My husband and I are die hard fans. We've been married for 9 years and our first date was Seattle supercross and we had a few years where we couldn't make it because of his job but he got a new job and now we go every year. We live 8 hours from Seattle but still make the effort to go. Even if it's high up in the stadium. We follow everything motocross.
I love Gypsy Tales, but man ya missed the mark on this one. You have a fantastically interesting dude sitting across from you, and ya spent over an hour rambling about the same mediocre ideas for improving the sport that you’ve already been over. Do a solo podcast if ya wanna ramble about some shit. It’s all good. But ya got Lars Lindstrom, and I’d like to hear His story. It’s like you say, it’s about the stories. Ya know what’s better than talking about stories? Letting one of the best team managers in the sport tell his. Much love. Thanks for making all of these. Stoked to keep listening 💗
I actually agree with this comment (apart from the mediocre ideas part). In my defense, ya think 3 hours is a lot of time but sometimes it just gets away from me. Best part about it is Lars can come on again 🤟🏼
The Best moto podcast ever right here! 🔥 always something a little different and it’s awesome to get all this insight. Especially after being in the sport at an amateur level for 20 years.
Jas, I very rarely comment on any form of media.... but I want to say with absolute conviction that you were born to do these interviews. Your ability to take any person, any background, any nationality, and clearly get them to comfortably converse with you for hours, on a vast array of topics.... is unique. Thrilled to bits you do what you do. Love listening to the podcasts. And quietly proud as F that there is yet another Aussie out there killing it on the global stage. (That said, around your mates, I bet you'd be like the donkey out of Shrek - Talking donkey? It's getting him to shut up that's the trick! ) :D Good job man!
Long time listener, you been smashing out this great podcasts with great MX figures, well done Jase you should be proud. Get that RV fellow on here and feed him a couple of brews.
Awesome episode!! Big Lawrence fan; Dazzy’s post A1 interview with gatedrop news was badass!…. Being the SMX series brought back the blue/yellow championship number plates it would be cool if HRC does a replica/throwback of David Bailey’s Grand National Championship bike with Jett’s, for at least round anyways. I thought Bailey’s CR250 with blue/yellow #1, blue seat, & gold rims looked so damn rad!🤘🏻
Man if he keeps this pace up. Carmichael might be in trouble. Obviously we are about 8 more seasons away from that. But, what a hell of a start. Let’s see him win 7 premier titles outdoors, and 5 back to back indoors.
@@powertoyz if Tomac started beating Jett and winning every race in supercross and outdoors I'm sure it wouldn't be boring all the sudden, it wasn't boring when McGrath, RC, Stewart were dominating...
The Lawrence Brothers are good, no doubt.....rather than watching 1 guy dominate....I'd rather have a championship come down to the final race, winner takes all. Little more exciting as a fan, to have that.
I agree with you. We have one of the best sports going. The problem is the eyes on the viewership i.e. TV and things like this are very low compared to other sports. It’s unfortunate.
The Lamson bike from 95 is one I would love to see revived. That year at Southwick was the first national I ever saw as a young kid and that bike was so much faster than everything else it was incredible. The exhaust even smelled different. They had that thing flying. Would love to know what factory tricks they had in that thing.
If you can compare stats with 4t era vs 2stroke era as he records show, then you can compare what winning everything in a calendar year was! Yamaha did it first 1978 all major titles in the US every class and imo the Trans AMA was far more prestigious than SMX currently is! People forget! Know your history! Also they clean sweeped title available, that's all you can do! Can't pick as choose! Good Interview, great to hear some insight inside Honda! Also congrats to Honda Lars etc for what they achieved in 2023!
1:03:00 letting riders know where the track is getting slow/sketchy without the rider needing to figure it out themselves or read the board is massive. If the guy in front needs to switch lanes defensively without having to check back, it could make races boring. Or it could make it even crazier when a team tells the guy in 2nd to go rip a line only the backmarkers are running
Every team has todo 3 races a year on a 2 stroke. But they get to choose which races. Add a bit of F1 type strategy. These last 2 mud races would have been great races to burn your 2 stroke tickets where they’re already anyone’s race. Fans love it,riders love it. Entertainment gets a hoot of a talking point for season strategy.kinda like the monster cup joker lane.
Hey Jase, I have an idea for a video…….. Get a top privateer, to do a lap time on their current bike, then get a top team ( Star, PC,HRC ? ) to set one of their bikes up for them and do a back to back on the lap time difference between privateer and factory equipment. Not sure if this could ever be set up, but I bet it would get crazy views, well, at least one, because I would watch it 😀👍
I want to see jorge prado race in ama outdoor season with how well he did at A1 with such little supercross experience he would most likely do even better outdoors
Of course he would do better outdoors, he's a multi time motox world champion, and he and herlings have had many awesome battles.. think how well herlings did at ironman a few years ago with just a couple of days riding before he raced, so I think Prado would have no problem standing on the podium. Even winning wouldn't be a surprise!
Instead of pit boards boards down the straight do only in helmet com down the straight away, have it turn on and off as with a sensor going into pit lane
Try on track communication in the electric world to prove it works! Start in smaller series that will allow electric it's own class and build from there.
The track situation would it not be better for the tracks to be built say 2 to 3 weeks in advance and just constantly packed for the 3 weeks. Yes it will make tracks a little more slicker but as you said you come back to tyer choice bigger short blocks softer compound even going as far as slicks or groved slicks. You look at dirt track go carts they run slicks and run on super hard packed dirt and have huge traction, look at speedway bike, cars there Tyers aren't knobed but still have awesome traction while going sideways once again track is super hard packed. 2 days prep/build isn't enough time for the dirt settle getting all the air pockets out and that's where the tracks are breaking down due to small pockets of air in the dirt allowing it to break down and move/sink.
Hey Jase, given the disturbing numbers of supercross/motocross injuries, why doesn’t the ama have there riders testing wearing air-bag safety suits/vests similar to that of motoGP?? If Marc Marquez can come off a motoGP bike at over 320km/h & get up and race the next day.. do you think a supercross or motocross rider would benefit from an airbag in an off in the whoops into the face of a jump ect?
Stand alone. Fim runs Des nations. Lowest scores wins at Des nations. Smx the most points win in the three races. Smx field set by the sx and mx points totals and the lcq.
This quote sums up my view on this interviewing style; @jasonperry9923, "I’d like to hear His story". Pretty much why I only watch very little on here nowadays. It's a real shame, because there are some very interesting guests on the channel.
Yes, I thought it was very cringeworthy. I stopped watching the channel a while ago, as I felt it was more about the Jason telling his story, rather than drawing the person being interviewed out. Very frustrating.
My predictions for Anaheim 1 1. Jett Lawrence 2. Chase Sexton 3. Eli Tomac 4. Malcom Stewart 5. Jason Anderson 6. Cooper Webb 7. Ken Roczen 8. Hunter Lawrence 9. Justin Barcia 10. Dylan Ferrandis 11. Isn't monster jam a staged show? I believe they pick the winner for each show. I worry about supercross being turned into that with field Motorsports getting involved. If it does, I'm done watching.
Feld has been involved for a long time. They have done very little to affect results. Other than change race format to time not laps and adding triple crown.
That's good to know. I stopped watching shortly after Carmichael retired, and knew from a guy that had been involved in monster trucks, so I heard how they rigged some of the racing. That's good to hear they aren't going to try to do that....
I feel that the emphasis on Supercross is out of proportion.. To most moto fans outdoors is where its at best, rider over the 2 motos takes the overall. Most dirtbike owners have ridden an outdoor track, a big majority will have raced outdoors even just at a junior or local level. No one makes a Supercross bike, its just a motocross bike with mods. Indoors just feels like a , sideSHOW like monster truck racing or FMX. Keep the city folks entertained once a year.
