Good video, you should’ve mentioned that the lower strut bolt is tightened when vehicle is on the ground to avoid loading up and possibly tearing the lower bush when putting the car down.

I installed fox 2.0 front suspension on my 2018 hilux. I think I dislocated the inner CV joint once or twice, but was able to put it back without too much hassle. After I finished the job and jumped into the car for a test drive, I noticed that when I put the car on D (drive) the car sometimes wont start crawling right away like it did before the lift. What could be the problem?
Another question is that the left rear shackle does have the front light level sensor attached to it. Is it possible to just drill holes to new lifted shackles and attach it to the new shackle. Or what other options do i have regarding to the sensor.
Well done, very interesting. Does a basic lift like this put the c.v joints under any undue stress? Especially when dropping a wheel into a hole. Would wheel camber also be an issue with a basic lift kit? Like your shows guys - keep em coming

Can anyone help me please.. I have followed this vid and up to lining up the pins into the holes on the bottom leaf spring.. Only one side is in the hole, I can not get the other side in, any suggestions?. Thanks

I have a few questions on what lift to get for my suv Mercedes ml320 2000 bc it’s a different approach it’s runs and climbs in ready to lift it and get new tracking tires
Needing to get my lift changed. I don't have much more vehicle weight over stock but tow my racecar a lot. The biggest problem with upgraded springs etc takes away the daily driver ability somewhat

Took me 20 minutes on the back and 35 minutes on the back on my landcruiser 80 series. Easy as, believe me it not as difficult as it looks, you just need to lift your vehicle safely. Unhook sway bars so your diffs can drop enough to remove and insert springs

What was the mm difference between the stock and the one's you fitted?
Why do you have to take the CV nut loose ? Ive seen it done without doing that but they might have be en screwing up. Im sure there is a good reason.....

Sorry I missed how much lift did you do for this video, and basically you replaced the front shocks with a longer one and change the lift spring to a higher one , is that it ? when you say 2 inch or 4 inch lift?
Is it possible to fit hilux shocks and coils on the Dmax or are they different? Cause I live in Tanzania and it’s pretty hard to get Isuzu Dmax suspension kits

have a question. . . 4WD SUVs & light pickup trucks equipped with a 2.0 in. or 3.0 in. suspension lift actually has different level of lift between the forward & aft suspension setup . . . if the front axle has a true 3.0 in. lift the rear axle has something like a 2.6 in. or 2.5 in. lift . . . so my question is why is the lift less at the rear? might as well have a true 3.0 in. of full spec suspension lift both at the front & rear . . . if not why??? please advise . . .

Depends on the vehicle and how much you are lifting. If you own a modern dual cab ute you might want to check out their video comparing all models. They give some info on which ones are easier to lift and which ones require aftermarket UCAs

I guess different brands have different grease application. Thought bushes should only be greased on 1 side ?
I was thinking the exact same thing. I would have to pre treat every bolt with a penetrating oil for a day before attempting this. Also its just so clean!
That and do 1 side at a time!!!

i battled with my 2005 hilux yesterday starting the rear, getting the leaf spring off was a mission and a half, plenty of lube sprayed on and soaking, then wrestling the bastard off

You guys should have covered off how to re-assemble the upper ball joint, many people will have trouble with this
Changed mine myself what a mission, didn’t go that easy.
4” lift 2007 Nissan navara d40. (Offset shakers with grease nipples on both side, what way should the offset go in or out? Should the shocks be longer on a lift kit then normal ones)
*You should of shown ppl how to safely do front struts as they are loaded and can kill someone if the undo them without spring clamps (disclaimer at least)

Air tools make it faster - but you can do all this with a battery powered rattle gun or ratchet and breaker bar.

Do lift kits spoil the suspension of any car? How many types of liftkits are there?
Great video, but for those thinking of doing a suspension swap out at home without having done one before, especially on a car with a bit of age, or difficult to get to rear shock nuts, allow a couple of days and another means of getting to work for a day or two in case you encounter problems. Doing it for the first time will be slow going.
Good advice. Things like this get crammed into a 10min video but the reality is always hours of skinned knuckles and foul language when having a go for the first time.

Ive been told by many a mechanic not to use those polymer bushes, was told to always use rubber as it has better give.

Maybe I missed it, but what point do you tighten the bottom bolt on the IFS strut? After it's back on the wheels? Important for me to know since my 4wd as 4WIS.

Do your lower shock bolts up when the car is on the ground at ride hight.
Did you guys switch out the upper arm for adjustable ones or did you stick with the stock one? I'm interested in how the camber is adjusted for the 2 inch lift
You only need to change them out for a 3 inch or bigger.
If you add two inches to the height of the front suspension does it have less range of travel down wards than stock?
Would the brake and abs lines be long enough at full drop mike
Some kits come with brake line kits ect for lifts. But with a 2 inch lift its very unlikely that you will encounter splits as the travel will be the same as the arms havent been extended. The strut has just pushed it down putting the body up. The travel will be the same
Help I need some info/tips: Is it necessary to upgrade my leafsprings when i upgrade my shocks or can i just upgrade my shocks without upgrading my stock leafsprings?
You can upgrade shocks without changing springs no problem..

That's prehistoric technology. That was the belief 20 years ago, but not now.
How safe is to shift underside springs to upperside of diff? M from india and have mahindra bolero and springs are install underside of diff...
Its perfectly fine axel already has the same load on it anyway you just need some way to secure the leaf springs in place.a locating plate is what i have used in the past its a 10mm thick square washer with a hole in it.

I'm unsure as to why he's undone the CV Nut? It's not necessary, there's enough room and play to be able to remove the strut assembly without the need for air tools to do the job.

So I’ve watched this video and one done by Jock, both to do with fitting suspension, this video you say grease the new bushes but in the video Jock did he says don’t grease the bushes, so what is it guys!!!!!

Just had a fulcrum lift kit installed in a 2021 Hilux and now I have a shutter from take off. The fulcrum dealer that sold me the kit wasn't very helpful. Who can I contact for some advice? Thanks in advance
If you haven't already sorted it out. Do a search on google for "tail shaft spacer lift kit" Driveline vibration is common on some 4wds after lifting

I have leaf rears and torsion bars at the front, is it as simple as jacking the front and winding them up then getting a wheel alignment or is there more. Cheers
It can be that simple but your drive can be very rough when hitting bumps because depending on how much u wind them up
Lift is nothing without wheel articulation. And you won’t have any doing this
Torsion IFS are tricky because remember it really is a car suspension that purposefully limits the wheel travel. Crank up the bars too much and you will have a very stiff ride, bumps stops nearly touching and risking your cv's dislocating.
I put an ARB 50mm on my Rodeo years ago, flipped the front upper ball joints, changed to flatter bump stops and put Landcruiser cv boots on. It started at about 75mm then i settled on about 60 mm after a few trips to the alignment center and took a compromise on/off road.
Don't expect too much from the IFS, it's not designed for big lifts, you can get it up for some pics, but it will drive like absolute shit!

You don't need to do half that to get the strut tower in and out its really like 4 bolts and that's it.
Im 16 getting a Pajero nm 2003 gonna put a Dobinson’s lift it’s cheap $599 gonna cut out around were the Tyers go so I can fit hard core 33inch muddies I found some good mud Tyers pretty aggressive $990 for five dam cheap I’ve seen other Tyers that are like $2000 for five I’m set to go can’t wait. I’m not towing a trailer just 4wdriving good fun gonna also get a front Lokka mabye a rear later on if I need it that’s only if I do way harder tracks for what I do a front will be good we went on a trip to the zig zag powerline tracks nsw one guy had a front locker did everything no slip at all but all the others including us didn’t have a locker they got stuck were the other guy didn’t. It just proves that what a difference a locker makes that why I’m gonna get one. This is to u graham home u see this.

No it doesn’t! You can have that done when you go back there with a blown CV joint.
Are the springs the only thing that lifts a car in a lift kit? I really dont understand how the back side gets lifted because it has no springs. Unlike SUVs that has both front and back springs
Big black things = springs (leaf), front small yellow ones (coil)
@@Ga7cun7sSUCK i know. So in trucks they just add spacers on the back to lift it? Cause I know fronts usually get an inch or 2 higher because of the springs not spacer
@@cuvame the shackles that attach the leaf are longer meaning they lower the attachment point of the leaf springs so it raises the vehicle. Recommended to get longer leaf springs too, but that's the basic concept
