@@insidetechltd Ha you mentioned it's the brightest outdoors so I think that covered it. Great to see Samsung have pretty much caught up on smoothness and battery tho.
IPhone 14 Pro Max is a great phone, but the S23 Ultra has a bigger range of capabilities in video with genuine stabilized 8K and 10x optical. Many independent tests give the low light video crown to the S23 Ultra which surprises me but I feel the IPhone's noise control is incredible and second to none, but it darkens the image to aid this. In bright conditions the IPhone wins in overall quality, but just. And the S23 Ultra is yet to receive it's first big camera software update, which is worth noting.
@wsi1871 Yes the iPhone screens are brighter but due to a poor cooling solution they'll only let you max out the screen brightness for a few mins before getting dimmer than the Samsung. So even in terms of brightness I'll take the Samsung.
The fact that a phone half the price of the Samsung/iPhone is even in the same category makes it an easy choice unless you have 1400$ burning a hole in your pocket. And the fact that the phones are out of date in 2-3 years make it an easy choice for someone not in the apple ecosystem at least.
I had the 6 pro and 7 pro and endless bugs and hardware issues on 7 Pro, so much so, Google sent me a new phone last week which I’m selling unopened. I’ve bought the 14 Pro and the camera is way better overall, the phone is flawless in operation, worth the extra money! 👌🇬🇧
The Tensor story was supposed to be better control over updates than Qualcomm chips, but the Samsung with a Snapdragon outdoes it on updates, outdoes it on speed, AND is more efficient while trouncing it. Tensor has been super underwhelming, and their hand waving about ML doesn't pan out either since you can do that on SD or A16 even better.
@@wlonsdale1 Yet it's not even ahead in most aspects of AI. Sorry, it's just a tired rebranded Exynos with a few Google accelerated bits, and just not being as fast is one thing but it also burns more power while being slower is the big issue.

The only issue is on the S23U is the camera and video, video isnt as good as the iPhone and photos arent as good as the Pixel 7 Pro. Also the shutter lag on the Samsung is unacceptable on a $1200 phone
@@ssaini5028 partially true, from other hand this is one of the few android flagships which has video quality close to the iphone. Let's be honest, iphone is and will be king in that department.
@@DamianNocun he S23U video quality is good, but not close to the iPhone not at all. Panning, noise, low light, autofocus, color science and dynamic range is just better on the iPhone video. Video is just better quality overall
@@ssaini5028 low light video in this review is questionable, most other reviews doesn't have this iso problem he definitely has a problem with the settings of his phone.
Great video. I think you do a fantastic job at being thorough. My only critsism would be when testing the camera. Unless the pictures are taken at the exact same time at the exact same distance and with exactly the same amount of shake or no shake. It's never gonna be 100% accurate. But then I know that's impossible ha ha 😁
Thank you. I must say that I work extremely hard to capture as close as possible images with smartphones. I take each shot in the exact same position and within seconds of each other. Some reviewers will attach the phones to a rig side by side and speed up the capture time this way - but you don't have the lens in the exact same position so this skews the photos (I do it manually each time to get it exact, and also to allow a natural movement whilst taking the photo so that stabilisation can be accounted for and not removed). This gives you the best interpretation of how the lenses differ between phones (as opposed the person taking the image being in a different position each time). As you said, it's physically impossible to do the exact same position and time - but i'd like to think I get damn close, and I work hard to do this
Battery life on my Google pixel phones has been very disappointing. I don't think the megapixel count has anything to do with the shallow depth of field of the Samsung. That depends on aperture. So it might be interesting to know what aperture is the default on each phone for each lens. I shoot almost all the time in night sight on my pixel. It is important to note that so much is adjustable in the camera app. One can add blur after the fact not just to recent pics but to pics from the distant past. One can also easily add brightness with the dynamic or enhance suggestions or manually with the adjust controls. I have recently started to shoot in raw and JPEG. Processing the raw later on my computer. Makes a huge difference when one eliminates all of Google's algorithm additions. In the normal camera setting, the pixel takes a quick series of shots. You can simply accept the suggested one or choose one or more of the many others. So if a person blinks in the suggested shot, you may be able to find and clear-eyed shot taken before or after that one. Outside of the camera, I find Google translate to be one of the better features. I'm not sure how the other two phones do on the various aspects I have mentioned to above.
It's not the megapixel count, no. It's both the aperture and the sensor size (the apertures are shown in this video at the start of the camera section)
@@insidetechltd If you’re doing it from launch wouldn’t the S23 Ultra be 3 then? I’m pretty sure it was 3 for pixel, 4, for Samsung and guaranteed 5 for iPhone. Idk, maybe I’m wrong
The pixel is listed as a specific year to be supported until (2025 and 2027) whereas other companies like Samsung list specific numbers of years of support. So I changed the pixel’s numbers to match the other phones so we could have a consistent no. of years of support
Having Android phones in reach, why would any thinking creature pick overrated, overhyped and overpriced iphone? It has NOTHING to offer what Android doesn't have, yet Android has a lot more to offer what apple doesn't have.
P7P has overall a better performing camera. The photos that come out of pixel are simply stand above anything in the mainstream market. Normal 4k videos are on par with iphones. For sound, gaming and display brightness, pixel obviously falls behind.
Appearance wise I prefer the iPhone and Samsung's more utilitarian designs. The pixel always reminds me of a Disney cartoon character. The pixel 8 renders look no better . The pixel experience is good, mainly let down by poor battery life and overheating issues. Pixel manual display brightness could do with being higher .
Smelling pixel fanboy here 😅 I'm loving my s23u, fun fact my pixel friend, iphone friend also so jealous of my s23u that never happened before this phone
I own a Pixel 7 (non Pro). Chose the 7 over the 7 Pro mainly due to the size. After watching your S23 video, I thought "maybe I should go back to Samsung due to all the improvements." Still had those thoughts watching this video. Have had no issues with the 7 and then I looked at my purchase receipt for the 7. With trade-in, I paid ~$160.00 USD for the 7. After your personal choice of the 7 Pro, I believe I am going to remain happy with my 7. Thank you Adam!
@@mcsigler Yeah this is the thing I was thinking. Look in my pov i use some social media and some RUclips. And some light games such as clash royal and clash of clans. And i just need maybe 5-6hr sot. So i was looking for a phone and i saw best buy was selling for 650-750. So in this 700-800 range i fing 4 choice op11,s23,pixel7pro and iphone 13/14. Personally for some limitations i don't prefer or like ios. Op11 is shit imo. Now the choice is s23 and pixel7pro. I know s23 is faster, superior bla bla. But i think tensor g2 has enough power to do all the task to do. So i wanted see still people's opinions s23 vs pixel7pro. But I'm disappointed because everyone is comparing s23u or i14pro/max.like why I'm not going to spend 1100-1200 for a phone.
I see you have the base model. I wanted to know if you think that I can buy a pixel7pro for my need. I charge overnight then i go to university and do some light tasks like listening to music, doing some notes, watching RUclips, and some facebook Instagram Whatsapp things. Occasionally when i travel i love to take photos. Not much into video. And here and there i play some games like clash royale, clash of clans for 10-20min max. Now the question you think is pixel7pro is not going to be enough for me ? Looking for your recommendation ☺️
@FayFlix. I have a friend that owns the 7 Pro & loves it. Yes, better display, better camera, and bigger battery than the 7. If there's one caveat, it's battery life. Just about every review of the 7 Pro I've seen says the battery life is "average" & I agree. With the way you use your phone, I'm kind of hesitant to say that you'd make it all day on one charge. I'm sure everything else would perform well and you'd be happy with the Pro 7. I really wish battery life was better! I've heard the S23+ has great battery life. The one thing that annoys me about Samsung is their duplicate apps that you can't get rid of. Waste of space on the phone with what I consider bloatware.
Here is your standard what wallpaper you are using question here. Good comparison, thanks a lot. Have S23 Ultra and Pixel 6 Pro, for portraits and night photos Pixel much better, everything is better on S23 Ultra for me.
No, the software updates, the cheaper fingerprint sensor, the cheaper aluminium build (samsung is a little more expensive because its reinforced), cheaper glass on the screen and back, cheaper camera hardware, cheaper chipset...etc The pixel is NOT a better value.
I had the iPhone 14 Pro Max and now I have the S23 Ultra and the Pixel 7 Pro. I really like the S23 Ultra, but the Pixel 7 Pro is a much better shape to hold and expecially indoor the Pixel-camera is in a league of its own. I have been switching back and forth but I guess I will continue with the Pixel 7 Pro and sell the S23 Ultra. I simply trust the camera of the Pixel way more.
So, im more interested in decent loud speakers and big screen rather than anything else as all I do is watch RUclips videos .. what’s the best option Samsung?
My pre-order got cancelled and I didn't ever go back and re-order, i thought that people didn't have much interest. I'll still review it if enough people want it though!
I still wish apple can use the dynamic Island for all notifications.. They find a smart way to use that for more cleaner pop up notification... From sms to everything in between
Video is such a big deal to me , and the fact that android phones still cant catch up to iphone quality is quite mind boggling . never had an issue with stuttering even on my iphone 7 plus!
Love your videos but honestly you clearly are wrong about bezel size! Pixel has the thickness bezels out of the bunch! The curve display kind of hides how thick they are. Second the s23 ultra has a massive bottoms bezel that isn’t symmetrical at all! The only phone with thin symmetrical bezels is the iPhone. The human eye prefers symmetry. I agree about the front camera cutout being better in android but let’s be honest about bezel sizes here. Other than that Fantastic video as usual and keep up the great work.
Listen closely to his words regarding iPhone. Never really a negative. That's not good for iPhone users as it puts no pressure on Apple to address and deliver in its future devices...shame.
I think that the s23 Ultra is the best all-rounded phone where iPhone does X better and Pixel does Y better, however, the overall rounded device this year is S23 Ultra and its not just about the camera, its battery, performance (gaming) no throttling, faster charging than Apple, its a no brainer! There was hardly any discussion about the S-Pen / Samsung DeX and Multi-Tasking optimizations where the Samung with its Eco System is superior to Google and Apple, for me that's a win :)
I agree - it's the best all round phone. Sorry the DeX/S Pen bits were so short, i've covered it so many times before and didn't want this long video to run even longer!
iPhone 14 pro max is king as always. Optimization video photos/ iMessage full quality video and photo sending with no needing links. All apps social media optimized. There will always be 1 king and that’s IPhone.
This is the second video I see from you and I have to say; I always walk away having learned something from your videos. Just to compare I bought the s23 512gb version for £1099 (traded a Samsung S4 believe it or not they valued it at 150 + another £150 off with a discount voucher); if I compare this spec for spec with the pixel that is retailing at around £949 before you apply a much less generous trade in, and knowing Samsung will give me more coverage with updates and much better spec that doesn't rely on actively listening to me the entire day (privacy concern here) then I think the Samsung gives better value. I probably have a bias against Google as I bought the first generation pixel XL which never aged well, and Google have a track record of abandoning their products and so I don't trust it.
The Pixel 7 Pro completely destroys those other guys. It has Face ID which works well, you didn't mention that, and the fingerprint ID's light makes it cooler. Stop down playing the Pixel Pro for those other chumps.
It doesn't have Face ID. It has face unlock, which is a different, non-secure method. I focussed on the secure biometric methods for each phone and covered them
What a great video 🎉. I think it's a three way tie. I had the pixel 4 and using it was incredible with the Ai.. I had the s20 and the hardware was incredible. Now I have 14 Pro Max and the ecosystem is a trap. I'm stuck after buying apple watch ultra, airport pro 2 and a Mac 🐑
Still have one pixel 4 plus left. The features still work better than the 7 Pro, especially face unlock having the notch with integrated with sensors that actually work. Still not happy with Google killing off a perfectly good working phone after 3 years no longer supporting with security patches. Samsungs have all the bells and whistles but then you're being spied on by both Google and Samsung. Been waiting for Apple to finally ditch the lightning port and offer up their version of Google call screening / Google assistant for years now.... With all the profits Apple makes I can't believe they overlook and let Google dominate with more advanced tech and features. The iPhones are definitely the most reliable and hold their value the best and normally get the best apps first.
You are very wrong, Pixel phones have more updates than Samsung and they are the ones that come before because they are Google Phone. Please update the information
@@insidetechltd I stopped watching the video when you mention the time of updates. Have you ever seen a Samsung update the Android version 5 times? hopefully 1 or 2. The Pixels, on the other hand, are the ones that do it the most because they are Google Phones
Very wrong. Check out the latest thermal test on RUclips with s23U and pixel 7 pro and iPhone 14 pro max. Not only higher framerates but way better long endurance gaming for performance
There's barely any bloat anymore, and you can easily Uninstall it. The only duplicate apps are gallery and Google photos. And gallery is by far better than Google photos.

The main things the iPhone does better than the S23 ultra are auto brightness, video and haptics (seems a bit smoother too)
Auto brightness is a great point actually - I should probably include that (if my videos weren't already super long!)
That's too bad. The only issue I have with the 7 pro is battery life vs iphone
@@wlonsdale1 you’ve been very lucky! 👌🏻
Again brilliant review between 3 flagship phones.😊
Thank you so much!
No matter how good Samsung is, i just dont like its one UI..for me pixel is true winner, value for money, with very different look..
A completely legitimate reason!
As allways Pixel 7 Pro is the best!!!
I Love my Pixel 7 Pro Photos
They are pretty amazing 👌🏼
The Tensor story was supposed to be better control over updates than Qualcomm chips, but the Samsung with a Snapdragon outdoes it on updates, outdoes it on speed, AND is more efficient while trouncing it. Tensor has been super underwhelming, and their hand waving about ML doesn't pan out either since you can do that on SD or A16 even better.
Hard not to completely agree with this 👏🏼
The tensor wasn't designed for benchmarks. It's strength is more AI. Day to day there is literally no difference.
@@wlonsdale1 Yet it's not even ahead in most aspects of AI. Sorry, it's just a tired rebranded Exynos with a few Google accelerated bits, and just not being as fast is one thing but it also burns more power while being slower is the big issue.
Samsung offers one more large android update, that's it. But the pixel is still ahead. Updates come faster and more reliably
Yess the software comparison would be awesome
👍🏼
This year, Samsung takes the crown. S23 Ultra is nearly perfect phone, I enjoy it more than my company 14 Pro. BTW, really I enjoy the most your videos! You deserve more subs cause you are doing hell good job !
Yeah it does, fair play to Samsung 👏🏼 And thanks a lot!
As you said, it's physically impossible to do the exact same position and time - but i'd like to think I get damn close, and I work hard to do this
Got a 14 pro max a week ago, came from an S22 and I am enjoying it. I am done with Samsung after awful experience I’ve had with S22
Samsung took it's eye of the ball with the S22 series for sure.
Another episode of clear review ❤.
Loving your content from India bro ❤
Thank you 👊🏼
Hi, I love your comparison videos! They're amazing. where do you get these phones to compare them?
Selfie camera video and video calling is absolutely horrible on the pixel 7 pro, AVOID
Thank you! I bought them each from their online stores
the pixel gets android updates for 3 years, not 2. Also iPhones get 5 years of software updates, sometimes 6. Good video
3 year from launch. It launched last year 😉
@@insidetechltd If you’re doing it from launch wouldn’t the S23 Ultra be 3 then? I’m pretty sure it was 3 for pixel, 4, for Samsung and guaranteed 5 for iPhone. Idk, maybe I’m wrong
The pixel is listed as a specific year to be supported until (2025 and 2027) whereas other companies like Samsung list specific numbers of years of support. So I changed the pixel’s numbers to match the other phones so we could have a consistent no. of years of support
@@insidetechltd Oh ok thx
Having Android phones in reach, why would any thinking creature pick overrated, overhyped and overpriced iphone? It has NOTHING to offer what Android doesn't have, yet Android has a lot more to offer what apple doesn't have.
P7P has overall a better performing camera. The photos that come out of pixel are simply stand above anything in the mainstream market. Normal 4k videos are on par with iphones.
For sound, gaming and display brightness, pixel obviously falls behind.
Fantastic comparation. Love the videos
Thanks a lot 🙌🏼
Do you happen to have a link for that wallpaper?
Very nice video comparison
Thank you!
Turn on adaptive sound for the pixel. It makes a huge difference. As far as bencjmas go, they're becoming increasingly meaningless.
Smelling pixel fanboy here 😅
I'm loving my s23u, fun fact my pixel friend, iphone friend also so jealous of my s23u that never happened before this phone
Yup! Big fan of the Pixel 7 Pro 👍🏼
What's the point of comparing a $600 phone to a $1200 phone. Please explain 😐
@@liljaeger2k What's the point of spending $1,200 when a $600 phone does practically the same thing?
I'm sharing it on twitter, come say hi!
Pixel7Pro will get at least 3 years of Major Android update.
Pixel is by far the best value
Hmmm not sure. Not with the software upgrades being so sparse compare to Samsung and Apple. I own a Pixel 7 pro.
No, the software updates, the cheaper fingerprint sensor, the cheaper aluminium build (samsung is a little more expensive because its reinforced), cheaper glass on the screen and back, cheaper camera hardware, cheaper chipset...etc
The pixel is NOT a better value.
@@Jay-cl9qp It seems you don't understand what "value" means. The Pixel is 50% of the price of the S23U and the iPhone, but not 50% of the quality.
@@Blade70 what do you mean "sparse"? So the extra OS update is worth paying double for?
@sebalto it's more than 50% the price, but even at that, it still uses cheaper parts anyway.
I do too
👍 And what about the battery life? Lasts one day?
So, im more interested in decent loud speakers and big screen rather than anything else as all I do is watch RUclips videos .. what’s the best option Samsung?
Yeah probably Samsung for that 👍🏼
I can’t wait for you to test Sony Xperia 1 V. Plz! 🙏
My pre-order got cancelled and I didn't ever go back and re-order, i thought that people didn't have much interest. I'll still review it if enough people want it though!
does the pixel 7 pro have the march gcam 8.8 update? Seen another RUclipsr show the difference in the camera and photos
Latest updates 👍🏼

the pixel offers 3 years of support and 5 of security, not 2 and 4
I'm sure you can work out what's happened here 👍🏼
It did offer 3 years so you're quite correct. However the pixel 7 is coming up to one year old , with 2 years of system updates available
Great Video but you did not mention the Ultras Face ID while talking about biometrics
No. It's not a secure biometric method. I only highlighted the secure methods for all three
Video is such a big deal to me , and the fact that android phones still cant catch up to iphone quality is quite mind boggling . never had an issue with stuttering even on my iphone 7 plus!
iPhone video is just 🔥
Love your videos but honestly you clearly are wrong about bezel size!
No. He's 100% correct as I look at my pixel 7 pro
It's not about the eye...it's about the brain.
By the great videos always loved your content.. By the way what's the name of the song playing on the speaker test

That’s an NCS release called “Runaway”. If you search RUclips for that you’ll get it 👍🏼

Overall s23 ultra is best
Wow, iphones night video is ridiculously good
iPhone video in general is great tbh
What would you choose between iphone 12 vs Pixel 7
Pixel 7
I don't like the sound quality in the S23 selfie mode, hopefully Samsung will fix that with an update.
The noise cancellation can be quite aggressive - works well sometimes, but I preferred the other two
How is your channel this small? And please don't change your review style as you get more followers.
I'm very grateful to have this many subscribers already - anything else is a very flattering bonus!
Listen closely to his words regarding iPhone. Never really a negative. That's not good for iPhone users as it puts no pressure on Apple to address and deliver in its future devices...shame.
Is saying the iPhone has the 'least aesthetically pleasing' display not a negative? Selective hearing perhaps...
The pixel 7 pro has a bad overheating problem too, I moved to iPhone 14 pro max and it’s far better
That's fair 🤷♂️
What do you think about Google Pixel 8 PRO?
I'll give you my full thoughts in a comparison video with the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the S24 Ultra!

iPhone 14 pro max is king as always. Optimization video photos/ iMessage full quality video and photo sending with no needing links. All apps social media optimized. There will always be 1 king and that’s IPhone.
Pixel apps are also optimised now . I even think Samsung's are ( in the android arena ) coming from an iPhone and pixel user
The pixel is just so boring that I'll never consider paying USD 700+ for it.

You clearly haven't fully used em all, LOL.

Pixel 7 $450, Samsung S23 $750.
In the UK the standard Samsung S23 is the same price as the pixel 7Pro
Thanks a lot!
I focussed on the secure biometric methods for each phone and covered them
in the end it does not really matter. just need some phone to watch netflix and youtube...right?
Not at $1000+ 😧
If they bring out the Pixel 7a, thats the one I will look at, speks and price, if not will go for the S23
Just hoping the display isn’t trash on Pixel 7a, but otherwise it could be very promising!
I love my pixel 7 it's a fantastic phone very clean
Glad you like it!
I just got the pixel pro, and it heats up way too fast
S23 ultra vs iPhone 14 pro
What a great video 🎉. I think it's a three way tie. I had the pixel 4 and using it was incredible with the Ai.. I had the s20 and the hardware was incredible. Now I have 14 Pro Max and the ecosystem is a trap. I'm stuck after buying apple watch ultra, airport pro 2 and a Mac 🐑
Thanks a lot!
Don't get the Pixel 7 Pro, the Battery 🔋 is HORRIBLE !!!! save ur money and get the S23 Ultra.
It's definitely noticeably worse...
