hi guys, i think this will give you some more insight into the challenges back when ep was starting out. i don't think people realise how confronting he had it. there was no blueprint, and the world was segregated, but he never saw color. he was into all types of music but grew up dirt poor in tupelo in a black community. to do what he did, in that time took guts. it wasnt american idol, he took some harsh feedback in a society determined to supress him. enjoy i think youll get some new found respect - plus this dispels the rumors that are so wrong about him stealiing black music, and even being racist. he was just like you 2 - a standup guy !! cheers, Matt

I’ve seen the documentary so many times and every single time I get goosebumps. Thank you so much for doing more Elvis.😊❤

John Lennon once said, "before Elvis, there was nothing. " He was the very 1st super mega star.

This “Elvis & the Black Community” is a very well edited shortened version of a show that DJ Casey Kasem made called “The Echo Will Never Die”. I applaud whoever originally edited and shortened the show to make this “black community” video! It has caused many people change their minds about Elvis, who would never have watched the original show.

Elvis gave plenty of credit. On the 1969 Las Vegas press conference he said I'm not the King, Fats Domino is the King. Just an example of what he said.

  • @patriciaphillips4805

a reporter ask Elvis, "How is the #1 singer in the world"? He smiled at her and said, "honey, I don't really know, I haven't spoken with Roy Orbison in a couple of months".

My mom said, “As soon as we heard Elvis had a new record, we couldn’t wait to get it.” Which was the same for me in the 70’s. As soon as I heard a new Elvis song on the Radio (because in the 70’s teens listened to radio, not watching tv) 😁. And it wasn’t just the girls going crazy over Elvis. Oh, I Love THAT MAN ♥️

There will never be another Elvis Presley. He was truly a gift from God.

Excellent reaction. This is just a portion of the entire documentary. You are so right, Suzy, that to hear from people who were around him is the best. I have never heard a bad word about Elvis from his fellow musicians or people who worked with him in the movies, or interviewed him. I met him, my sister worked for him and I thought he was the sweetest, most humble, caring and generous person I ever met. Love you 2!!❤❤❤

There is absolutely nothing that I don't love about this man!!! He is just too precious! An amazing gift for a short time on earth, but being kept alive by those of us who understand his significance! -Colleen ♥️

  • @Wishes890

Many people complain about Elvis being called The King, but that isn't a title he gave himself, it's the title that everyone else gave him. He considered himself to be an average singer

  • @javelldunn3379

I like Elvis he is the best singer the entire world love him ❤

  • @johnnyhayhurst196

He was so good looking….ALL THE PEOPLE AGREED.

  • @gorse9030

Excellent reaction guys to a guy subject to so much negativity in his life but still some will never be convinced - such a shame but that's life I guess

  • @williambrown828

Elvis paved the way for what followed. The Beatles that if not for Elvis we would not be. He is also the first to use drums in a band.

  • @karenestep1878

Many of us saw him on early tv in the 50%, we were as young as 3-4 years old. My parents were watching, they were about his age. I’ll never forget how that man not only got my full attention, something gripped my spirit/soul... and that touch never left! Just from tv as a very young child. Still in black and white, no color in the 50’s. Techno color came out in the 60’s. Of course you had to buy a color TV set.

You know he was a giant if he was willing to turn down a gig at the Astrodome over a few backup singers. How many performers would be willing to lose the Astrodome? I mean, who else, at that time could even play a stadium?

  • @munzy5865

Many artists come n go but the ones that change minds and improves them and others are truly " LEGENDS"

  • @emerald1805

Elvis said in an interview in Houston, (which you can watch on RUclips) that he was first and foremost influenced by COUNTRY music, and that the Grand Ole Opry was the first music he ever listened to - but that he’d hate to call himself a strictly country singer because he had many other influences.
