Not going tolie though,,my heart is in my throat the whole time he's trotting and galloping...just thinking if he gets an ornery nerve in his butt and really decides to take, of, he's going to drag this little girl to New York and there's nothing anyone could do to really stop him.He was good as gold though.... she just does so well with him.! You can tell they love each other. Such a nice feel good video!! ¹¹
LOL, I remember when I used to lunge Rojo, nicknamed "Grampa". He was in his late twenties, heading for thirty. Half Shire, half Percheron. BEEEEG horsie! When I would ask for a trot or canter, he would comply easily, but he would "groan" as he circled. "Uhhhnnnnnnnnghhhh!" as if to say "WHY are you making me work? I'm oooooold!" but he was such a sweet old guy! He was very well mannered. I would exercise him for his owner. *sigh* Those were the days! Rojo, O Ets Electra, Lil Nuisance, Shadow, I loved them all. But I think Rojo was my favorite. That was back in 1968-70.
The lunge "whip" is en extension of the handler's arm, not meant to disipline the horse. It helps direct the Horse, and encourage speed and direction, not an instrument of torture.
He seemed to slow down at the same spot each time when you started the trot. It looked like at the very last when he got to cantering so hard that maybe he was showing off for one of the ladies because he had his tail up looking pretty.
Yayyy Rudnik time 🥰. Love the ground work session. Great job. Stick and string is just an aid your right. It’s not a weapon. Just reiterating what u mentioned earlier. People have a tendency to see it and figure it’s a weapon. Thanks for my Rudnik fix ❤
I was listening to Steve Young the other day and he said what would a horse think if an alpha horse shared food with them, Anyways he would know you are pleased with him if you gave him gentle pats.
I don’t think it makes a difference really. I usually wear them all summer/winter but there’s just as many times that I’m not wearing them. So I think he’s pretty used to me either way 😂
Isn’t it interesting to think, why did God or One Source, designed a horse with a long tail….for what purpose? To swat flies away! I haven’t figured out the purpose for their mane yet other than, “ Look at me, at my mane, I am the most handsome boy, am I not?”😊

Even with those wind changes he’s still gentle and calms himself rather than tensing up. Shows what a good nature he has and connection you share.

Yep. I used to think of it as a fly, buzzing behind the horse when needed, but never touching them.
