Big James was not the first and everyone who dealt with him said he was a pain in the ass. It was his way or no way, far different from Darren listening to the team or making suggestions. Coach Rob has talked about how bad it was to deal with Big James and they still owe him money.
I've grown up around a lot of different motorsports and I feel like off-road sports, specially moto has the best family values.. at least in my life experience.
A dad that is present, agreeable, able to work with others will extend a young riders career. There are plenty of examples of kids dropped off at the semi and raised by strangers and bad influences.
Let’s not forget about mum behind the scenes keeping everyone level headed when she needs 2 , if an when Darren needs a tune up I 💯percent I guarantee mum is right there front an centre
Darren is a awesome genuine guy and it shows how the usa culture has deteriorated to these entitled moto dads and moms acting ridiculous shows what hard work and some humiltity will do for someones character
"Let me rephrase that.Get your arse over here" 😅😅😅 Lately i've been reading lots of stuff about 'copying the lawrences example'. It's great to hear but i dont think it will be easy! The family get a bunch of critical factors right, some of which you may not be able to buy or learn
I would definitely say it’s an ego thing, John Tomac, Brian Deegan, Daren, they aren’t trying to live through their kids, they are successful and confident, I remember an interview w/ John Tomac and he said he never pushed Eli to ride until Eli was 13-14 when he said if you want to be pro, you have to make the choice now. It seems to be the Dad’s that have the chip on their shoulder about their shortcomings that cause problems. Anyway, having confidence in yourself as a Dad and instilling work ethic and confidence in your kids is the key. It’s not easy, you have to be a resilient tough person to stay confident, positive, and respectful in this i-world we now live in!!

It’s not just Darren.. you’ve got Sexton‘s dad too. Shoot, you’ve got Deegan with fingers all in the pie. I think the hardest part is understanding that your kid will never amount to shit in this sport. That’s just a hard fact dads. Every time I’m at Perris, Fox, Elsinore, or Cahuilla I always see a few dudes that leave me with my jaw dropped. Seriously! like how in the fuck did you just do what I just saw?! And the crazy thing is.. most of these guys won’t even make it into a main event, let alone stand on the top part of the box. This is reserved for the one percent of the one percent. Yeah,, your kid isn’t gonna be up there😆
And from the way lars sounds it sounds like dazzy should be getting paid by honda because of how he smooths over any issues and hes a go between but if he was getting paid by honda id imagine itd be a conflict of interest
I think bringing your kids up in the sport starting from them being on 50s all the way through amatures and now pros why wouldn't you want to be in their program??
@@seanhaberman4619 You can think the kid is spoiled all you want, but he’s still a badass at the end of the day. He could have it made by choosing to just sit at home and collect paychecks, but he doesn’t. He works his butt off and is willing to send a lot of things a lot of people wouldn’t even attempt. It’s not Haiden’s fault his dad started with nothing and built something that’s worth millions. I mean two of his kids are extremely successful and I won’t count Huck because he’s still a kid.
It would be so awesome to get Darren on here!
Dazzy comes across as such a pure and genuine guy. No surprise to see his kids stay levelheaded with the success.
We Need a podcast with Darren
YES!
great interview, great dads make great kids!
100percent
Darren is super cool loved the dad since day 1 and he has so much charm and is so funny... The real Top G
Jace- Get Dazzy on the show!!
Am I the only one that thinks big James was the first, and started this trend
Big James was not the first and everyone who dealt with him said he was a pain in the ass. It was his way or no way, far different from Darren listening to the team or making suggestions. Coach Rob has talked about how bad it was to deal with Big James and they still owe him money.
MC’s father was in the pits
I agree with this good point. James owes a lot to his dad for sure
No.. maybe he was the first father that got that much air time
Big James was a problem for teams.
He sounds like a awesome parent
Good parenting makes Good people let's all make the effort
You got that right.
I've grown up around a lot of different motorsports and I feel like off-road sports, specially moto has the best family values.. at least in my life experience.
Agreed. Dirt oval guys seem to pound respect into their kids.
Sorry, half of them do.
Dazzy is great, gave my son and I 20 minutes of his time to talk about life. He gave us great advice, sell the bikes and buy golf clubs! Hahah.
So true the last of a different breed I’m 45 and I try to do what my pops done with me with my lad but that mentality is fast disappearing
To many single moms raising boys!..
I'm two years older than ET3 and grew up in Cortez... Dazzy reminds me a lot of John Tomac and how he interacts with Eli
Get Darren on!
Let me rephrase this, get on the bike, lol classic!
A dad that is present, agreeable, able to work with others will extend a young riders career. There are plenty of examples of kids dropped off at the semi and raised by strangers and bad influences.
Don’t forget the mom…..heck the entire family is amazing
Get them both on the show!
Darren is not the first fully involved moto dad. There just wasn't cameras everywhere like there are now.
Dazzy would be the most watched Gypsy tales Pod ever
The Alessi brothers dad held them back. Too bad because Mike was a beast
Mike larocco dad was heavily involved with Mike Mx career.
Let’s not forget about mum behind the scenes keeping everyone level headed when she needs 2 , if an when Darren needs a tune up I 💯percent I guarantee mum is right there front an centre
Dazza needs to get on here Jase
Yesssir 😁👍🏻

Ehhh pretty sweeping statement with only fractional truth. Keep those eyes open.

Would you say the same thing regarding Tomac's or Deegan's fathers in reference to how much input they should have?

"Youve seen so many generations" he said that like hes 65 or 70 i dont even think hes 40 yet
The comments are always entertaining 😂 “his dad is better than his dad ! 🤣
Money ain't nothing 👏👍
I’d rather meet the Dad over Jett and Hunter 🤦🏻♂️ 😂

Unfortunately, you're absolutely right.
Not that rare in Oz, I move in vintage mx circles (older riders), we are all like Daz.

First comment
First to the line is a goon move.
need a new watch face mate?
Brain Deegan started this trend. Don’t blame Darren.
how do you say brian started it? Hunter i 6 years older than Haiden. Darren has done it since Day 1. took the boys to europe first?
I’d say big James is the one who started it.
Brian made his kid into a spoiled little media personality. Darren made his kids into humble hardworking champions. Big difference there bud.
