    This is why Dave is my BJJ roll model... he's so chill and fluid. The tings I'd be willing to do to get a chance to roll with him.

    • @binaryglitch64

      I'd beg, steal, and barrow ... I'd off a man, but I wouldn't set foot in Texas to save my mom and kids while collecting a million dollars and getting a chance to roll with Dave. My broke ass will just have to sac mom and the kids, and see Dave in Cali some day. Okay so I exaggerated a bit but it illustrates how much I dislike Texas.

      @@KamaJiuJitsu Oh, I will one day when it's more feasible, it's on my bucket list. You guys won't guess it's me when I show up, because online and in the streets I'm a motor mouth, in class and at work, some people think I'm a mute... no seriously a coworker told me another coworker had asked her if I could speak. Granted he's only been there a week but I thought it was funny... if only he seen me in my off time, he'd ask if I ever shut up lol. Speaking of work, gotta go to the other job, later.

    Re: the title, is it the intention to imply he is considered the GOAT Rickson blackbelt ?
    Edit: Dave seems like a great instructor, but I've always been under the impression all of Rickson's bb's brought similar skill sets to the table. Never heard of one standing out above the rest. Akins seems to get the most recognition as a teacher since he ran Rickson's school and the volume of content he puts out, but I've heard he, Dave, and the others are all pretty even in ability. Megaton might be an exception cos of his heavy participation in the sport scene, his judo and his close connection to Royler.

      Hard to know since none really competed but Dave was there from the 80s and with rickson from the early 90s.Marc eccard was thougth to be ricksons top student but left just before black.Megaton isnt a rickson black belt.The only rickson black belt active competitively is kron.

      Mark lost to Fernando A Machado brown belt much younger than Mark. Threw him into the chairs it was out of a movie. Rickson terry eyed the whole shebang. Goddamn shame real tragedy how many lives have been lost

    • @KamaJiuJitsu
      @KamaJiuJitsu  4 года назад +5

      you're referring to Fernando Vasconselos. i recall the match being won by Fernando by points. as far as being thrown into the chairs, you're making out to be something more exciting that it was. matches go out of bounds all the time. back then, we sat right around mat side and not always in bleachers far away from the action like at the Bren Center. nothing dominating. good match, though. i also seem to remember Fernando actually being a Barra Gracie brown belt who came up the RCJ Machado as a brown belt, although i could be wrong. the other well known Barra Gracie brown belt of the time was Marcio Feitosa. Barra Gracie of that day created some pretty awesome competitors of the day.

    • @dragonballjiujitsu

      One arm is behind his head so no worry about that one punching, the other is blocking the bicep of the left arm.

    • @tjl4688
      @tjl4688 4 года назад +1

      It's basically impossible to punch or elbow from that position, and the headbutt won't have any real power.
