    Am I the only one that thinks big James was the first, and started this trend

    • @deckmonkey1459
      @deckmonkey1459 10 месяцев назад +6

      Big James was not the first and everyone who dealt with him said he was a pain in the ass. It was his way or no way, far different from Darren listening to the team or making suggestions. Coach Rob has talked about how bad it was to deal with Big James and they still owe him money.

    A dad that is present, agreeable, able to work with others will extend a young riders career. There are plenty of examples of kids dropped off at the semi and raised by strangers and bad influences.

    Would you say the same thing regarding Tomac's or Deegan's fathers in reference to how much input they should have?

    • @giovanniandolina5620
      @giovanniandolina5620 10 месяцев назад

      I would definitely say it’s an ego thing, John Tomac, Brian Deegan, Daren, they aren’t trying to live through their kids, they are successful and confident, I remember an interview w/ John Tomac and he said he never pushed Eli to ride until Eli was 13-14 when he said if you want to be pro, you have to make the choice now. It seems to be the Dad’s that have the chip on their shoulder about their shortcomings that cause problems. Anyway, having confidence in yourself as a Dad and instilling work ethic and confidence in your kids is the key. It’s not easy, you have to be a resilient tough person to stay confident, positive, and respectful in this i-world we now live in!!

    It’s not just Darren.. you’ve got Sexton‘s dad too. Shoot, you’ve got Deegan with fingers all in the pie. I think the hardest part is understanding that your kid will never amount to shit in this sport. That’s just a hard fact dads. Every time I’m at Perris, Fox, Elsinore, or Cahuilla I always see a few dudes that leave me with my jaw dropped. Seriously! like how in the fuck did you just do what I just saw?!
    And the crazy thing is.. most of these guys won’t even make it into a main event, let alone stand on the top part of the box. This is reserved for the one percent of the one percent. Yeah,, your kid isn’t gonna be up there😆

      Brian made his kid into a spoiled little media personality. Darren made his kids into humble hardworking champions. Big difference there bud.

    • @thflash09msr
      @thflash09msr 10 месяцев назад

      @@seanhaberman4619 You can think the kid is spoiled all you want, but he’s still a badass at the end of the day. He could have it made by choosing to just sit at home and collect paychecks, but he doesn’t. He works his butt off and is willing to send a lot of things a lot of people wouldn’t even attempt. It’s not Haiden’s fault his dad started with nothing and built something that’s worth millions. I mean two of his kids are extremely successful and I won’t count Huck because he’s still a kid.
