to be competitive withe KTM, Honda, etc they need to put in a Factory suported effort and not reley on the importer or individual racers. Selling motorcycles is more about support to dealers, availability of spare parts, service manuals and mechanics, and building consumer confidence. When the Chinese companies understand this Kove and others will be successful as other manufacturers.
Maybe you missed the part how Mason got actually involved. He started to prepare for Dakar 2024 under KTM umbrella, but they kick him out during summer / post summer of 2023 because of cost savings in company. No one else offered the place. Then Kove come during end of November and offered at least support in some way so that he can actually race. Was not possible as factory driver. Can be done next year if they will agree now of course. So what was achieved in that short period of time with untested bike by him (he was having just about month on older version) is actually huge achievement. Honda build bike in 2013, first victory come in 2020 with Brabec. Kove bike come 2020, in 2023 first Dakar and all finished, now next Dakar and Mason even with all of the said above was able to finish stages on 3rd and 5th place and even be on 1st for some time. Does it mean that Honda is bad or that Kove still has 3 years as Honda to podium? ;-) And BTW there is a huge difference between Kove and Yuki, Kentoya, Keeway, CFMoto, Voge, Loncin, Benelli, QJMotor and so on. Kove is actually racing and with good results. There's a difference when you start something with a dream and path what to achieve or if you just do that for the market share, no matter if it is in US or China or Europe. Curious why KTM was not on podium this year. What will be the answer? Missing Mason, that even after all those years their bike still having problems, something completely else?
poor fella was always on a short road to a good hiding, didn't really have much of a chance in fairness with the amount of time he had with the bike before the start - 2 days? Come on, lady luck is not going to be handing out that much for free......
