Alternate Video Title: Book Nerd Homework Also, you're going to love Ascendant! Its a good coming of age type feel. The relationship between food and the dragons is a fun twist.
"I need to just not sleep" I feel you there. My plans for the summer is to tackle some books i got for review that i have had for way too long and still haven't read yet
Absolutely here for the spoiler filled vlogs!!! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on First Law, really hope it lives up to the hype for you. And good luck with trying to sample as many authors as you can before the convention, hope it's gonna be a blast for you! 🤩
Both! Lots of reviewers have a video break between the non-spoiler and the spoiler section. I’m so excited you’re going to WorldCon! Can’t wait to see the vlog from that. I’m currently in the middle of Robin Hobb’s little known Soldier Son trilogy. Then I’ll see what I’m in the mood for. Lol😅
Ascendant is between YA and adult. You can say that it’s an adult fantasy without being dark. The Rise of the Ranger is a very very fast read. You’d be surprised how fast.
The inly thing that im determined to do in-between all of the other books is a reread (listen) to Pip & Flinx, and The Dragon Riders of Pern. I finished one of the audiobooks that i had been waiting for last week: The Daughters' War and now um waiting for the next on August 6th: The House of Bone and Rain. 🙌🏻 Have fun at World Con!!!
So excited for you to read First Law, and spoiler filled chat please! I wish I was going to World Con, def on my bucket list! Excited for you to go and also for this secret video😅
Oh yay!! I'll also be at World Con :) It's WILD how many people are going to be there. The audio for Abercromie is definitely the way to go...Pacey is on a whole other level! Ascendant has been on the TBR for a long while. I agree it seems like it'll be a nice return to that "classic" feel Excited to see the new series! 👀
I've recently been catching up on Sanderson. Just about finished era 2 and I've enjoyed it a surprising amount. The depth isn't quite there, but the characters and plotting are still really good.
Great reading list, I'm planning to read the First Law trilogy in August as well. Coincidentally I also bought Cahill, Quaintrell and Miller on the Day of the Dragon last year. Haven't gotten a chance to read them yet, so very curious for your feedback.
Yeah, I think that spoiler reviews are good, although for book reviews I do prefer an honest overview and a comparison to other similar authors. Thus year I am reading 16 Robin Hobb books, with a different standalone book by another author in-between each series. I'm 4 books in and totally love everything about Hobbs books. They are a roller coaster ride of highs and lows with so much character development and story. Good luck with your writing and TBR 👍
About to start First Law. Listened once but missed too much. Time to Kindle it this time. Also bought the Farseer Trilogy I found in one volume So many books!!! I need to live a really long time!!🤣 I vote for spoiler on first blade
Hi Andrew, your TBR looks very nice! The Echoes Saga is really great. Indeed, it has dwarfes, elves, orcs, dragons and other creatures. There is magic, worldbuilding and lore, ... I'm currently in the 5th book and having a blast. I think you'll love it. Also, I hope you enjoy the Bands of Mourning. For me, that was the best book of Era 2 :) Enjoy! Greetings.
Hope you enjoy Ascendant! I call it ageless and timeless, and things darken as the series goes on. Will happily sign it at WorldCon if you can lug it with you 😂
I tried reading the first books of several series last year, thinking I would pick up the next book in each series the following month. I started with 4 series and as I finished one, I could start a new one. It got away from me, and now I find myself having read The Blade Itself (back in December 2023) but haven't read the rest of the series, nor can I remember where the characters ended up! I'm planning to reread it soon!
I'm close to finishing book 3 of the first law trilogy, so I don't mind a spoiler video for book 1... But I think you're brave for reading Assassin's Quest and The blade itself at the same time... Don't get me wrong, I love both these authors, but both books have some serious pacing issues... Hang in there !
Spoiler filled for first law! I can actually watch that one as I've read this one!
Exactly 🎉
Let’s get after some super spoiler filled on our homie Abercrombie
“It might be the dumbest video I’ve ever made.” Okay then Andrew. I’m ready 😂😂😂
Happy reading! Spoiler filled cuz I’ve read those books and they’ve been out a while
Spoiled filled, and the audio is the correct way to go with anything first law.
Agree! Loved the audio for the trilogy, Steven Pacey enhances the books, Joe Abercrombie says this.

Thanks for sharing A Princess of Oldir, my friend. I'm not nervously waiting to hear your thoughts. Not at all.

Yes to audio First Law 🙌🏻
Don’t know if anyone has said but Mistborn: Secret History is set alongside the original trilogy but intended to be read after Bands of Mourning 👍🏻
I have started Ascendan'ts audio book this week, the narration is really good and I'm loving the story so far - 4h in!
So excited for you to read First Law, and spoiler filled chat please! I wish I was going to World Con, def on my bucket list! Excited for you to go and also for this secret video😅

Probably mood read but I'm for sure picking up the Winter King by Bernard Cornwell
Always a fun time 🎉

RUclips keeps dropping my subscriptions for some reason, so I subbed again. Happy Reading! 😎📚👍
Enjoyed Ascendant

I can’t wait! Excited for the progression elements too. And thank you!

FOOOOOL! lost metal and bands of Mourning have to read like rn rn
I’m on it!
If you do a spoiler free First Law vid we could do a spoiler filled together, as I have it on my near future TBR!
Follow up comment! You should read Lost Metal before Stormlight 5, I expect it will be relevant.
It looks like it’ll be spoiler filled but always up for a spoiler discussion too!
I'm close to finishing book 3 of the first law trilogy, so I don't mind a spoiler video for book 1...
But I think you're brave for reading Assassin's Quest and The blade itself at the same time... Don't get me wrong, I love both these authors, but both books have some serious pacing issues... Hang in there !
don't worry about spoilers for first law. there is no plot to spoil XD.
Abercrombie!!
I love Wax and Wayne. Unpopular opinion but I really enjoyed Mistborn era 2. Was a fun ride
I loved the first two! Wax and Wayne are great characters
Happy reading to you!! 😊
Clay Harmon's sequel got a big demotion from the first books hardcover. Did it not sell well maybe?
Obviously spoiler filled 🙌🏻👻 Joe Abercrombie
I hear Elements of Time has heaps of dragons 🐉
Hahahaha I’m sure Sam said that or something
You should read secret history before reading Bands of Mourning 🤔😁
You're going to love First Law, and I'd say spoiler-filled.
Spoiler filled for first law as well ✌️
Spoiler filled for First Law please 🙏
Also how do you reach beta readers for your novels?
I usually put out a Google form on an Instagram story. There is currently one on my linktree for beta readers!
Why isn’t the Judas blossom on your tbr ? The authors going to world con!
I can’t read as fast as you Mair haha
@@the_fools_tale hahaha but it’s such a short book!
Spoiler video for first law since you are the only one who hasn't read it yet
Are you also planning to sleep next month? 😁
Sleep is for the weak
Spoiler filled for sure!
