EFFECTIVE Leg Day Collective - Compound Leg Workout | EPIC Heat - Day 17

  • The hamstrings, glutes, quads and calves will be challenged during nearly all of these exercises within this leg day session!
    Compound movements are so effective as they recruit various muscle groups and make very good use of time to help build strength!
    Take this entire workout at your own pace. The more control throughout will ensure you gaining the most out of each rep and make you work harder!
    For this lower body workout, you will need a pair of dumbbells, a mat and a glute band. A chair is optional (for hip thrusts and Bulgarian lunges) as you can absolutely perform glute bridges on the mat and static lunges instead of Bulgarian lunges!
    The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 12.5kg each and 1x 25kg dumbbell for hip thrust and sumo squats.
    The timer will be on for a majority 45 seconds of work, 15 seconds rest, however once we reach the hip thrusts, the 15 seconds will become holds etc!
    It will all be on screen so simply follow along!

    u know when ur working so hard u don't look at the status bar for so long and think ur almost through but then the halfway sign turns up and u loose all motivation? turns out taking a quick break, water and a few encouraging words to urself will turn everything around. i gave my all and im proud and happy and stronger in mind and in body. thank you, caroline, for helping me making this journey about all the right things♡♡

      Hi Delphine...here it’s 5 am...but usually I’m awake to have a look, make a quick comment....then I doze for a bit before doing the workout, or some outdoor sprints first at about 6.15 am. A great start to the day! Matthew

      I've followed since last July...quite by chance really...my friend didn't want to go running because rain was expected...I suggested we both did the same workout and I would send her the link...I found a full body no weight by Caroline...she's never cried of from running in the rain again...killed her off lol...I of cause loved the 1hr

    Even though this was not the thoughest workout physically, it definitely was a mental challenge for me! Since I am having a low-motivation-tuesday, just as last week, I really questioned whether I should roll out my mat or not. But I remembered the comment Caroline wrote me last week and was able to push through the workout with that motivation in the back of my mind!
    Remember to stay EPIC my fellow athletes! ☺️

    The thing I've noticed is that I can now go heavier in my weights, because I'm that much more stronger! I get less tired and can go longer. Thanks Caroline!

    Can't believe I just completed the entire workout. A little longer break than Caroline but did the entire workout to the end with 25lbs and 50lbs weights

      Hey me too, same weights! Did you find yourself huffing and puffing? I wasn't expecting it to be so cardiovascularly challenging but I think it was because the work to break ratio was 45:15. Keep on persevering!!!

    I started following Caroline before Covid...that was more than a year ago. I did one of her workouts and was totally hooked. Immediately subscribed to her channel...Didn't notice how many followers she had then, think it was under 300k.     Yessss, I LOVE leg day!! Hope you all had an amazing workout. My biggest struggle, apart from chronic injuries, is that my lower body is so much stronger than my upper body, so I have trouble holding the weights I need to give my legs a good workout. My arms give out long before my legs do. 😖 Anyone else? Would love to hear your tips!! Thank you, Caroline - these workouts just keep getting better and better. 🙌💖💖💖

      I noticed that today too Hakeke. My hands and wrists got really tired holding the weights today but my legs could keep going. I always just try to switch up the holds when that happens. Holding up high like high squats..then just let the weights hang down at the sides.

      It is likely the weight is still too much for your arms.. better go back to lighter weights and focus on upper body first... just my thought..

      hear hear sister! same issues here
      try using fairly hard stress balls whenever you can - they definitely improve the grip and its strength. alternatively use weights on a bar, not dumbbells, which I also find hard to keep the grip on for longer, especially if they are heavier. Or used a lot, as I have tennis elbow in my right arm and golf elbow in my left arm. Neither obtained during doing either of the sports they are named after :D I also prefer using kettlebell wherever I can - find it much easier to hold on to
      Don't give up :)

    The whole 10weeks of EPIC I and half way to EPIC II I used to use half of Caroline’s weight and now just finished this workout with 10kg where she used 12.5kg. Did the Sumo squats & hip thrusts with 25kg. I am ecstatic! This is a clear indication of my progress! Thank you Caroline and this amazing community 🙏🏾

    Today is leg day🙌!! We love leg days and Caroline never fails to make it EPIC , sweaty but a great session! I used to hate doing lower body workouts cause I just didn't have the strength and never pushed myself, but Caroline made me fall in love with lower body workouts💪!     So anyone whose intimated by legs workouts (like me) should dive straight into it without giving it too much thought or reviewing it.       Totally agree Sana! I always think if a workout is making you nervous, you shouldn't preview it, just push play. You have no time to fret about a move or what's coming. You only have 15 sec between to even think..and at that point all your thinking about is breathing😆! I don't preview anything anymore. I don't want to become intimidated. That and I love the surprise as I go along with the workout. Nice job on today's workout! So great you are able to get it down with fasting as well. Dedication!

    All because of you I finished this workout crying - Because I was so proud of myself for how far I’ve come. I never thought I would ever get into lifting weights and always dreaded working out. Now I love seeing how much heavier I can lift, how much more of your videos I can complete and how many less moves I have to moderate to complete.     Calves are the shoulders of the lower body as far as I'm concerned - I hate training them. That being said, I enjoyed how challenging this workout was and the pacing was fantastic!

    I have been watching since the beginning. I start my mornings looking forward to these videos. I have done Epic I, Epic Ii and now Epic Heat. Caroline is an effective trainer pushing us until muscle failure. She is such a lovely person too. I love it when Winston, her dog, makes an appearance.
