It's much different doing it the random strangers and tuff guys of different weight and sizes. At times Rickson is even given up positioning. Just to see him escape then finish them.

What? Judo guys knew well of submissions, I trained Judo in the 1980s. All the applications, straight, bent armbars, gi chokes, etc. were there. But mostly due to rules/time limits, Judo grappling was fairly basic at least over here. Rickson was miles ahead of most Judo guys I knew. I would think it is fair to say that Judo groundwork much much more athletic in its application. I would even say there applications of triangle choke entries was more advanced than BJJ.
No, if that were the case, then it means Rickson had about 8 seminars total (8×50=400). He had many fights outside of the seminars. He also had many more seminars than 8.

Same here. Seen this before. Hicardo…let us know when you get his video against Yoji Anjo. He told Joe Hogan he would release it when his new federation website hit a million members.
Yeah.. F**king millennial purple belts..Rickson is all self defense game..these new guys are all about flashy berimbolo non-sense..they don’t know what the F**k they are talking about. You hit them once and they become blue belts, hit them again and back to white belts- Carlson Gracie Sr.
And it looks like Rickson is just toying with the opponents. Think about if he really pushed it. Holy shit.
Its hilarious people say that comment but I was an old school blue belt took ten years off and submitting modern day Browns when I came back.
OSS! Rickson the Best!

Tapping guys who are wearing sweat pants and sneakers, just like the guys he fought in Pride.
Pride was early MMA with no weight classes. Gracie went in there, most of the times being 10-30 lbs smaller than his opponent. He went in there with little striking skills. Yet, he won.
If you ever trained martial arts, you would acknowledge that.
@@minkowski4d "If you ever trained martial arts, you'd know how to use Google." What an ignorant comment. Quiet boomer. No one cares about how you did taekwondo in a strip mall.
I’ve seen Rickson vs Anjo tape. His daughter is one of my best friends and I happen to be watching old pride videos with Kron at his house and the commentary started talking about it so me and my other friend made him show us
Oh wow
Roger Gracie did the same to the best of the best : Buchecha, Romulo Barral, Marcelo Garcia, Rafael Lovato, Braulio Estima, Terere, Andre Galvao and the list goes on. Rickson is legend but it was a different era of jiujitsu.
It's much different doing it the random strangers and tuff guys of different weight and sizes. At times Rickson is even given up positioning.
Just to see him escape then finish them.
And let's not forget the size difference. Rickson 5ft9in 185 pounds. Roger Is physical Beast don't even know his weight but you know it's much bigger than that.
@@hybridkempo6165 Rickson did this to random strangers “tough guys”who had no clue about what to do on the ground my friend. Marcelo Garcia did the same thing to bigger and stronger guys who were knowledgeable and were more capable than any of these guys and Marcelo is smaller that Rickson. It’s not the same doing this to random strangers who had no clue about jiujitsu, than doing it to bjj world champions like Roger did. Rickson is a legend but it was a different time. Do you think Rickson would have done the same to Marco Ruas, Sakuraba, Bas Rutten or Carlos Rosado?
It being in a different era of jiu-jitsu. Doesn't make it any less great. If anything my opinion that makes it even better. It's what got my attention and interest to train the art. Not a bunch of already highly-skilled Jiu-Jitsu guys Rolling in an academy or training and competition. Watching that is great, but that's for the already people who train in the art a see or feel high-level transition and timing for better positioning in Jiujitz.
@@hybridkempo6165 The Roger Gracie observation was in reference to him dominating the best of the best in the same way that Rickson did it to a group of untrained men. Roger and any other high level black belt would do the same that Rickson did here. The difference is that Roger did it to the best of the best unlike Rickson. If Marco Ruas was with this group it would be very different.
That is the same as going 50-0 in one day "

An honourable legend.
Not a Gracie fan however, Rickson's Newaza skills are outstanding!👍
lmao
Lol k guy 😂
Wow, watching the Master is so impressive and inspiring
Thanks for sharinr
Gordon: I'm the goat
Rickson: You have chosen death
love the sentiment, but in all honesty, i strongly believe Gordon could take Rickson, both at their primes, just on the sheer fact that Gordon already evolved from Rickson's style. different eras obviously, just another Lebron vs Jordan discussion.
Sakuraba....
The best.

Rickson é lenda no JJ mas no vale tudo só pegou galinha morta.
Fujickson
Taking a shot every time Rickson taps. Who’s with me?
You didn't take any shots?
he could go far with that arm bar game
Keenan, Craig Jones, Gordon Ryan, MG can do the exact same thing here, IMHO.
You dont see control or pressure like this anymore
All you see is scrambling
double guard pulls to see who can get a leg lock first. The new jiu-jitsu trend is pretty lame.
the game is so much better than it was then - it's evolved exponentially
BJJ has become faster, spazzier and reliant on fast submissions.. probably cause of the influence of no gi culture and schools after the eqrly 2000s
But is it effective?
Jiu-Jitsu has become a sport and lost it's martial aspect for many students. That is why you see the techniques you do. Most schools don't teach self-defense and don't spar with gloves on.
This is awesome you can hear him do his bird call breathing he does
Bird Call breathing? Where?
Second guy he looked like he almost took his arm off lol.
Ha ha yup

Rickson is playing with these Guys.
Right?
@@RiccardoAmmendoliaBJJ Absolutely, he could tap each one in 10 seconds or less if he wanted. I am a GB faixa preta. I know playing cat and mouse when I see it. Have a great day.

Bad ass 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bem que o jornalista Marcelo Alonso falou que o Rickson era muito mais dominante que o próprio Gordon Ryan nos dias atuais.

They had the baggiest gi's back then.
Old school
Rickson didn´t fight against Mark Coleman or Fedor. That would have been interesting or against Sakuraba who beat many Gracie´s including Royce.
He was playing with them. Image meeting this guy for real in a fight
Nice
Thanks
Looks like Steven Seagull seminar lol. I see his opponents wearing black belts but acting like they can't do anything lol
Amazing 🤯

Are the guys in the gi Judo guys? I can see the ground attacks as judo players not being used to dealing with submissions. Also the wrestlers you can see how they post on their attacks. Most grapplers did not know about submissions until BJJ came around. Great video, thank you for sharing.
I had this on vhs.
me too
What styles are these ?!
Who is the brown belt? Is it Rockson? Looks a lot like Rickson and Kron to me.
Its mark eccard, ricksons star pupil at the time, this was around 1993/94.kron wasnt barely even born then.
Maestro Rickson - The GOAT !! Respect from Finland!!
What year did this take place?
Judging by the long hair he had, which you can see he also has in the backgrounds of UFC 2 when walking out with Royce...I'd say around 93/94

ha ha little bit
So is it the case that this is technically 50 of the matches included in the 400-0 record??
lol who knows
No, if that were the case, then it means Rickson had about 8 seminars total (8×50=400). He had many fights outside of the seminars. He also had many more seminars than 8.
Ask him
He is not fighting there, he is teaching.
It’s a made up record

Keep in mind hes going about 10 percent so he doesn't hurt anyone

The BEST under Rolls Gracie!!!
absolutely
Would like to know more about this moment in BJJ history. This is early 90's? Is he introducing BJJ to some group or organization? It does not appear the people he is rolling with have any experience.
That was the whole point in the early 90s. Nobody in the martial art world in the US give a shitt about a bunch of skilled Jiujitsu Blackbelt in their own competing or demonstrating by watching. You had to small kine put us on our ass and smash us to make us believer. Lol!
maybe those 50 are on his 150,000-0 record....
