I would absolutely love to see a video for players "new" to the game and what they should be looking for in upgrading or buying clubs. As an example, I started last June and picked up an Adam's starter all-in-one set, bag and all. They've served their purpose, but I feel like I'm at a point where I want to move forward with my clubs. I've since purchased a Callaway Fusion driver and 3w & 5w, and they are light-years better than the clubs that came in that set with noticeable improvements especially with the fairway woods. I'm now looking at getting fitted for irons and having information on what irons should I even be considering before going to the pro shop would be outstanding.
Tielc that’s the point of fitting though. You don’t want to go in with a preconception. Just go into the fitting session and let the fitter do his/her job. They’ll find the best set for you, don’t make the mistake of being “brand loyal” be loyal to what you perform best with
Mizuno JPX 900 forged, I love the forged soft feel from centred strikes but also find them easier to understand the feed back from off centred strikes I didn’t get this with my previous game improvement irons
Mil Sneler i think you’ve misunderstood. I said I find the feed back easier to understand from off centred strikes as in I can tell from the sound and feel exactly where the strike was. My game previous irons obviously gave feed back but every miss hit felt and sounded similar
Rick, because of your review and this video, I went out and bought a set of Mizuno-MP SC's. I absolutely LOVE them. I cannot articulate how great it feels to pure these clubs. Thank you Rick!
I too have the 900 Tours , Brooks won back to back , Fisher broke the St Andrews course record , among other players that have acquired much success , Best irons in years yet Rick failed to spot it .He's been slipping lately ive noticed
I loved your Taylormade p790 review video and picked them up after testing them. I’ve been playing them for a couple weeks and feel so much more confident hitting greens with these irons. Great video Rick!
Great video Rick. I currently have Wilson irons that are great for me so I was so pleased to see you rate the Wilson FG irons so high. Love your work mate. Keep it up!
Just got custom fitted for the new callaway x irons. 6’6” here so needed some extra length. Great video. First time upgrading since 2011 and glad they made your top 5
Love my P-790s. Forgiving, great feel, but still great looks and workability. I had the P-770s for a bit, but I switched to these for a hair more forgiveness since they still did everything I wanted.
I just got fitted for a set of i200 irons. I went with those because I wanted that middle ground between game improvement and blades. And the feel of the i200’s was the best for me in that category.
Johnny Penso I have. I got them about 1.5 months ago. The irons I had before were not fitted, stock spec, Taylor made burner 2.0. After I got the i200’s, I went from a 20 to a 16 handicap. (Putter problems have gotten me back to 18.) but the irons are phenomenal!!!
great choice i love mine and was gonna revolt if they didn't make the list. great distance control, accuracy, forgiveness, feel. only thing lacking is workability and the wide soles are a little more difficult to play (imo) in extremely dry conditions
Reminds me of my i20 irons I games till I switched to AP3. You will certainly have pleasure with those. Fairly consistent with no promise what it cannot deliver.
Cobra forged tech - American Golf sent me the wrong irons (was supposed to be the tour forged) but thought I’d give them a go. Ended up falling in love with them! Great feel and great distances.
Rick, based upon your review of your Top Ten Irons for 2018 and personal trialing I settled on the Taylormade P790 irons. They are absolutely the best irons I have ever owned. Great feel, sound and distance. Keep up the good work both you and Taylormade !
Currently using Srixon z355, gives a lot of confidence behind the ball. Good distance and the right amount of forgiveness. Not the best feeling iron but so far the most consistent iron I’ve been fitted for.
Bad feel, dude. Horrible actually. The club feels like you slammed it, with all your might, on a boulder. The crushing feeling of having your fingers and palm in intense pain is what you get from the P770's. That's why nobody plays them.
Brad S. I always chuckle at someone telling someone else they’re wrong about golf clubs. If it’s working for him and he likes it, there is no rebuttal or debate. It’s completely subjective.
I was just being hyperbolic. Hits on the sweet spot, felt a bit too muted ... didn't have that solid feel. The feedback was weak coming from a forged iron.
I agree. You have to go with what looks best, feels good, and works on the course. Looks, feel, and performance are the truest barometers on what to decide for or against in a golf club.
Best clubs on the market, and it doesn't take a Pro to tell you that, something is going with @ricksheilds Taylor Made bais? it looks that way, I love Mizuno but those Cobras are something else!!
I play P790 taylormade stiff steel shaft. I play them because they feel great have good distance and are forgiving. Looks are also great. I love the performance even with a off center hit
I had a set of the Taylormade P790 to start the season and I loved the long irons, but couldn't stand the mid and short irons in the set due mostly to the gaping. Ended up trading them in for the X-Forged and I couldn't he happier with the results.
yep Willo , just wrote a message myself above . the JPX 900 tours have performed incredibly well this year and last , not a mention . ive been disappointed with Rick and Pete as of late , they are not what I subscribed to years back .
Mizuno blades are a classic no doubt... but blades are blades, why short yourself on what technology has to offer... A Mizuno blade is like a classic Smith & Wesson revolver, beautifully made classic, that is a pleasure to use and will do the job... but its still a revolver... and its time has passed
JL Law Don't buy in to the marketing. "Game improvement irons" should technically be called "Distance improvement irons" which is what they actually do with a higher launch and lower spin. If you want the ball to stop quickly on the green blades are best due to spin and consistent length, they also aren't prone to the odd freaky "knucklball" that can fly the green.
Hey Rick, I use the Ping i10 irons. I have always loved the feel of Ping irons and I've had these for a few years. I'm currently a 4-handicap, but I feel like watching your channel has helped me focus my game and could take me to the next level. Thanks for all your videos!
Mulligan Marz p790🙃 Jk. You could go for them though. You should look for Some good cavity back irons. Taylormade m3/m4 for example. Those are really forgiving en go really far
Shooting 100's you might want something forgiving, but still something playable. Titleist AP3, TaylorMade P990, Ping G400, Mizuno JPX 900 Hot Metal. Something in that range, would be my recommendation.
Totally agree on #1. I’d been looking for kinda GI forgiveness and distance iron with great look and feel somewhat like that of blade. Finally there came the P790, and I totally love it
Taylormade M2 - best irons I’ve ever hit for a high handicap golfer. I hit all the big name clubs - Titleist, Callaway, Cobra, etc. Picked the Taylormade because of the fit and feel. Had them custom fit and I’ve never regretted it .
I’ll add that I’m a 23 handicap and hit the p790 extremely well. They’re just out of my price range $1500 here in Canada. I usually stay up to date on new clubs through testing but always buy 2-3 year old clubs because of price. Currently playing JPX EZ Forged.
How can you say AP3 makes AP2 redundant? They are nowhere near as soft as AP2 and have massively cranked lofts - you can certainly argue they make AP1 redundant, but in no way do they make AP2 redundant. I'm surprised with your no.1 choice as well - I'm hearing a lot of people saying they're long, but also a lot of complaints about inconsistent spin numbers. If they're truly your number 1 iron, why don't you have a full set in your bag?
I also hit the p790 as a test and they were long, But not the feel I was looking for, clumky! I found the Mp18 mmc as far as feel goes, the best, with srixon Z585 as good if not better than the MP but the xxio Irons, Wow! they felt super soft but at $300 au each , MP or the z585 at half the price. I'm leaning towards the srixon only because the xxio are the same maker and they feel Buttery soft ,as they say.
Hey Nicholas, it sounds to me like Grizzly is offering to help you with your plight! My crazy Grandma use to say: "A closed mouth, never gets fed." and it looks like she was right!
Thanks for posting your top 10. Very helpful as a starting point for choosing new irons. You mentioned weaker lofts for one of the irons so could you post the specs as tested to help compare further? Thanks!
Just recently got fitted and had an opportunity to try most of these on this list. ended up getting the Callaway Rogue Pros though, absolutely phenomenal feel overall. surpised they didn't make it, but i can understand your love for the x forged!
I still think the Callaway Rogue Pro irons should be on there. Maybe bump the Cleveland iron. Great list, though. Your Wilson V6 fanboi is showing through. lol #1KCLUB
Got fitted and was between the ap3 the p790 and a set of miuras, i ended up with the miuras due to the shot dispersion but the others were not far behind
Using the old Nike Vapours. They are stunning to look at and was a happy upgrade from my ancient dunlop golf clubs. Great forgiveness. Love your show and all the content. Pray I can get as good as you in golf.
I have Ping G400s which I love but this is a difficult year to choose equipment with so many good clubs to choose from. Been one of the better years for golf equipment that I can remember for awhile.
I’m currently rocking those Wilson V6 irons just like you and you are why I got them. They are so soft I might never get another club that isn’t forged
I use callaway diablo irons because they are super forgiving, look good, and we’re really cheap. But now I’m a better golfer than I was and am looking to upgrade. Thanks for the list Rick!
The Wilson V6's are nothing short of legendary! Not sure i'm ever going to part with mine....the feel, sound and forgiveness.....OMG, makes you want to play every day.
#1k club... just bought the x forged your #5. Old clubs were Nike covert 2.0. Went independent for a fitting... best clubs I hit even though I live the look of mp18 range. Added 400 rpm spin on average, kept the same descent angle as well
Great vid Rick!! Just got back in to playing so using a hand me down set of Macgregor irons. This vid is very helpful as I am looking for a good set of irons
Thanks for all the videos, used them to help research to replace my whole bag after getting them stolen on Father’s Day. Wanted the Rogue, ap3, but got used ap2 and xr16 woods due to budget. Thank again 🤘
Ping G25, i tried a bunch of irons when i went to Golf Galaxy looking for a new set to replace my Callaway Warbird Irons. I can't remember all the ones i had tried, and nothing was really to my liking. Then a good friend of mine suggested i try the Ping G25 a iron set i never even thought of trying out. After testing them for a little i liked them alot and went with those.
I use the taylormade M1, nice feel, and a smaller head that works for many different handicaps. I also love the look of it, i feel confident when i hit it!
Can't get away from TM, Rick. When I first got into golf many moons ago, TM was just the sweet spot for look and price and feel when I was testing everything. Haven't changed since.
I use Callaway xr driver and taylormade m2 irons 3 wood and hybrid. As i find them all so consistent. I also use an odyssey putter as it rolls so well and i feel confident with more weight in the head. Callaway md4 wedges as they spin alot
Tested several of the irons on your list when I was looking for new irons last week. I choose the King Cobra forged TEC in the black finish. Have played 2 rounds since I put the Cobras in the bag. Love them. Have you tested these and if so what did you think?
You got the number 1 spot 100% correct (was worried they weren't going to appear at all). Got my P790s in Feb and just wow, forgiving, great feel, great flight, workable, love them. Considering Taylormade are more renowned for woods than irons these are just amazing.
Happy to see the P790s at the top as they are what I am leaning towards to buying very soon. Your videos are great for hearing the pros and cons for all the equipment I am looking into

Q: What golf irons do you use & why?
*If you are NEW to my channel SMASH that subscribe button to stay connected!*
Rick Shiels Golf I use the m3 as they gave me a more consistent ball flight
Rick Shiels Golf ping g30 forgiving
Rick Shiels Golf King Cobra forged!!! I play hcp 15
Rick Shiels Taylormade PSi irons because I love the look and feel. And I don’t have enough money to drop on a set that came out this year
I use the ping thrive clubs because I am only a kid
This guy's equipment reviews are in a class of their own.
You should include the prices of the clubs next video
prices dont matter to Rick-f%&*in Shiels, peasant...
(i agree id like to see prices :))
prices change and depend on the store that sells them. It's not suitable to say the prices...
I may be wrong, but I'm not, because if memory serves me correctly, and it does, RS always includes the prices in his single release reviews.
@@vika0194 you can allways give rrp price
Victor it’s always suitable to say the price when comparing products
Mizuno MP-18/MP-18 SC. Because they look/feel amazing and perform perfectly for me.
I would absolutely love to see a video for players "new" to the game and what they should be looking for in upgrading or buying clubs. As an example, I started last June and picked up an Adam's starter all-in-one set, bag and all. Rick, we need a top 10 clubs of 2019 & 2020. These are really useful. Thanks for taking the time!
I Love that you stay true to the V6! How will W/S EVER create a better iron than that??
Mizuno JPX 900 forged, I love the forged soft feel from centred strikes but also find them easier to understand the feed back from off centred strikes I didn’t get this with my previous game improvement irons
Yep , Rick dropped the ball on this one
I have never hit an iron that did not give feedback on off center strike. Let me know if you know of such irons, I am curious to know?
Mil Sneler i think you’ve misunderstood. I said I find the feed back easier to understand from off centred strikes as in I can tell from the sound and feel exactly where the strike was. My game previous irons obviously gave feed back but every miss hit felt and sounded similar
Rick the quality of your videos is through the roof. That includes the information you provide about everything its just amazing to watch your vids.
Rick, because of your review and this video, I went out and bought a set of Mizuno-MP SC's. I absolutely LOVE them. I cannot articulate how great it feels to pure these clubs. Thank you Rick!
Kent Cross no way these clubs should’ve been 7 on the list. #1 in my opinion
eptxgreg same here
Currently playing Hogan Ftworth irons. Have always used Hogans and had to give the new ones a try. Great feel/feedback.
Thought the MP18 Sc would have been higher up the list after seeing your review but all the clubs in the top 10 look great
Agreed
Best irons on the market nowadays. No question.
Sc are great. MMC are shite
I would have thought that the MP18 would have earned a top 5 and not just a passing nod. Hmmm......
I love how Rick did not say a single thing bad about the SCs yet still rated them #7 🤷🏼♂️
Currently play Titleist 716 AP2. LOVE them! They are so stable in the distance control. That is the most important thing for me!
I am currently using the Mizuno JPX 900 irons and they are performing great!🏌
Which one? I use the Tour version and love the soft and precise feeling besides them looking sexy as hell
I too have the 900 Tours , Brooks won back to back , Fisher broke the St Andrews course record , among other players that have acquired much success , Best irons in years yet Rick failed to spot it .He's been slipping lately ive noticed
I am using the jpx 900 forged and the feel in them is just so good!
I use the Ping G irons. Great forgiveness coupled with the unique Ping look. I love them, and they’ve served me well.
FalconMode Gaming & More! Ive used the same set of G5’s for years now. I have no complaints
FalconMode Gaming & More! I was having a look at those and read not much difference from the g400's, have you tested the difference?
Love my P-790s. Forgiving, great feel, but still great looks and workability. I had the P-770s for a bit, but I switched to these for a hair more forgiveness since they still did everything I wanted.
I just got fitted for a set of i200 irons. I went with those because I wanted that middle ground between game improvement and blades. And the feel of the i200’s was the best for me in that category.
Have you gamed them yet? How did you do (honestly)?
Johnny Penso I have. I got them about 1.5 months ago. The irons I had before were not fitted, stock spec, Taylor made burner 2.0. After I got the i200’s, I went from a 20 to a 16 handicap. (Putter problems have gotten me back to 18.) but the irons are phenomenal!!!
Haslam Golf love mine
great choice i love mine and was gonna revolt if they didn't make the list. great distance control, accuracy, forgiveness, feel. only thing lacking is workability and the wide soles are a little more difficult to play (imo) in extremely dry conditions
Rick, are you planning on doing a iron top 10 review for 2019???
I use the mizuno jpx 850s forged. Had them 2 years... don’t see myself changing anytime soon! Love them
Rick, based upon your review of your Top Ten Irons for 2018 and personal trialing I settled on the Taylormade P790 irons. They are absolutely the best irons I have ever owned. Great feel, sound and distance. Keep up the good work both you and Taylormade !
Srixon Z 765's definitely deserve a spot
golfoholic87 I agree I spilt my set with those and the blades love them !
golfoholic87 couldn't agree more
Z745’s were better
I agree, they should be on the list or at least the z565. Anyone can hit them.
What about Ari on z565 or 765?
Currently using Srixon z355, gives a lot of confidence behind the ball. Good distance and the right amount of forgiveness. Not the best feeling iron but so far the most consistent iron I’ve been fitted for.
Taylormade P770's are a large oversight by not being included. The entire P range are superb.
Brad S. Maybe the intense pain ur feeling is just from bad contact.
Got fitted with a set of P790s back in march and am playing the best golf of my life with them. Truly a great set of irons
Rick, did you consider/test COBRA’s Forged TEC Black irons? - IMO, superior to the P790's
Couldn't agree more, easily the best clubs of 2018.
RollYourRock bagged these at the start of June after years of using Callaway MB's. awesome clubs. Great shout not seen many tests online
Forged TEC Black our outstanding. They go so far and high. I recently tried going back to my z745's but they just feel like junk compared to the FTB
Best clubs on the market, and it doesn't take a Pro to tell you that, something is going with @ricksheilds Taylor Made bais? it looks that way, I love Mizuno but those Cobras are something else!!
YES!!!!!! I was fitted into $ Taper blacks and the dispersion is lights out with them, I LOVE MINE! I sold my 790’s for them and never looked back.
I went with your choice the V6. Couldnt be happier. Very solid feel.
I play P790 taylormade stiff steel shaft.
I play them because they feel great have good distance and are forgiving. Looks are also great.
I love the performance even with a off center hit
what handicap do you play from?
i play from 19, looking to buy these, not sure on the shaft i need
I had a set of the Taylormade P790 to start the season and I loved the long irons, but couldn't stand the mid and short irons in the set due mostly to the gaping. Ended up trading them in for the X-Forged and I couldn't he happier with the results.
Darn!!! You rated the i200 first place in 2017. Second place for 2018!! I guess I have to wait ANOTHER year for a deal on a used set!!
I got the P790’s this spring and they are phenomenal. No thick top line and the feeling is amazing
Really surprised a Mizuno blade never got a mention?
yep Willo , just wrote a message myself above . the JPX 900 tours have performed incredibly well this year and last , not a mention . ive been disappointed with Rick and Pete as of late , they are not what I subscribed to years back .
Mizuno blades are a classic no doubt... but blades are blades, why short yourself on what technology has to offer... A Mizuno blade is like a classic Smith & Wesson revolver, beautifully made classic, that is a pleasure to use and will do the job... but its still a revolver... and its time has passed
JL Law .... lol
I guess because this is for the avarage Joe (above -4hcp) so probably suited for 95% of players.
Thanks for all your videos!
love the video! what's your recommendation for golfers that shoot around 100 each round?
Mulligan Marz lessons...
Marc Tebo very true, but I have hand me down old clubs, looking to upgrade.
Mulligan Marz p790🙃
Jk.
Something in that range, would be my recommendation.
really appreciate the feedback advice it truly means a lot!
Totally agree on #1. I’d been looking for kinda GI forgiveness and distance iron with great look and feel somewhat like that of blade. Finally there came the P790, and I totally love it
Mizuno jpx forged. Forgiveness and love the feel of it coming of the club.
Killahpuppah those came out in 2016, not new for 2018. A new jpx line should be coming out in the fall though.
Couldn’t agree more, my p790’s have been an absolute pleasure to hit. They feel and look amazing. I couldn’t recommend them enough
Those Ping irons are FUGLY
so true
Ping irons have ALWAYS been fugly. I've never seen a Ping iron that isn't downright hideous. All a matter of taste though, plenty of people love them.
Yeah I was sure why rick was talking about the i200 looking good. They pretty ufly
Fugly or Fuglie, a conundrum. Either way right on.
They look like door handles.
Taylormade M2 - best irons I’ve ever hit for a high handicap golfer. I hit all the big name clubs - Titleist, Callaway, Cobra, etc. Picked the Taylormade because of the fit and feel. Had them custom fit and I’ve never regretted it .
718 AP2 ??
Next Generation not as good as the cb or ap3
I’ll add that I’m a 23 handicap and hit the p790 extremely well. They’re just out of my price range $1500 here in Canada. I usually stay up to date on new clubs through testing but always buy 2-3 year old clubs because of price. Currently playing JPX EZ Forged.
Currently using callaway xhot pro irons as I like the mix between having a cavity but with a thinner top, plus I think callaway make the best clubs.
Playing x2hot pro irons for the last two years, love them and felt they were underappreciated when they came out... kudos to you and your club choice
I love ricks videos. He gets to the point quickly
Love your videos Rick! Wish you were stateside so you could be my pro!
Love my p790 irons.. really gave me exactly what I needed.. feel just as good as my Ap2 but with a kick!!!
I play the Wilson Staff FG Tour F5 irons... good looks IMO, classic Wilson forged feel, nice accuracy and adequate distance even with weak lofts!!
Glad to see you listen to Rick's reviews too. Awesome stuff! Spider Dubiel
Great selection! I use the Cleveland 588MT. Forgiving, forged face, not jacked up (31° 7 iron). For me all you want from a GI iron.
Rhys Owen yea dude i tested the p790’s and the spin was wack. they also arent even soft and are rather hard.
Beastman926 Inc. I tried them out they felt clunky to me.
Hit the Wilson's yesterday. I haven't hit a Wilson in 40 years. They felt as good as a Mizuno. I was stunned.
Callaway rogue irons because they give me a lot of opportunity to hit different shots
Just got the MP-18 SC’s last week because of your review. Fantastic clubs! Haven’t had a 3 iron for 10 years.
Guess who cant afford any of these 🙃
Nicolas Wazewski these are all pretty standard irons sets from the major manufacturers
Hey Nicholas, it sounds to me like Grizzly is offering to help you with your plight! My crazy Grandma use to say: "A closed mouth, never gets fed." and it looks like she was right!
I'm old. Love blades. Those Taylor Mares are gorgeous. Thanks Rick.
"Sexy as Hell", totally agree!
Thanks for posting your top 10. Very helpful as a starting point for choosing new irons. You mentioned weaker lofts for one of the irons so could you post the specs as tested to help compare further? Thanks!
Those Ping I200 irons look crap, they wouldnt get a mention if they weren't Ping.
They don’t look crap, nor are they something beautiful. I use them because I like the performance.
they do look like shit
Just recently got fitted and had an opportunity to try most of these on this list. ended up getting the Callaway Rogue Pros though, absolutely phenomenal feel overall. surpised they didn't make it, but i can understand your love for the x forged!
I still think the Callaway Rogue Pro irons should be on there. Maybe bump the Cleveland iron.
Great list, though. Your Wilson V6 fanboi is showing through. lol

Loki the Cat agree
Agreed
Sure, if you want to hit low spin knuckle balls into greens.
We've had different experiences then. To each their own. If you're hitting low spin knuckle balls, I'm not sure I'd blame the iron. Cheers.
Currently play 718 AP2s. Max forgiveness with great looks and feel!
Anyone else just skip to the end :)
Ordered week a go P790 irons after the fitting. Love of my life after my wife and my kids. Hope to get these on my birthday in next week
I use a old set of Ping Zing irons have lost around 20 yards in distance after battling leukemia so considering a new set of irons with more distance.
I was considering picking up the ap3, they felt fantastic n definitely perform beautifully
Mizuno MP-53s are still the best iron I've hit and I don't seen myself switching any time soon. Cheers Rick.
I have the Nike vapor fly irons.
What is your best tip to be consistent just under 80. I am a 9 hcp.
I’m a high handicapper but started using Mizuno mp52 semi blades. Should be a crazy move but hitting them much better than last set of cavity backs.
old nike victory red fc’s. saving up to switch to the callaway apex MB set 3-pw. bought the 2 iron individually and it feels incredible to hit
I'm considering upgrading this year, thanks for the list. Going to checkout your reviews for some of these.
Nice presentations on both the irons and drivers..thank you. Jim
Titleist 714 CB, Classic look, feels like butter!
Ethan Spotts I’ve had these for a couple years now and I’m never going to another set again. They are so crisp and sound amazing
I’m currently using the Cobra King Forged variable length irons because they feel and perform amazing. And Happy Birthday Rick🎉
Mizuno Jpx 825, they are old but they are very consistent and I’ve tried other irons but so far I’m sticking with the Mizunos
Very enjoyable Rick, many thanks !
#1k club... just bought the x forged your #5.
Great video. When will you do the best irons and drivers of 2019? Maybe you can do a buyers guide that comes before the big sales in the UK/US/CAN?
I have to agree with you Rick. This season have have got the new Taylormade P790 irons in my bag. They are AWESOME.
100% agree! I’ve been gaming the the TM P790 since April and it is phenomenal. So easy to hit. Looks great. Feels outstanding.
TM P790 - I got fitted and bought a set in the beginning of the year and I agree with you. They are phenomenal!
Great video as always! I'm currently using the Cobra F7 irons, I started golf this year and saw these at a price I couldn't pass on.
I use Callaway xr driver and taylormade m2 irons 3 wood and hybrid. As i find them all so consistent. I also use an odyssey putter as it rolls so well and i feel confident with more weight in the head. Callaway md4 wedges as they spin alot
My go to guy on RUclips. Your reviews are always informative!! Ty
Tested several of the irons on your list when I was looking for new irons last week. I choose the King Cobra forged TEC in the black finish. Have played 2 rounds since I put the Cobras in the bag. Love them. Have you tested these and if so what did you think?
I just bought a set of the Calloway CF 16 forged. I love them. Did you compare them to any of the other similar irons?
You got the number 1 spot 100% correct (was worried they weren't going to appear at all). Got my P790s in Feb and just wow, forgiving, great feel, great flight, workable, love them. Considering Taylormade are more renowned for woods than irons these are just amazing.
I use the Callaway forged irons and I like the weight. Very solid strike at impact. With the weight, I am less likely to over hit.
Happy to see the P790s at the top as they are what I am leaning towards to buying very soon. Your videos are great for hearing the pros and cons for all the equipment I am looking into
