Muito obrigado! 1) To swap the ECU must the battery be disconnected? 2) on the ECU airfilter box there is a transparent tube at the bottom. Does the open air filter box also have this tube? [3) does the "loudness" solely come from the exhaust or also from the open air box?]
1) yes, disconnect the battery 2) yes, new airbox comes with that tube - when you change airbox, remove the plastic washer at each screw otherwise you will likely loose them - like this guy did and I did! 3) both, but mine came with a DB Killer and it helps.

Looks like the first mod to do, but I have heard the Pro bike with that set up and its LOUD, just wondering if the kit but with the stock rear pipe will help...... short test of the std bike before I bought and yes its "strangled" by the Euro 5
you did the performance pack upgrade, not modifying it into a factory. For the factory kit there's another wiring loom, carbon navigation tower, other front fairings, rear fairing as well, fork, etc
Call it whatever you prefer, the factory bike is actually another bike but not legal to register in Europe! Nice to see you converting one to! Keep up with the content✌
I wonder if it will run fine with the new ECU and airbox but with the stock exhaust, it seems that the new exhaust is way to loud for most scenarios in the real worl
@@Prestonesfpv yep its loud! You could use a dbkiller, reading online forums the ecu dont like beeing mix matched, so each tune is for a specific setup…
I've first tried to mount the ECU and fire it up before mounting the airbox. And I did well, as it was faulty and the bike won't start. There has been some faulty ECUs sent to Uncle Wang. I'm waiting for a replacement one from him. He sent it right away.
This kit came from kove oficial dealer and it fired right up perfectly.. I think that you can mix and match some ecu and filter or exhaust, each ecu has its own tune specific to the exauhaust it needs and filter your problem could be that..
@@TheRide_Adv No, regardless of the filter, any ECU should let the bike run, even if poorly depending on the configuration. Wang told me it was faulty and I'm not the only one. He didn't even ask that I return it. Just have to wait for the new one...
As you say, its very loud, some talking about fitting a DB killer (decibel/sound muffler). Any views on how that works with the Factory Pro Kit (not straight through exhaust when have DB killer, so I wonder is it a as bad as having the CAT back in....).
Its loud comparing to the stock one but its not stupid loud that its undrivable.. and im actualy in a closed area so it seems much louder.. tested it in the trails and its perfect. Not too much nor too silent..
Would be interesting to see a dyno comparison between the two air boxes. My bike has the non euro one. But it’s SO loud. I’d probably be willing to sacrifice a couple horsepower if the noise reduction was big.
My god I hate technical inspections (itv) on Spain, they are a pain 😂, i got tired of changing just the slip ons of my Harley and now i just let the originals on, i would have paid a little more and go for the ajp pr7, being Portuguese if im not mistaken it's rare for you to go for the kove 😅
The thing is we don't have inspections for moto ye and we might not get it, our government are still discussing this, fingers crossed, I love Ajp but kove is a real Dakar bike, Ajp isn't.

Hey! You'll get wrong Fuelling. And be way too lean. (Leaner than eu5 regulations, so potential damage). When performing an open lid airbox or a decat(full pipe), you need to at least have an autotune piggyback or better the ECU mapped. So the bike can get proper fuelling! If is is just an exhaust slip-on, then no need to worry. Cheers
I tried the conversion to standard, so without changing the exhaust. For me the bike is ridiculously loud, I hate that. You cannot use it inside towns with a clear conscious mind.
I doubt it! I'm in the uk. I was thinking about complete exhaust change, but worried about eu regs. If I took stock pipe and cut out cats, I'm breaking the law! If I buy exhaust without cats, perfectly legal! Obviously with different exhaust and air intake, bike will need a retune!
@SergioromeroAlcántara24 I'm uk. My 2021 crf1100L has a metal tag on the front that states dB is measured at 30kph (which I find strange as were mph) at a distance I forget! I have a leo vince silencer dB killer out, sounds amazing, although louder than stock! Had it's 1st mot, exhaust wasn't even questioned!

Depends where you are. Here in Utah with the predominance of crazily overpowered and loud (both sound and personality-wise) side-by-sides conservatively guessing at a ratio of 100:1, a loud Kove is like pissing into the wind. To be fair the open intake noise so overburdens any sound the muffler can produce (I'm on the standard) its really no contest between the two for the rider.
You're a lousy mechanic: you undid (turned loose) the CO2 sensor withOUT undoing the connector, and screwed it back again also? That may have ruined the electrical connection - UNDO the cable first! Then the airfilter: it is NOT a TwinAir unit (they do make one though, aftermarket - and get this one because the OEM yellow one is shit!), and you did not oil the filter (it comes dry, UNoiled) so you'll screw up your motor, you'll "dust" it. But no worries as the yellow filter will also do this, it is crap, even when properly oiled! Get a TwinAir unit asap....

Im pretty happy with the end result and power, yes it's noisy, not intolerable and riding always with earplugs helps!
