Apparently they retcon the rat tail from FF1 in FF Stranger of Paradise as some artifact that was simply disguised to look that way.
I read that on TV Tropes, but it shows they realize how silly it seemed.
As for FFXI, there are different kinds of weapons kills that can be unlocked in different ways, which may count based on other things in the video, and after being done with the final level cap, there's still Job Points, which improve selected skills for a specific job while adding additional buffs and even sometimes skill to that job the more point you allocate - and when you're done with that, there are Mastery points that can increase your stats and increase the sub-job level under that job beyond the usual half, opening up access to more skills.
Oh, and there are also quests which can increase the maximum level of your Trust NPC party members (and a separate one for the older Adventuring Fellow system, which is barely acknowledged since Trusts were introduced, but which offers extra flexibility).

I literally unlocked all the "normal", mythic and empyrean Weapon Skills, spending a few million gils and dozens of hours on it.
I have all jobs at 99, 2 of them mastered (Warrior and Thief) and did those Alter Ego boosting Records of Eminence objectives.
.... yet I COMPLETELY forgot to talk about them in the video.
      I'm a failure, lol.

Also, with my train of thought, I should have also talked about how the 9 classes in FF14 become jobs, which are akin to the evolved jobs of FF1 as they are better.

Very nice video, always love this type of recaps. Also: I love the explanation of the Crisis level in FF8, a very spot-on animation 😅

Thanks, at first, I planned on just having a series of ingame screenshots zoomed on the relevant parts of the UI with things getting progressively worse.
But then I thought "You know what? I made some crappy drawings and animations for that FF8 video ( ruclips.net/video/wrW7O9JF_QI/видео.html ) so why not try to make it a habit of having something like this for the FF8 part from now on?"
      Glad it was clear enough.

In FF6 they almost never trigger even if you have 1 HP left trance ends after a battle does so it sucks when a party member goes into trance mode at the SAME time a boss fight ends so that you can't do anything with it the PS4 remaster fixes that the Infinite HP MP cheat is also a start EVERY battle in Trance mode cheat once trance unlocked.
But that made that GOD mode cheat in the remaster more ANNOYING then Good.

      I think you meant FF9.
Trance was one of those aspects I really disliked in the game despite loving most of it.

ITs both FF6 kind of had limit breaks but they never really trigger at 1 HP left.
As for Trance it still sucks in FF9 when you go into that mode AND END a battle at the same time.

@@veghesther3204 I don't know where you got that "1 HP left" thing from, I'd be genuinely curious to read that.
The wiki and other sites I looked up only explain that the Desperation Attacks have a 1 in 16 chance to activate if the character is below 1/8 of its HP.
1 HP seems like the only constant at which Desperation might occur.
