@EuServers lol, I think Apple was the one releasing updates to nerf performance to encourage upgrades. My note 20 ultra has better performance now than it did at release.
I'm honestly looking forward to what Samsung could offer in the future. At least I know they're listening to their consumers little by little. I hope they'll improve on app optimization, gaming, and battery (even though I know it's better now, it could still be more so). So far, I'm completely happy with my S23 Ultra! The iphone 14 had a downright hellscape of a release with their cameras vibrating into oblivion and so so many bugs and glitches, especially with the dynamic island. 1) Pixel 7 Pro has arguably the best camera between all of them. Seems like a strange ommision from a review about 3 phones designed with mobile photography in mind. 2) Pictures take longer on the pixel because of the post processing which is more complex (it uses AI, and a whole other host of features such as auto lens distortion correction), not because of the processor speed. Also, it only feels slower because you have the animation speed set to the default speed setting. Go into developer options and set animations to 0.5X and it will be just as fast as the other 2. 3) How are you going to talk about software and not mention the literal best parts about the pixel? Call screening. Direct my Call. Hold for me. Clear voice. Voice to text that doesn't suck. All of these make using the phone.. as a phone a better experience. Otherwise good review.
I believe the Pixel does have a fatal flaw in having very poor network connectivity, it tried so hard to be a camera, it forgot it is a PHONE first and foremost!! In my country people are regretting buying it because the network connectivity is abysmal. They cut the costs in all the wrong places to make it cheaper.... that said I still love Pixels, just hope they can justify being compared to the other best phones on the planet.
@@fredsigu6684he said 1500 nits, if I am not wrong. Although I agree with the OP's comment, he did skimp over a lot of features on both the Android phones, Pixel especially.
I love my S23 Ultra. Customers love using the pen for signatures on invoices rather than using their finger in a box on a tablet. I find it useful to take quick notes as I write faster than typing (odd, I know). Autocorrect also doesn't screw that up. This is the first flagship phone I've gotten since the S8+. My battery lasts for a solid 18-22 hours and does great for work as well as home life. Can't complain about this investment. Just hope it lasts for quite awhile as I spent over a grand on this
this year ı prefer s23u. this gen galaxy is the best flag ship for me. good upgrade compare to last years (video, photo, battery display and chipset). ı wont change my phone (ı am 13 pro user) beacuse ı love my ecosystem but so good for galaxy owners.
Have a Pixel 7 but couldn't resist getting a S23 Ultra with the deal I managed to get. Pixel is good, but the lack of telephoto lens, only 128GB storage, and daily modem issues have left me wanting more. For $600 though, it's much more than half the phone that I'm sure the S23 Ultra will be
I kinda think he looked over some of the use cases for the S Pen. I use it for way more than quick notes. Number one being a shutter button which is great when you want to take pictures of you and your family from a short distance. It makes editing easier, great for games that I tend to fat-finger, great for smart select and so on...
Watching on my s23 ultra right now. Believe it or not I upgraded from a Razer Phone 2, which I absolutely loved. I thought it would be difficult to find a phone which was as perfect for me as that Razer Phone was, but this Samsung does that and more. The only thing I miss is the rgb logo on the back lol
Had the s21 ultra now I got the s23 ultra Alot of the improvements, but the best one I would like to point out is the battery!!! Amazing job 👏 last the whole day
I don't understand why you said that the S23 ultra video quality not good vs the iPhone and the pixel. I have the S23 ultra and the video quality is amazing
6:26 There was no reason for you to make the argument about the IPhone having better video quality than the S23U. I paused the video, checked for quality overall; they're about even in 4K30fps, with the S23U just having less sharpening on the buildings in the background & less artifacts in the water. Creators need to stop handing Apple favors in the camera department, because honestly, there are so many androids out there that are proven to be better. MKBH even made a video that suggests Apple not even being as good as people say it is.
It has been like ages when an RUclipsr called S Pen a gimmick. There is literally no phone which makes video editing, masking, sketching ( I mean it.) ,highlighting, croping, singing, Photo clicking, hovering to check whtssp mssgs without reading👌😅 this is a real pen and more integrated in os than apple pencil.
For who wants a productivity phone Note/Ultra has no competition. iPhone it's for the Apple users only. And Pixel phone has better software. Overall Samsung S23 Ultra is the best for me and it will remain in the first place for a long time.. Honestly I think that this vid is a bit unfair and a bit early, since S23 Ultra is a new phone without all these optimization patches received like the other two..
Pixel has cleaner software, but really lacks features, so it's only better if you want a barebones Android experience. I have a P7 Pro, but really tempted by 23 Ultra because of battery life and s pen
A great comparison of flagships iPhone Pro Max, Pixel 7 Pro, and Samsung S23 Ultra. All are top with their respective niches, so it truly is a personal priority issue. I'm especially curious about the comparative battery testing, since battery longevity is among top buyer priorities. Thank you!
Omg, the link issue with iPhone drives me crazy!! That and the limitations/frustrations with Siri as well as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor are a few of the reasons why I’m switching to the Samsung Galaxy after using strictly iPhones since the 4s. Apple is content resting on their laurels and are always behind the other brands when they used to be the industry leader.
And samsung finally has Apple level polish. The S22 U and S23 U are beautiful phones, and the UI is SO fluid, stable and intuitive. You can also customize the gesture/UI which is great; and it doesn't glitch out on you.
I don't have much money, being able to take a great smartphone like Pixel 7 Pro for 600 pieces is a great thing. So for me Pixel 7 Pro is the definitive choice.
I wish someone would test how long the peak brightness last. I know the iPhone 14 pro will last no more than 2 minutes at peak brightness in direct sunlight, before over heating and dimming very dark. With the Samsung being able to handle a higher sustained nits in HDR content, one can assume the iPhone probably still has a thermal issue with their screens.
Samsung is going to blow everyone out of the water over the next 5 years - their overall business is so market-leading. The hardware and software leaps in this S23 Ultra are insane given it's at launch standard (no updates).
@@santiagofigueredo1885 I kinda agree with him. Having used several phones including many Galaxys, I prefer OnePlus’ OxygenOS. It’s just a much cleaner UI and isn’t filled with bloatware and gimmicks. iOS is just as simple and efficient as a mobile operating systems can be.

And ZOT just glossed over 8k even though so many other RUclipsrs including MKBHD are saying how great it is and it's actually usable because of the great stabilization. I also can't believe he gave 2nd place for video to the pixel but whatever.
@@torezgermy2 If you look at the video comparison, the Pixel was noticeably better than the S23 Ultra. It had better HDR, more vibrant colors and better contrast.
You lost me at "S-pen is a gimmick" Just because you don't have a reason to use it, doesn't mean other people don't. Many people draw with the S-Pen as well as use it jot down quick notes while on the job, as well as all of the bluetooth features, such as taking photos by using the button on the S-Pen.
Watching this on my 14 Pro, but after using it for around 8 months I must acknowledge that an S23 Ultra would have been a more well-rounded choice. Don't get me wrong, the iPhone is awesome but on a broader scale with its limitations it feels more like a feature phone compared to the ever versatile S23 Ultra.
There are pre-booking events in each country, and I'm happy to buy Galaxy s23u 512GB for $850 at a large electronics store with cashbags. Ordinary people need more photos than videos, but especially at night, if pictures are shaken or difficult to see, it's very sad to lose all our memories of the day after returning home.
Battery and the ecosystem are important to me. I have AirPod Pros, an Apple Watch and an Apple card. My 14 Pro Max has been nothing but good for me. As an iPhone fan, I will say Samsung is really REALLY stepping it up.

I am a fan of the Pixel. I like that its software is so easy to use. I love that it automatically screens the spam calls for me. Stays on hold for me, etc. Googles software is hands down the best in my experience. Battery lasts all day. The Samsung's I had in the past were just full of bloatware, they broke easily was not impressed. I will never buy an iPhone.
I love my pixel 7 pro but the 2 things that kinda bother me is the sound isn't loud enough even tho it has 2 holes in the bottom but one is for show apparently. I even sometimes think my previous phone (Galaxy S10) sounded a bit louder. And the 5000mah battery doesn't last as long as the competition. Still a very VERY good phone and enjoyable experience especially with that amazing price.
I just switched to iPhone 14 pro max from the s22 ultra. I love them both in different ways. I definitely had issues with both my wife’s and mine. Could have been bad luck but after some expensive insurance claims decided to switch. Neither of us are easy on phones. Love the Face ID feature a lot though. My hands are constantly dirty and the finger id didn’t work often.
Glad to see that Samsung has caught up with iPhone's battery life. Unless you are trapped in the Apple ecosystem the Galaxy S23 Ultra is the one to go for
Team Samsung, camera is absolutely great. I find my self using the s-pen a lot to extract text from pictures or areas I can't copy, also as a remote to take pictures. Super helpful for family pictures or a nice tourist shot on a tripod
Hard to go wrong with any of these. I have the s23U and I love it, but I've never been a fan of iphones. My wife has the iphone 14 and I hate if I have to use it for anything.
Wow, this video is incredibly informative! 😍 It's so interesting to see how these three flagship phones compare and I'm grateful for the detailed analysis. 👏
Im making the jump in September from the iPhone ecosystem over to the Samsung, after using iPhone since 2014 im really excited to see what all differences the samsung has to offer
imo, the star of the samsung ecosystem is the phone with a close second being the appliances. The tablets aren't as good, and the laptops have worse battery life (but are otherwise as good), but the headphones are comparable. Google home features are comparable/maybe better than apple home, and the samsung appliance ecosystem is top tier. Laundry, tv's, kitchen, robot vacuums, etc. I'm going to get Samsung appliances at my house when they're on sale and I have some spare cash. It'd be great to get a notification when the laundry is done, or tell it to warm up the freshly dried stuff so when I come down it isn't already wrinkled.
SPen is not a gimmick. It is most useful for annotating (arrows, circles) the print screens before sharing. And if you use Snapseed, then there is no other phone that ticks the checkbox. But I buy Samsung for it's corporate software suite.
The Now Playing feature is so underrated on the Pixel. I always hear songs in public I like, and instead of having to shazam the song its already there on my lock screen
interesting vid - the only thing id ask u to consider is when giving specific points to each cat, you are assuming each cat is of equal importance / weighting, which of course is never the case and is nearly always subject. what i would suggest in future comparison vids, you look in to the Kepner tregoe method; i find it much more accurate. thx for sharing your thoughts :)
Had an iPhone12Pro and switched to the Pixel 6 Pro and its to this Date the best smartphone experience I ever had. Price is just amazing and my hardcore iPhone Friends where amazed by the Camera. (You really have to try your best to shoot bad photos!)
4:23 pixel has extra dim as well and iPhone is ALWAYS sluggish due to its OS. It’s crazy fast in running applications but clunky switching between things and multitasking
I don't understand when people talk about the designs of these smartphones they ignore the notch on top of the iPhone screen 🤯 its literally stuck in the past
I have both s22 and iPhone. I like the iPhones simplicity for when im busy and need something quick. But i like samsungs flexibility when im bored and looking for something to do like watch RUclips or mindlessly scrolling through Facebook
1. Pixel has extra dim, I use it. 2. Pixel also has the lot of mini extra settings. 3. Amateur photographers are not important enough to rank Samsung over google(imo, since regular people are much more valuable than the small amount of photographers)
The pixel also has an extra dim mode for it's display. Also I thought mkbhd switched it up with what phone he filmed autofocus with, not exclusively the iphone
@TobyFromGT to be honest, we don't need to have 2000 brightness all the time 20 mins is plenty enough to serve the purpose. Who would like to continuously watch something under direct sunlight?
@TobyFromGT S23 has a superior display in terms of efficiency. I'm not sure if you have seen the graphs that are floating around in the internet now. If you are calling samsung display is superior without witnessing those graphs means you are showing abit favourism. BTW we are only talking about the brightness and iPhone still wins in that area and we must accept the truth.
I have both the s23ultra and 14pm I got rid of the pixel 7 pro. Since I need to lines I figured I'd keep the best of both worlds in my opinion. For my business I use my iphone 14pm and for personal ill choose the s23ultra all day everyday. I love to customize and have a bit more freedom on my personal phone and samsung does the best job in that category for me. Sold my s22ultra and returned the pixel 7pro not because it was bad but I like the samsung better. Surprisingly though my s23ultra feels much smoother than my s22ultra and battery lasts significantly longer and gaming my device stays cooler.
They put some really high end thermal management in the S23U, it thermal throttles a lot less than other phones. I think the only phones with better thermal management are dedicated gaming phones.
The keyboard thing was a gimmick for the unique quality lmao. That said, i think the s-pen for taking pics is cool. But the coolest thing to me is the DeX feature. Turing a phone into a computer with an external monitor and a keyboard and mouse.. come on now.. thats cool. In terms of ecosystem... come on now. Apple cant even communicate with a PC llol
Just got my pixel 7 pro today. Brand new for 399. I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I like it. I've never read so many mixed reviews about a phone... Especially regarding battery life. This phone is really good. I have the s23 ultra but that phone exceeds my needs. It's too much of a phone.
Not everyone is better at typing. I write much faster than I type, so the S pen is my go to when I need to jot down points without even having to unlock the phone...
Yes, and those phones only have like 3 months to be ultimate before the following phones come out. The current iPhone will be around most of the year… hence the comparison.
since im value oriented, dont care about theoretical benchmark numbers but real everyday usage, like to take good photos and dont want to get locked into an expensive ecosystem: Pixel 7 Pro for me. Gave apple a fair chance, but it was a struggle to even get my NAS connected because there was no "apple approval" on it, and dont get me started on PC -> iOS -> PC - a nightmare. And no... i can't use a macbook because i rely heavily on CUDA powered applications - which no M(put number here) Pro/Ultra ARM SoC can give me.
Do not agree with the best display to iphone with that huge notch and just a 250 nitsbmore max brightness which won't sustain like s23 ultra. If brightness is the only parameter then samsung better put very huge notch or band up there and increase the max brightness to 2500 nits and reviewers will appreciate that. Anyhow, if apple actually decided to give their only selling point (now more than ever I think) a refresh they could really strike back. And I’m sure that more than one android user would switch over if the ram was also increased.
I’m really hoping this years iphone 15/15 pros have a big upgrade because I need a new phone..
The battery and video especially are getting improved with software updates on the s23ultra with software updates
Likewise with the iPhone
@@jamesapple724 The s23 ultra had a stable release and is only getting updates as we speak. The iphone 14 had a downright hellscape of a release with their cameras vibrating into oblivion and so so many bugs and glitches, especially with the dynamic island. The iphone only got more usable with updates, not better.
After seeing the "peak brightness" and him say the pixel caps at 600 i stopped paying attention, there is barely any intention to be neutral here lol
Just hope it lasts for quite awhile as I spent over a grand on this
They seem pretty durable. My S22U looks and runs like it's brand new. I had good luck with samsung phones durability.

I kinda think he looked over some of the use cases for the S Pen. I use it for way more than quick notes. Number one being a shutter button which is great when you want to take pictures of you and your family from a short distance. It makes editing easier, great for games that I tend to fat-finger, great for smart select and so on...
Or the dex, to choose a keyboard over that 😅

Watching on my s23 ultra right now. Believe it or not I upgraded from a Razer Phone 2, which I absolutely loved. I thought it would be difficult to find a phone which was as perfect for me as that Razer Phone was, but this Samsung does that and more. The only thing I miss is the rgb logo on the back lol
I miss my razr. China got the Razr 3 😢

Alot of the improvements, but the best one I would like to point out is the battery!!! Amazing job 👏 last the whole day
I don't understand why you said that the S23 ultra video quality not good vs the iPhone and the pixel.
I have the S23 ultra and the video quality is amazing
how less of a quality it is when compared to i14p in a scale of 10 ?

There are pre-booking events in each country, and I'm happy to buy Galaxy s23u 512GB for $850 at a large electronics store with cashbags.
It'd be great to get a notification when the laundry is done, or tell it to warm up the freshly dried stuff so when I come down it isn't already wrinkled.
