  • I have had this bike for over 3 weeks now, and I have tried it everywhere from long sections of highway to completing a VCHSS race. It has truly reached that unicorn status in my opinion, and it comes into the market very aggressively priced. I took several hours of footage but a lot of it turned out to be unusable. Nevertheless, here are my initial thoughts.

    Appreciate this good, honest review. This bike is definately a game changer, hopefully it will be on sale here in Australia soon. Given a good dealer network & spares availability, the Kove 450 rally will be a world beater.

    Terrific video mate. I haven't seen too many videos of those bikes riding the sort of terrain that you did in this video. The bike does look very capable even though as you say it's not made for the tight stuff. But seeing is believing and it seemed to do it quite well. Cheers from Australia.

    Thanks for the informative video. I really like how you put the Kove threw a bunch of rigorous tests straight out of the crate. Several hundred miles on the asphalt and another couple hundred off-road. I’m impressed how the bike handled in a race straight out of a 2 1/2 hour ride on the highway.
    Please keep making videos on the entire Kove/GPX lineup. I’m very excited to see what this company has to offer. They have a lot of potential.
    Oh and Kudos for finishing a hare scramble on a rally bike!

    My plan is to replace my T7 with one of these as well. I have a Beta 390 for the tighter stuff but I want something that I can use in intermediate terrain that I can commute on as well. I thought the T7 was that bike, but it is just too top heavy for me off-road.

    • @EnduroActionCyclesLLC
      @EnduroActionCyclesLLC  9 месяцев назад

      That's what I did with this. I was surprised how well it does in the tighter stuff. If you come from an offroad back ground you can take this bike pretty deep into the woods. I hardly notice much difference between the two in highway speeds. this bike it truly is a unicorn!

    Perfect Test which you have done !
    Exactly for that type testing I am always searching "real life trail".
    I think nearly all brands of bikes does middle fast well. But this is the stuff where it really becomes interesting. How smoothly does it work on technical stuff: 1gear, clutch, all that handle stuff and feelings, does i bounce, how does approach on a steep slope.
    It is my personal dream bike but I would directly change the gear ratio into a shorter with putting a bigger ⚙️ chain wheel on the back.
    Nearly every rally/dual sport bike is to long in the first.
    Great Video and super worked out impressions 👍

    • @EnduroActionCyclesLLC
      @EnduroActionCyclesLLC  8 месяцев назад +1

      The bike is definitely suited for the more experienced dirt rider. First gear is perfect for the technical stuff as you need to keep momentum to let the suspension work. It does not like to go slow! Keep the rpms up and it will do anything you want it to. 2nd to 3rd gear is perfect for flowing through the woods trails and the clutch pull feels amazing. 51t rear sprocket works great for me opposed to stock 49t

    I would love to hear more about t7 vs kove from you, I am also considering selling my t7 to get the kove and your review has been the one that I identified the most with, we ride the same type of terrain and at a similar level, so I am listening :)

    • @EnduroActionCyclesLLC
      @EnduroActionCyclesLLC  5 месяцев назад +1

      The Kove is clearly more capable offroad but not as good on road as the T7. For the offroad focused adventure rider, I would recommend the Kove 450 Rally all day over the T7. With some modifications, the 450 Rally can be pretty good on road. Maybe better seat, upgraded wind screen, etc. The wind still tosses you around on the freeway, but I try to avoid that at all costs.

    Thanks for the video. I myself am considering an upgrade to my drz400s for here in interior Alaska. And the range on the Kove makes it tempting, as the long road miles to get to and from many of the better trails here make me need to carry extra fuel on the DRZ. Though I love the low end grunt on the DRZ, so I might miss that with the Kove.

    • @EnduroActionCyclesLLC
      @EnduroActionCyclesLLC  8 месяцев назад +1

      Don't let some of these reviews fool you. If you go up two or 3 teeth on the rear there is plenty low end grunt. The geometry of the bike makes the front end feel planted and hard to lift up so you need a little more technique but the power is there. When you get in the 7-8k rpm range it pulls to the moon! I think you would love it compared to your drz. I'm also a big fan of the suzuki line up

    • @banffdigger
      @banffdigger 8 месяцев назад +1

      I just watched a video from Chuck Harder he said it had more power then the dr650. People who say it has a soft bottom end might be comparing it to a mx or xc 450 which are a handful to ride on tight single track.

    • @EnduroActionCyclesLLC
      @EnduroActionCyclesLLC  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@banffdigger going up to a 51t rear sprocket compared to the 49t stock sprocket did help shift the power down a bit. It really does have a soft bottom end though as it was designed that way. I wouldn't say it's underwhelming but the guys that have their 300 two strokes or are used to riding their mx bikes like you said, they may complain more than others since they can't throttle wheelie this bike. It for sure doesn't lack any power.

    The promotional videos all claimed the dash could be used as a sat nav linking with think rider app - off road gpx files could then be viewed through the dash whilst speed and basic info were still retained but not showing so prominently nobody is covering this - does it work???

    • @EnduroActionCyclesLLC
      @EnduroActionCyclesLLC  9 месяцев назад +1

      This feature does not currently work in the US. I'm not sure what their plans are in terms of making it work but the "street legal" version will be out next year and maybe then it will be working. If you purchase one now you are being an early adopter and sometimes things like this come with it. The TFT display is very impressive and you can see the options in the dash for the feature you mentioned it just doesn't work yet.

    Did you intend to split the audio left and right?
    Do you have a take on this bike vs the crf 300 rally? I'm considering both rn but I am worried about the weight and just general handling for going on trails and trans euro tours.

    • @EnduroActionCyclesLLC
      @EnduroActionCyclesLLC  9 месяцев назад +2

      No I did not intend to split the audio I'm still figuring out the RUclips thing. I've never owned the crf but I hear that it's still typically a bit heavy and suspension suffers a bit. The Kove only wears it's weight in real tight sections when weaving in and out of trees. It cuts like a knife through the trails. If you're a bit shorter and not used to taller dirt bike seat heights I recommend getting the low version, but it sounds right for what you want!

    • @EnduroActionCyclesLLC

      It's much better everywhere in my opinion. It's very stable at speed and handles great through flowing single track, very planted. The 701 can do everything but excels at nothing. Power on the kove is not as strong but more fun as it lights up when you rip the throttle.
