- Mason Klein turned a lot of rally heads over the past two Dakar Rally seasons. With a win on stage two in 2023 and a top-overall position deep into the race, the young Californian was set up for an epic finish. But, Dakar happens. And it threw Mason to the dirt and he had to retire from the race. The following year has been challenging for Klein, and without an offer to race on factory machinery available to him, he's decided to go on his own with Kove for 2024.

I'm glad the Kove guys drove all night and day to pickup Mason's bike, from customs. They really came through.

I rarely follow Dakar very closely, but this year I’m going to. Because of Mason Klein. This kid has the talent to win the event and is definitely has the heart to win. I would love to see him do well on an unproven bike, basically with his own team. This makes a great Motorsport story!

Feel a bit sorry for him in regards to KTM pulling the pin as if had have known earlier there were other factory options.
I just hope the Kove bike is reliable and he gets to the end safely.

Great interview....I really want to see this kid do good this year...As Quin said , if he does good things support will follow...as far as the bike goes, Kove needs solid results so Im hoping they give him the support he is going to need, when he needs it..

Mason is awesome! Great interview. If he won Dakar as Malle Moto that would be absolutely insane and amazing.
Watching this pre-Dakar episode on January 7, after Mason led the way on Day 1 and pretty much humbled a lot of the factory guys, especially KTM.😉 Stay safe and hopefully you’ll make it to the end, Mason!
