After watching these vids for a while I realised Renor and Ryron, Roger's TV channel and Ricksons instructionals give the best info, always concise and enlighening.
At sixty years of age and interested in the sport for exercise, this series is the most detailed when it comes to the basics. Clear, concise and safe! Bravo.
Right! Most gyms today a white belts 2nd class and on is reverse de lariva to single x to delariva to kiss of the dragon. Then spar and get smashed for 45 min straight. No wonder why so many schools cant retain students
You have teachers like Danaher, Ribeiro bros, Chris Haueter then you have Renzo and Royler Gracie, Pedro Sauer who are on a higher level. Then comes Jean Jaques Machado an Mauricio Gomes who are above them. Then you have Rickson who they all see as their teacher or example.
He is the master.. his credibility comes from all the fights he’s had and won he’s proved he was and probably still is the baddest dude in the world ..
I love this content. Base, Connection, Leverage, Timing, Breathing, what other concepts am I missing? I try to practice this stuff and use it in my life overall like he says. Love it.
Re reading his book breathe. Good book, would love a bibliography with it to look more into his breathing, meditation and other techniques (there was one that he said helped him where you emulate animal movements). He seems like he’d be very intimidating to work with though, kind of felt sorry for that girl who seemed a little bit confused a few times about what he wanted lol.
Listen to his uke breathing, Rickson as well as others say the power is in the breath! Danaher is a master of math and processes aka western philosophy and Rickson is the mind body connection seeking a higher level of enlightenment aka eastern philosophy.
Most arts have an invisible component. But, few people can appreciate and grasp it. One way to get a bit closer to it is to recognize that it’s not about a technique but about some basic principles. Once you understand the principles, you can apply them to many situations.
Check out David Kama and Henry Akin. Kama is one of the DD and Akin was chief instructor at Rickson's school for quite a few years. They each are carrying on the teaching of 'invisible' techniques, as I'm sure are Grandmaster Rickson's other BBs.
I'd be so freaking nervous.. I'd be so honored and nervous I'd be making so many mistakes.. I'd be telling myself like it's RICKSON GRACIE Mike don't make any mistakes listen... l.o.l
Actually, the instructions were somewhat inefficient; I have seen a world champion black belt not be able to follow the simplest verbal directions when in front of an audience and trying to process instructions under stress. It is far better to demonstrate and model in-the-moment than explain. But excellent stuff.
I really appreciate Rickson share the knowledge! I practiced taiji and southern praying mantis before, honestly I never understood the ground game why ppl want to learn wrestling... but actually watching UFC and mma I started to understand and want to learn myself too. I have a question if I may ask here. So the girl's breathing sounds right in the meaning when she exhale, but Why she has to make actual sound of it? With all in my knowledge it is bad for her health... or is it just for practicing as showing, signing to Rickson how she does it when she exhales? I'm not sure why it is bad, but every master I learned from said it is wrong, we had to breath as silence we could... Im imaging the taoist view like every living creature has an amount of heart beat and breath, of course you have to use more to build your muscles but using it in an excessive way lead to disharmonic state.
This brings up the thing of why the Gracies did not perfect their throwing techniques working off all the knowledge they have in jiu jitsu? As judokas have very good throws as a sport, but it'd seem the Gracies would have lead throws to evolving as well. Of course just get them to the ground it's over, however, as Kitoryu jiu-jitsu it's said to fed the throwing styles of Kodokan judo. Which their jiu jitsu is said to be real jiu jitsu totally disconnected from the Kodokan as I understand it. There's the sport version, but I'd want to know the actual jiu jitsu they learned so well.

Breathing is paramount to Ricksons teachings and techniques. He speaks as much about the importance of breathing as he does the physicality of Jiu Jitsu

Rickson has always been my favorite. He has such a clear and practical way to Jiu-jitsu. Nothing overly complex.
Most people don’t understand how invaluable these videos are by the master himself.
True, lots of retards making comments on this video. They don't have an inkling on how valuable the information in this video really is.
damn some are dickriding hard
My first time realizing that someone can teach you to be like water. Truly a great Master. Great Lesson
His explanations for the moves is so clear . What a great communicator he is.
He English not first language. He good

Inigualável. Esse é o JJ que eu procuro aprender.
The best coach in the world
No one teaches like the grandmaster. 🙏🏽
He is the master.. his credibility comes from all the fights he’s had and won he’s proved he was and probably still is the baddest dude in the world ..
Rickson is as good a teacher as he is/was a fighter Brilliant
Amazing master! AMAZING!!!!
Simply beautiful....the mind set is just, Wow! Only a warrior has this!
A brilliant exposition of basic groundwork skills
I love this content. Base, Connection, Leverage, Timing, Breathing, what other concepts am I missing? I try to practice this stuff and use it in my life overall like he says. Love it.
The distribution of energy is fascinating
Basics will set you free
Thank you Professor Rickson!!! This makes it really clear the way you explained and sufficient!!!
master not professor
Great teacher. Thank you!
Love the way the Master thinks. Would be awesome to be taught by such a man.
You just were.
Um dia chego na sua academia mestre Rickson.
It is all about taking advantage of all the different levers in the body and creating mechanical advantage relative to your opponent. 🤔

bravo Master Rickson
Priceless teaching!!!
Rickson = integrity
Funny breathing. Thanks master though ❤

that's his student you're hearing, ya donut and it's ridiculous in this context.
This is GOLD!
There are so many similarities with other martial arts. If you have imagination you can see it standing up!
É um grande privilégio receber uma aula do grande mestre Rickson...batalhador de grandes lutas e um grande guerreiro. Meus respeitos mestre. Obrigado.
The grand master himself 🙌🏼
Amazing Basic technique's ,of Jiu- Jitsu!!
Man, thanks for sharing the knowledge, it's really inspiring for me!
I really hope this invisible stuff doesn't get lost in time.
@Chris Cassidy I will check it out thanks!

Great sir thank you
What an honor for her!
Shewww
She's a Gracie.
Great classes
Rickson, why cant you be here in my Town. Practical Jiu Jitsu.
I'd be so freaking nervous.. I'd be so honored and nervous I'd be making so many mistakes.. I'd be telling myself like it's RICKSON GRACIE Mike don't make any mistakes listen... l.o.l
4:39 that's how you should have started. By showing all the various ways this and that could happen the tell her to do what you were trying to do.
GRANDMASTER RICKSON PLEASE WEAR YOUR RED BELT YOU EARNED IT AND THE BEST GRACIE BJJ FIGHTER?
This is actually pretty amazing
Aulas🤩🤩👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽.
Thank you master
Muito obrigado!
It took her a bit to get what he was teaching. Wherever his energy is directed,, use it. And take him that direction.
You can tell she's really a student. She's not an actor, and Rickson isn't just doing like a podcast or something. He's really teaching. It's honest.
Im going to start practixing this more often
I see what you did there.
Like you ever practiced it before?🧐
Amazing!
thank you
Honestly this is not only a display of Jiu Jitsu but also a high level display of patience. Lol

I sure wish Rickso put all his teachings on DVD, so us po rural white people could get premium instructions.

Why is he wearing that belt? He was promoted to full Red in 2017 by his brother.

Watch the animals, sometimes it’s noisy
It is based in Pranayama I believe

If retained knowledge is useless, how will anyone have knowledge to use?!
I am so blessed to train under one of his earliest black belts.
thanks for the information

Sounds like she’s about to go into labor
You're not too bright aren't you?
SHOW
10:30 she is still having to guess what she has to do. Like a little kid trying to do a form.
what's her name? she is so beautiful
I appreciate how much respect she shows Master Rickson. She's obviously intelligent.
I think she is his current wife, isn't she?
@@augustolage4368 thats right, a much younger one, lucky rickson.
Intelligence has nothing to do with it!
@@TENNSUMITSUMA absolutely right, intelligence is entirely irrelevant and respect is mutual.

I'm confused, is this a jiu jitsu or a lamaze class? I can't see it but I can hear the breathing technique.
