Got my Rudnik fix for today!!! And as far as hand feeding this beautiful boy, it’s an extension of the bond that he has with you. Beautiful and trusting. Some people will always look at horses as animals that need to know their place, and nothing more. Rudnik knows his place with you. He’s a beloved member of your family and your affection for him is heart warming ,as his is for you. Thank you for bringing this lovely, uplifting journey to our lives.🥰
Wow! The bloom on Rudnik is astonishing….i can’t even see his former “rescue” self even when I squint real hard. He’s so handsome 🤩 His tail up trot/prance gets me every time! What a blessing to have him boarded where the owner(s) keep you posted on his well being.
Oh man, he's sweet and handsome, killer combo! The pretty snowy landscape and raven sounds really take me back! When the boys in black were just standing together in solidarity of their love for you🥲! I'm sad that you get these criticisms, (I would feel hurt and annoyed both that people thought I would film being unsafe), but they are helpful in that you give an explanation to people who might not know, which is important. Best wishes to all of you!
It’s getting so close now! The last 8 months feel like they’ve flown but these last few weeks have definitely slowed down a bit more. But still just over 5 weeks away feels so surreal to say 🥲
What a lovely looking herd in beautiful surrondings, it is so nice to see them like that, but its hard on you but you can tell he loves you both but the herd is calling for him, he is a lovely boy. 🥰
Texas USA 🇺🇸 Greetings. It is wonderful to see you & B & of course our handsome fellow Rudnik. He’s the talk in my neighborhood. I have friends here that I introduced them to Rudnik. They love him too. Our Thanksgiving is tomorrow so we include you & B & Rudnik & baby as we are thankful for all of you. I can have a bad day & all I have to do is turn on Rudnik’s video & everything is alright in the world again. I just found out Canada 🍁 🇨🇦 celebrates Thanksgiving the second Monday in October. So belated Happy Thanksgiving. I’m so thankful Rudnik has you & B & b (little b😊). Take care. Always LOVE BLESSINGS & always PRAYERS. 😊❤️🙏🍁🇨🇦✝️
Ohh ho I LOVE me some crunchy snow footsteps/hoofbeats & a beefy almost jet black Roany pony, the perfect combination!! His reaction when you called him over 🤪😂 “oh hi it’s you mom, listen I love y’all but I’ve been really enjoying this new “dating” lifestyle where I get to hang out with so many girls” SUCH a teen boy 😉😁🥲can I get back to them now?? He really did pick up your ADHD but oof he looks so GOOD in the snow,❄️ I do think he can sense that his little brother is getting ever closer to meeting him.🥹💙🖤🐎☃️Thank you for lifting my spirits with this video Rudnik I had quite the adrenaline filled 6 am wake up call (everything is fine my 14 year old pup decided to go for a little winter pool dip🙈)he makes me feel better!!
@ 😅yeah I honestly believe that she shaved a good few years off my lifespan 😂she’s almost 15 & I’m pretty sure she just got a little bit disoriented or tripped. Thank god my dad taught her & our other 2 pups to swim when we first moved in though bc she knew where the shallow end was but wasn’t certain exactly where the steps were (older dogs can display signs of something called Cognitive Disfunction Syndrome)& I’m pretty confident that my girl has it bc she does sometimes forgot what she’s doing or where she’s at,I’ll say her name & she’ll be staring into space. I’ll reach down to touch her & she’ll get a bit jumpy “oh it’s you mom” then just like people 🐶 can also get dementia luckily she’s back to her sassy self after a couple hours under heavy blankets and a heating pad ☺️🤍
OK! Right off the bat, I'm going to admit that my knowledge of horses is limited and what knowledge I have gained has been through your videos. Frankly, over the course of my viewing your posts, I have been amazed at the intelligence and affection that Rudnik has displayed. Now, as I said, I am not familiar (my loss) with horses and do not know what to expect from them. So let me ask you, is Rudnik an equine Einstein or would you expect the same level of communication and bonding with any horse that was treated with the same loving care as you have treated Rudnik?
I’ve seen many horses who have the same level of emotional connection as Rudnik, Some even more to be honest. It all comes down to your training and how they’re raised. If someone raises and trains them as ‘oh they’re just a horse to ride’ you won’t get that same level of connection. But if you raise them as ‘this is my best friend, my partner’ and allow them to grow in their curiosity and natural personality then I believe any horse has the potential to be just as connected, loving and affectionate 🥰
You look fantastic, and Rudnik is clearly a horse who is living his best life. You gave that to him. I love watching the two of you together. Please don't take other's people's negative comments to heart. Truly, it's about them, not you.
I love the parts about hand feeding and personal space. My horse is conscious of where he places his feet, especially when I'm wearing sandals but yet a lot people would say the same thing... personal space or don't hand feed. i"ve had my horse 29 years, 30 really because I had his mum. After this long... NONE of the rules matter kinda, he just knows how to care now and very respectful. COMPLETELY different story for other people with him though, he will test them on their confidence and won't even let other people catch him.
Yes! And every horse is different and I totally understand where the ‘rules’ come from. But like all training methods, it’s not one size fits all and just because one says this, doesn’t make it the universal rule. No one knows their horses better than their owner and it’s up to each of us to know what works best with them 🥰
Hi. You have a unique bond with Rudnick. People say don't feed because in common horse language if a horse takes food from you and enters your space, it can lead to dominant behavior. Rudnick respects you and adores you. As long as he remains respectful and gentle, it's wonderful to watch. I admire your loving relationship.
It’s Thanksgiving here and wishing all of you a lovely day! You’re getting so close now, can’t wait to see the little guy ❤ Rudnik knows he can trust you and understands it goes both ways. He’d never bite your hand, it’s not in his nature thanks to your love, kindness and patience. Great to see everyone today! Enjoy your week ❤❤ Rudnik really is just beautiful… majestic high tail and all.
Happy Thanksgiving! We celebrated last month here in Canada but I always feel like we get a second one when our American friends celebrate 🥰 thank you so much! The time is definitely flying and little cowboy will be here before we know it!
I laughed till the tears flowed with the "fake belly full of carrots" comment. Thanks, I needed that.🤣We've had only abour one hour of sunshine in the last 7 days here in Michigan and it's beginning to get me down. Winter is due to hit here starting tomorrow with lots of 'Lake effect' snow off Lake Michigan. Used to be a winter lover, but I'm old and gray now and it's no fun anymore.😒
Is it possible! Rudnik looks even more gorgeous than the last video. What a beautiful masculine horse. Can't wait to put my 2025 Rudnik calendar up😊 Happy Thanksgiving, everyone 😊
Oh my! I haven't been able to watch in awhile. The baby is really growing!! Hes going to be sturdy, I think. You can tell you're getting close to due date. What a wonderful Christmas or New year gift he will be. Iam so happy for you. May you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and don't forget, eat some pumpkin pie for the baby!!
Thank you so much! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! In Canada we celebrated our Thanksgiving last month but your pumpkin pie comment reminds me I still have one piece left in the freezer! I may need to pull that out so I can celebrate again along with you! 🥰
I had to come out of “lurky turkey” mode to share the guffaw I had at around 5:05 concerning treats. lol. I felt that “pregnant pause” & you keep doing what’s right between you & Rudnik. You know your horse, he knows not to chomp on ya thumb & both of you have come so far because you trust one another. ❤ You keep doing what you can, when you can & Rudnik will be ready to amaze us all some more. Rest as much as you can now that you’re in the home stretch & be patient w/ yourself. Hey, has Rudnik tried parsnips? My buddy’s horse is on a diet & as I’m that kinda dork that likes to give the horses treats, they asked me to only give him parsnip pieces as they’re lower in “sugar” & calories but has that carroty flavor horses love. ✌️
Oh no I’ve never tried those with him yet! I should compile a list of new things for him to try and see if he likes anything more than he likes his carrots haha
He is such a good boy, he has made friends, and helped his loss of you seeing him as much, and you apreasiate how he has grown, , it is like wat hi g your baby grow, , he is adapting to the loss of you, =))
Yes exactly! Open hand so they don’t accidentally take your fingers with them. I had a mare when I was young who accidentally caught my finger tips with the carrot. Not her fault at all - I had some good bruises under my finger nails for a few months and lesson learned - flatten the hand BEFORE offering it 🥲
I think you would enjoy the clever cowgirl.. excellent information on working with horses. She has dealt with some very difficult and totally unstarted wild mustangs. I just mention her as she hand feeds treats when appropriate for the horse and really understands horse mentality. Each animal is also unique and different and no one set of rules applies to any animal.
Heh, Rudnik is a Lover, he's not aware that he's a Gelding, not a Stallion! Still, he missed you both, and was annoyed at the long absence too I'd wager. And since no one rode him, he got impatient with being away from "his" herd of buddies, lol. Hope all is well for all of you, Rudnik, B, Mom and Little Man! I am really happy knowing the people boarding Rudnik seems to adore him, since it's hard not to adore him!
You must have been so happy to see him .. he looks great.. i wanted to write you when u were saying how difficult pregnancy was for u .. my daughter did not enjoy being pregnant either and i admire your honesty.. best of luck to you !! PS my daughter had her baby girl and is really enjoying being a mom
The never ha d feed your horse comment really gets me. Who comes up with all of these rules? I got my first horse when I was 10 and probably broke every rule in the book, yet we both survived. That also reminds me of all of the unsolicited advice that I received when I had my children such as don't hold your baby because you'll spoil them. In one ear and out the other. You can't spoil a newborn! 😅😮
He's happy to see you come and happy to see you go, you must like that, he's happy. 😂. I don't have a horse but I have been hand feeding two horses I see all summer. I am careful, accidents can happen, never have in the 6 yrs we've been pals, but sometimes they get my whole hand in their mouth, outside their teeth 😂, feels weird but nice still. Love them.❤
Rudnick is just a special fella! As for you, hang in there and remember; when you get that irresistable urge to clean out your closet, you are just a day or two away (take walks, it helps)! Blessed Be! and ps I'm old enough to be your Grandma and I've never heard of anything so silly as NOT hand feeding your best friend/horse, he's part of your growing family. Preposterous idea!
Things happen for a reason we don’t always understand, but Rudnik having to leave his old boarding site was definitely a good reason. You can’t see him as often but he’s got lots of friends and someone who keeps you updated on how he’s doing. I think all that’s the reason it happened like it did. Good luck in the coming weeks. Hope your birthing is a smooth one and that your little cowboy is perfect.
I agree! I wouldn’t have had the same level of care for him at the old place, knowing he has eyes on him every single moment of the day now is so reassuring especially as we get deeper into winter and after little cowboy is born I’m not sure who long it’ll be before I can make it back out. At least I know he’s well loved when I’m not there 🥰
Yeah, those last several weeks are for fine tuning the baby’s remaining systems, and packing on the final pounds. My 2 babies were born 6.5 and 7 weeks early, respectively (preeclampsia both times 😳😬), and were both about 4.5 lbs at birth. (In lbs, normal weight is 6-8? lbs.). So they missed out on that final weight gain. Giving birth was easier I imagine (nothing to compare it to) but 3 weeks in the NICU was not a good trade off. Hang in there, you’re almost at this finish line! And for the record, I didn’t particularly enjoy being pregnant either. Wonderful to see you again! Gave me a nice little break during preparations for tomorrow.
I definitely feel like I’ve grown more in the last few weeks than the last 8 months combined 🥲 I’m preparing myself for going past the due date as I’ve heard it’s quite common with first pregnancies but I’m due first week of January so hopefully not too much later than that. Wow! Your babies just couldn’t wait to get here, I hope they are both doing well and healthy now! But I agree, as excited as I am to be through the pregnancy stage, the NICU wouldn’t be an ideal trade off. I’ll be 35 weeks this coming Sunday so if we can at least make it to 36 I’ll be happy and then he can come anytime he wants 😂
@ Thank you, they are both in their mid-30’s now and healthy. And they weren’t necessarily eager to get here, I was induced early both times to save both my life and theirs. So you’re in a stage now I never got to experience. Have a wonderful day! I’m off to keep fixing our thanksgiving dinner. 😁
@@rudniktheroan Hahaha, no worries! And even if I did find it upsetting that you forgot, or even just said that (which I absolutely don’t! ☺️👍), I’d just blame it on pregnancy brain. 😂 But life is too short to get upset over nonessentials. You and your videos make me smile, and lighten tough days, and I include you and yours in the things I’m grateful for today.
Absolute majestic creatures you do know that the horse is God's chosen animal unfortunately I do not have horses but I'm surrounded by people who do have been all my life it's funny how all of them feed their horses apples or carrots
I see most of the online horse people hand feed their treats to horses, also some hold hay in their hands….so ignore any comments from those who do not know 😊 Love Rudnik and that tail ❤
It's very sad that you just can't be with him so much right now but he's clearly living his best life in a healthy herd of feisty females and friends. He's not pining for company. My female cats also slapped the boys most but it's all fine. In the catworld the meanest girls seem to be the most attractive to the silly boycats.
My horse moved almost 700km’s and was put in a paddock with my cousins horse and two ponies. He was in prime condition but dropped so much weight that you would have thought that he was being starved. At the time it was put down to the acclimatisation but in hindsight it was bullying. He also had bites on him but at the time I didn’t realise that they were bites. We moved him and with the expertise of a local veterinarian we got him back into shape. He was born on a beautiful property where they had the best of everything and he’d not been in a situation where he had to contend with paddock politics. ❤
Aw I’m so sorry! Moves can be so stressful on them (and us!) it’s always so nerve wracking to see how everyone will get along with each other. I’m super blessed that Rudnik has been doing as well as he has in his new home - bites aside - he’s fit in quite well. He just doesn’t stand up for himself because he’s a lover not a fighter 🥲 I’m so sorry you had that experience with your boy. I’m so glad to hear he’s since recovered though! 💞
Love your channel. New Subscriber. I don't know anything about the care of horses and love watching you and Rudnik together. He's so magnificent and such a gentle horse. One silly (maybe?) question, doesn't he get cold out there??🥶
We are all awaiting the announcement. Handfeeding horses may not be common in Canada, but in the States, it is not uncommon. I'm subscribed to a site where they have a horse farm in Missouri and even have some Clydesdales they have rescued. One who is an intact stallion was a yearling when they got him and was in bad shape. But with care and nutrition he has recovered and now almost 4 and close to 2000 pounds, they hand fed him some treats very early on. I also watch the Helping Albertas Wildies Society site. A stallion will smell the poop of a mare, then pee on it then step forward and raise his head to let every one know she belongs to him. So, smelling the poop may be second nature to geldings, but not the last two steps.
Yes! It all comes down to the individual horse and if they’re safe to hand feed. I know Rudnik won’t take my hand off and respects my space so I had feed. I also believe it’s a part of our bonding, considering he was too scared to even get close enough to hand feed when I first adopted him 🥹 And I agree about the poop! They can smell a lot about the horse who dropped it, even identifying which horse it was based on the scent. I just think it’s funny how Rudnik will come to nearly a dead stop at any 💩 pile he finds to give it a good sniff 😂
No matter what your position in the herd, there's always someone waiting to take your place. It's tough at the top, gotta get back & be sure I've still got my place...in her heart...dang, shoulda brought some of those carrots...
Is Rud due in 5 weeks too? 😂 He looks fantastic! Some of those bites may be love bites. I had a mare that bit the crap out of my stud when they were flirting. Nothing "serious", but she definitely left her mark. LOL
I always hand fed my horses treats! You just have to know how to do it carefully with some of them, just like dogs! ❤ PS- My hubby is a Christmas baby and says he was robbed, cuz people give him one gift and say it's for both Christmas and his birthday! 😅 ❤
Aww haha I’ve heard that a lot. Little cowboy due in the first week of January so as long as he doesn’t come early to make it in time for gifts we might be able to avoid a Christmas baby 😂
In the stable where I volunteer, the protocol is to feed snacks from a "snack bowl," but to be clear, these are horses used for therapy and there are clients of all ages, so it's just more of a safety issue for both the horse and the client. If it was my own horse, yeah, you do what you want to because you know your horse.
I totally agree with that too! Especially if it’s not YOUR horse or you don’t know the behaviours they may display. Definitely safer to feed that way. Even when I took my equine psychology course it never advised to NOT hand feed, it simply taught the correct way to do it. There is nothing wrong with it unless food aggression or behaviours are at play and if it’s your own horse that you know what to expect, it’s your choice 😊
The only time I've ever seen a problem with hand feeding is a horse that is always into your personal space. I know there are trainers who say NEVER!!! Every horse is different and unique. And the same horse that maybe doesn't respect person A will totally respect person B. Blanket statements: Always, every time, etc., aren't.
Agree! Training is never a ‘one size fits all’ approach and every horse owner knows their horses best. If Rudnik was very much an ‘in your face/pocket’ horse that put my safety at risk then it would be another story. I’ve met horses who have grown up like lap dogs with no discipline or correction when crossing that line and they become a true danger to your safety. It truly makes me appreciate Rudnik’s awareness that much more
💥 You may not feel it but you look great. These last weeks are the toughest. Make time to get off your feet each day. Time to put your hospital bag together and have it ready to go. Hopefully you have completed Lamaze classes and you and B are feeling more confident about the babies arrival. B can spend some time with Rudnik now, this is the time he needs to get into the habit of helping with him. Once the baby comes you will be too busy and tired to get out there even every two weeks. His schedule will be a little freer. Have him start now while you still feel like going - he needs to be 100% hands on at this juncture so YOU are comfortable when he is taking care of Rudnik on his own...time is short now. But you all look great! Cheers! And since I know you are in Canada, I wont bother with Thanksgiving greetings! How about God save us from Donald J Trump and his Tariffs instead? 💥
💥 This is what I'm saying...why are YOU cleaning the hooves? I've seen B do it in previous vids...Step up B! Take charge, keep in mind, this is also what makes a Man a great Father too. Rudnik looking at the girls...tail up in the air, but then comes running for a carrot! LMAO! Such a boy! 💥
Does Rud think he's a stud ? I had a gelding that people said was " proud cut" implying he still acted like a stallion, he didn't mount mares but he always reacted around them.
@@marrop2760 a healthy horse will grow a very thick and full natural coat. Putting a blanket on them will only do more harm than good. It can lead to overheating and their coats won’t grow in as thick as they need to keep them warm. The only reason to blanket would be if they’re sick, old or any other reason they may not be able to grow their own full coat naturally.
I lovelovelove the fancy dancy tail when he's getting all hoity toity. It's hilarious and adorable.
He’s fancy and he knows it 😂
Nice farm owner! It’s massive when you have support from everyone around you.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your blooming family. Rudnik is a stud. I can't imagine what he would be like if he wasn't gelded.

Great to see you all looking great! Looks chilly! ❤
He is such a good boy, he has made friends, and helped his loss of you seeing him as much, and you apreasiate how he has grown, , it is like wat hi g your baby grow, , he is adapting to the loss of you, =))
Dec 22 is a great birth day! ❤
I was taught as a child to keep the palm open and flat to feed by hand.
AWESOME!!! December 22 is MY birthday 🎂 🎉❣️💕
@ My great nephew too!
Yes exactly! Open hand so they don’t accidentally take your fingers with them. I had a mare when I was young who accidentally caught my finger tips with the carrot. Not her fault at all - I had some good bruises under my finger nails for a few months and lesson learned - flatten the hand BEFORE offering it 🥲
Happy Thanksgiving. ❤ To You and Yours. And to Rudnik.❤
Happy Thanksgiving to you!
I like Freespirit equestrian also!...She has an amazing channel.
Thank you 😊
As a December baby…I think it’s an exciting🥳🎄 and beautiful❄️ month to be born.
Aww thank you so much and congrats to your daughter and yourself on the new little girl! 🥰
That is some seriously crunchy snow! It must be really cold there. Have a great Thanksgiving!
It gets cold fast! We can go from having sun and warmth one day to a literal snow storm the next
He's cute. I grew up w- horses. We always hand fed. We had no problems. Thank u 4 the video. Happy 🦃 Day evry1.
Happy thanksgiving!
Rudnik returning to the herd - it’s all good until someone call's him a mumma's boy. Hehe
Happy Thanksgiving.
To you as well! 🥰
I wish you could see him more often!
I do too 😭 I Really miss being able to see him every day
Rudnik has the fanciest of fancy tails.😅
He’s positively regal looking but his tail is very *extra* 🥰
Oh yes I apologize, I forgot that’s what happens with preeclampsia, I’m sorry!
Girl friends are important.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you!
@ ❤️
We call them "pocket ponies".😊
I wish you and your little family and Rudnik a very Happy Thanksgiving (although yours was in October), but it is the thought that counts........😘😍
Thank you! And happy thanksgiving to you as well!
4:31 - 4:38 - He “LITERALLY” *struts* like a 🐔”ROOSTER”🐔
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I also believe it’s a part of our bonding, considering he was too scared to even get close enough to hand feed when I first adopted him 🥹
And I agree about the poop! They can smell a lot about the horse who dropped it, even identifying which horse it was based on the scent. I just think it’s funny how Rudnik will come to nearly a dead stop at any 💩 pile he finds to give it a good sniff 😂
Did you bring his girlfriend to him & keep them happy! 🙂🙋♀️🇦🇺 Good.
Best wishes on your upcoming birth. Nice Rudnik has some group support as well.
Thank you! 😊
PS- My hubby is a Christmas baby and says he was robbed, cuz people give him one gift and say it's for both Christmas and his birthday!
It truly makes me appreciate Rudnik’s awareness that much more
Please let him smell your belly!
almost makes me want to get a horse, almost.
AMEN! 😊
LMAO! Such a boy! 💥
She's pregnant, she's not crippled. The little cowboy is fine.
Because I’m trying to keep as active as I can - I get little physical movement these days and the little things like this bring me joy
Does Rud think he's a stud ? I had a gelding that people said was " proud cut" implying he still acted like a stallion, he didn't mount mares but he always reacted around them.
He’s not proud cut but he just likes to be ✨fancy✨ for his ladies 😂
If I may ask.... where are their COATS?
@@marrop2760 a healthy horse will grow a very thick and full natural coat. Putting a blanket on them will only do more harm than good. It can lead to overheating and their coats won’t grow in as thick as they need to keep them warm. The only reason to blanket would be if they’re sick, old or any other reason they may not be able to grow their own full coat naturally.
Does he get to be in the stables at night?
Nope I’ve never stabled him. He’s outside 24/7 with trees as a natural shelter
male acts like the pregnant one.
This seems the most ridiculous title ever. Who wouldn’t had feed their horse ?
Sorry just hit me wrong way.
@@StElmosFire53 where did it say anything about him not being fed?
