You have just witnessed the GREATEST ENTERTAINER THE WORLD WILL EVER SEE!!!!! No auto-tune no pitch correction just PURE PERFECTION!! No one will ever come close to Elvis the power the passion the emotion. A gift to us all from GOD himself. Long live the KING.
Well said!!!!!!
@@christophertaylor5441 Thank you, it's very easy to tell the truth.
Yes So True ! Like John Lennon From The Beatles Who Was Inspired By Elvis Said Before Elvis There Was Nothing !
I think everyone is missing the significance of the songs he chose. Dixie was a Confederate song. Glory, Glory Hallelujah was a Union song. All My Trials summed it up with children lost their fathers no matter the reason for the war.
This was naturally understood by the audiences back in the day.
Make you cry
Elvis was a gift from the celestial realms , Elvis was a special light in this world for a brief but glorious time ❤
Don't cry because he's gone; smile because he was here.
I'm 43 I was introduced to Elvis music when I was six this elvis man is my musical hero
Yes! Thank you!
What a wonderful thought, Go Elvis. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
This man is not a result of mere genetics. God did this. What a performance.
The genes are made by God ;-)
The crazy thing is that there could have been two of them! He had an identical twin brother that died at birth :(
@@lillkvirran so when God makes 1 great he doesnt let the other one live nice...........
A prince from another planet....
I agree, however, correct me of the stand that I'm wrong but this is rehearsal show. After watching the play back , the first thing he did was get a haircut...
He still gives me the chills. So much expression in his singing
Me too, and I am 75,
@@lindaartz3297 my sister and cousin went to see him in the 70's and my cousin got one of those sweaty scarves he used to toss to the crowd! She was so excited to have it.
That voice so strong, could sing any type of music. Gospel a whole new level. Gave it so much meaning. True gift.
a song the equal of elvis' 'american trilogy' is 'oid man river' by frank sinatra, live!!
To this day
If this doesn't bring tears to your eyes..........you have no soul.
Amen.
I don't think evidence of a soul is predicated on if you cry to this song. Just a hunch
millions of Republicans didnt cry one tear.............
This Republican cried my eyes out.
Just for the reason of all the men on both sides that died to make us all one nation, under God with liberty and justice for all. I can’t imagine a split America.
Elvis' charisma was amazing. His Voice and stage presence is timeless.
The King!
The King. When I was 10, nearly 50 years ago, the only time I ever saw my mother crying. The day Elvis died. Remember he grew up with gospel choirs, so he had a lot of music in him.
I was 1 and remember my dad being so upset and hugging him. My dad became an Elvis impersonator years later and was all over Scotland doing it ❤️❤️❤️
And this is why this man remains the king 46 year after his passing.
Elvis was the best he didn't need auto tunes it's all Elvis ❤️🙏
This concert was broadcast via satellite from Hawaii LIVE TO THE ENTIRE WORLD. One exception was the United States due to a conflict with the Super Bowl, It was seen the next day.. I don't know how many people watched a two night performance. My guess is hundreds of millions maybe close to a billion. I saw Elvis and this song performed in Madison Square Garden NY and I couldn't believe the power of the live performance. Was he the best singer, actor, musician or dancer? No. He was more! He was ELVIS PRESLEY!
Actually not this one as this is the full dress rehearsal concert from January 12th. The January 14th was broadcasted to the world.
The stat I heard is that the first satellite show was seen by 1.6billion people ALL OVER THE WORLD. He wanted to tour the world but that fraud puppet master col Tom wouldn't let him out of his claws. He killed Elvis but what a legacy of music and greatness he left for us. Seriously I was born a year before he died and I've been a fan my whole life. Now teaching my kids to love him. Jesus Christ that voice and the whole package he was beautiful ❤
اعظم فنان على مر العصور لم ولن يتكرر الملك بدون منازع
I don't know if you'll see this , but in 1973 this concert was broadcasted live all over the world live. I was 11 then and still remember it well even after all this years. This song means so much to me, I'm from Dixieland, and love this song.
not a man alive to this day that can compare to that man ELVIS LIVES FOREVER!!!!!
This was magnificent. Thank you Brandon for referring this to Harri. And thank you Harri for your great reaction. I have seen this many times but it takes my breath away whenever I see it. Everything about this performance was beyond description. We still miss Elvis today and always will. This is why he was the King. 👏👏❤️
CAROL MAURIZIO : WAS ? ? IS ! ! ! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@tommyrregina1227 Was IS and always will be THE KING. The greatest of all time amd a blessing to the world.
Like Elvis said: Jesus is King but we sure loved to hear Elvis sing.
He Balked EVERYTIME HE WAS CALLED "THE KING". He would stop, Point Skyward and HUMBLY say, "There is ONLY ONE KING". His faith was his foundation and though, like All of Us he often fell on life's road. The temptations were constant. But he always wanted to do "right".
There will never, ever be another Elvis. He has no equal.
Correct, who wants to be a controlled over weight drug abuser?
The Icon , The Legend, The untouchable, The master, The Immortal, The incredible, The Gladiator and King of stage, The King of style, The King of charisma, The greatest of all time, The total package, The King of Music Elvis Aaron Presley. Untill the end of time.
Nobody has said it better than you! Thank you!
Also Humble
Amen.
Elvis's live performances are always better than the studio recordings.
That's why he's not comparable to anyone.
His body language......his facial expressions .....those eagles embroidered on his sleeves......oh Elvis, there will never be anyone who comes near him .
@Stella Burnell * 👍❣
1974 in Atlanta and I was on the 3rd row. ELECTRICITY everywhere.
I’m 54 years old and I was blessed to see him live 3 times. My mom and aunt were super fans and took me when they could. And even tho I was very young and didn’t remember but two shows, I can tell you when that man came on stage it was like nothing I had ever experienced before or since. The air was electric and people were changed it was so special .that I understood
This is why Elvis is still the GOAT
And this people is why Elvis will now and forever remain the king! 👑
My God what a voice! And the best looking man ever!
FYI for those unfamiliar: The trilogy is three songs of the Civil War. "Dixie" the unofficial anthem of the South, "Battle Hymn of the Republic" the unofficial anthem of the North, and "All My Trials" a Negro spiritual.
American Trilogy is one reason why, there's Elvis, and then there is every other rock and pop vocalist who ever lived.
He was definitely top of the food chain. Vicki
Elvis had one of the most powerful singing voices ever. He was taken far too soon, can you imagine the amount of amazing music that the world missed out on? So sad. 😢
He actually had an opera singers voice that was mellowed down on certain songs. Great ass man
Elvis;s voice was so powerful! Any other singer would have been drowned out by all those backup singer voices and his terrific band and the fantastic orchestra! They had a huge sound..but Elvis's voice was front and center over all!!
Realistically most very successful singers produce less music overall and less great music after they are 40 years old.
We lost 10 years of new original music from Elvis because of Parker. He sent him away in the Army to Germany for 2 years and 8 years doing B movies.. not allowing great song writers to
write songs for Elvis because of his greed to control the publishing.. I cry thinking if this..
@@darrylrogers2337I believe it was Pavarotti who said that Elvis could have sung opera, but he would never be able to sing like Elvis!!👌💕🕺
Seeing Elvis preform live is one of my favorite memories. He still gives me chills.
When did you see him? I saw him in 1973 and 1974. 3rd row in 1974!! Perfect show and so much electricity!
I saw Sinatra twice in 80's but never saw Elvis. Big mistake.
So jealous!!!!! I share the same birthday with Elvis 😉. My daughter just moved to Texas. I’m going to visit her, and on my back home to Canada….. I’m stopping off to visit Graceland! I think I’ll cry once there❤️
Elvis was and still is the epitome of a legend. Charisma like no other, voice like no other, stage presence like no other and humble like no other. He truly is THE greatest of all time and we will never see another like him.
I saw him in 1970 at the Astrodome. The seats weren’t that great, but just being in the same room with him and breathing the same air as him was more than enough for this 14 year old girl!
Elvis can make a grown man cry.
Elvis...greatest of all time! I always enjoy your reactions. Have you reacted to his "If I Can Dream?" If not, you have missed a heart-wrenching song of hope. You should not miss it. He is in a white suit with his name in huge letters behind him. That's the best one. But there is another of his greatest. You may have heard it. " In The Ghetto." You should not miss it. Heart-wrenching? No. GUT wrenching!
I don't care how many times I watch this, it still gives me chills and goosebumps.
It brings me joy!
The man had the look the voice the patriotism the anti racism that's why they'll only ever be one King they broke the mould when they made Elvis
Probably the best live performer of all time.
As wonderful as this live performance is, you must watch his live Aloha from Hawaii performance of this song. It is absolutely flawless.
Yes!! I believe this was the rehearsal version. The Live From Aloha is AWESOME!!
This would’ve been the rehearsal for the broadcast the next day that went out via satellite
Yes there were 3 things that were better the next (real live concert) day: Elvis had his hair cut into a better looking look, he did the "arm pulling back move" better, the fluteplayer hit the perfect notes (he had a litte mistake in this version).
@@MrAlanfalk73 spot on..The official Aloha version is just a bit more perfect. But the Hampton Roads version is my favorite, especially the This is Elvis version with added strings.
@@MrAlanfalk73 You're right about the warbled note from the flute player. This is how I know it's the rehearsal. But easier to not miss is the different outfit. The live version he wore a colorful scarf. I believe it was red/orange/gold?
I cry every time I hear him sing this song. It’s really about the American Civil War. Glory Glory Hallelujah we are still one country.
I think for modern audiences, they miss some crucial points in this performance. There are no on-stage monitors, no ear plugs, no auto-tune, and he is constantly listening for 'musical cues' to know when and where to sing and move.
And who used any of the afore mentioned in those days?
I love when poor people make it!!! Elvis and Jackie Wilson were friends Elvis helped Jackie Elvis was not a racist!!❤
Played at my dads funeral. Everyone listened. Music is the only Universal thing we don’t fight over.
Elvis gets so much credit as deserved for his vocal abilities. He does not get credit enough for the arrangement and production of the music. You are right Harri. Every grunt, movement and expression he has was a telegraph to his band.
@OverandOutChief1 * I totally agree. Elvis was the most underrated arranger/producer ever! There's a You Tube video of Elvis rehearsing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" in Las Vegas 1970 that shows him putting the production together, directing the musicians and background vocalists, etc. until he got the results he wanted. His talents were limitless!
I miss him so much😪
In order to arrange music, you must first be able to read it and write music. Since Elvis could not do any of these, your comments are lies or wishful thinking, pick one and deal with it.
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 Somebody better tell artists like Yanni and George Strait that their contributions to the arrangements are null and void. If you are going to speak, at least be informed. Elvis in the studio was in charge of the product coming out. Raise the bass, lower the piano, more choral etc. He could not read or write a note. However, you don't need to. He knew what sounded good to him and strived to record how he heard it. He did this regularly. He was very much part of the production of what he was putting out.
@@OverandOutChief1 Changing a few notes does NOT! make you an arranger or producer. And in relation to the others you mentioned. When the forum and comments are made about their musical abilities, feel free to comment. Until then, Elvis was not nor will he be any kind of musical anything.
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 Imagine that? All of what you say and all I have to do to refute is say yes he does arrange his works.
The greatest
We will never see anyone as great as Elvis.
What a Performance! What a Song! What a Man! Unbelievable. This could also be the last Song I would hear in my Life and then die, it would be okay. Thank you Elvis for this Masterpiece and thank you Harri for this beautiful Reaction.
As he matured , so did his voice. So powerful and beautiful, the greatest voice of all time.....
Such a masterpiece, no auto tune, no special effects just pure Elvis
Long live the King! His voice touches your soul 💕💕💕

As big, and as good as he was as he was in the late 1950' early 60's his voice matured in the 5-6 years that eventuated in this brilliant performance. The earlier Elvis could not have pulled this off. The flute player was Gabriel Baltazar born November 1, 1929 died June 12, 2022.
I agree. His mature voice from 1968 onwards was sublime.
As he got older his voice got better
People imatate and make fun of him...I DON'T CARE! HE WILL ALWAYS BE THE KING to me!!! THE GREATEST SINGER IN MY LIFETIME!
No we never would make fun of him neeevvveerrr
Over the years I have heard this song, the live version, hundreds of times. I still get goosebumps, I still cry. Elvis will live on for hundreds of years because he has that affect on people!
My mom was a huge Elvis fan so I grew up hearing his music and watching every one of his movies. I always felt that putting him in movies was a waste of his talent. Live is the best way to see him.
I agree 100%. He was a vocal genius who commanded a stage like no other. I think of all the songs he could have, should have done instead of 8 years of his management's idea of who he should be and what he should do. Even worse knowing how much he hated them and knew it was a waste but never found the confidence to break free. Vicki
Elvis wasn't fond of Colonel Parker purring him in movies either!
HIS TRUTH IS MARCHING ON . THANK GOD FOR JESUS. THANKS TO GOD .
If Elvis will come back today ! He can repeat all his famous songs and it will sounded new to most people and he's still famous !
I love the song without ur love so brautiful but the king could sing any song
Brandon, this Elvis Presley "American Trilogy" is absolutely magnificent. I have no idea why this wasn't blocked, but every person viewing this should give thanks if they haven't seen and heard it before. Harri, thank s for reviewing this performance. Your comments were equally outstanding.
High praise Dave. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@brandonious7732 3RD row in 1974! I am so lucky!!!
I am not at all musical but I have shivers going up and down my legs. A God given talent. Thank you Elvis
He was a powerful entertainer even in the late 60s and early 70s we would sit and listen to his music but we never dreamed he would leave us quite that soon. We used to say his voice could melt the panties off of a nun in church. And I would almost bet it would.
Outstanding magnificent my idol my world love him forever and beyond
Thank you
Excellent choice Harri, these performances are why Elvis will NEVER die in our minds and hearts . Excellent video Harri 👍❤️
He is the king.
I saw him in concert twice (this same year, 1973 & again the next year) & he did this both times. It nearly brought the roof down both times. I still get goosebumps remembering it. And remembering how incredibly beautiful Elvis was, visually & vocally, in person.
Btw, this was sort of a rehearsal/first run through for the "Aloha From Hawaii" special that was televised by satellite all over the world. You really need to see the actual performance that a billion & a half people watched live in 40 countries.
It's even better (the flautist is even perfect, no little flub), the backup singers sound clearer..I think Elvis put even more emotion into it(!) & it's even more electrifying.
Please, please do a reaction to that version that we all watched, glued to our TVs, covered in goosebumps & with tears in our eyes. We want to see what you think of that one!
Much love from Kentucky U.S.
💙🇬🇧🇺🇸💙
I saw him in 73 and 74 as well!! Atlanta. 3rd row for the 1974 concert!!! AMAZING!!! WE are LUCKY!!
@@JeanetteFaith
We are very lucky indeed! And it's so cool that we both saw him twice...in the same years...and both as he swung through the South. For me it was Nashville in '73 & Louisville in '74. I had close seats also the second time, plus binoculars so even though I didn't need them I used them part of the time anyway. I was examining the pores on that gorgeous face.🤣
AND I looked at tour dates for '73. It says he was in Atlanta on June 29th & 30th. Then in Nashville on July 1st. That means, if you saw him on June 30th, I saw him the very next night!
There's a guy who put together a series of videos, one for each year, that shows every tour date..the venue..which jumpsuit Elvis wore..what the band & backup singers wore..& the set list. He even includes a photo of each venue & a couple of pics from each show.
Were both shows you attended in Atlanta? I looked at the video for '73 ( I was curious how close together the time period was that we both went) & saw the dates I mentioned above. But didn't see Atlanta in the '74 video. Maybe an error in the video?
If you're interested in those videos just type in "Elvis Tour Dates" and the year you want to see. A lot of great info & pics.
Here's a link to the '73 video..

@@deborahcornell171 lol.... You could see his pores. I just saw sweat! I had a twin sister and she was trying to touch him. I just stood there and looked. Yes, I saw him both of those years. I wonder why it doesn't show the 1974 concert in Atlanta. ??? I was there. I was in the Army and flew home to Atlanta for it. My mother worked for the Atlanta Newspaper and had connections, so that is how we got tickets. The first time in 1973 we were not that close but it was enjoyable anyway. But the 74 Show was the best concert ever!!!!! So handsome!!
I'll check out more on these tour dates, but they had to get it wrong.
You are the first person I've met that saw him twice and in the same years. WOW! Not very many people can say they saw Elvis live....let alone twice!!!
I sat with my mum in Australia and watched him we were and I’m still a huge fan he was so special he brightened up our lives TCB
I was able to see him at the University of Alabama almost a year to the day before he died. It was clear that he was very ill, but his performance was flawless. So Happy I could see him in person!
I saw him in 1973 and 1974! 3rd row in 74!!!!! This is how he ended his show. In the end, all the lights went out and all the lights shown on the American Flag on the ceiling!!! Charisma, Talent, and ELECTRICITY!!!! I've seen maybe 250 concerts and this was my favorite EVER!
There is no one like our beautiful Elvis..never will be !!! THE GOAT 🎤❤🎼🔥..Great reaction ❤

There will never be another performer like him
Elvis is the best when he’s singing live on the stage. What are the best concerts was 1970 live from Vegas the best ever that’s my request. You will love it.
Stunning..........never will we see a Man like this again.....he wasn't was from this world
Just an outstanding rendition of this song and vocals that only Elvis could deliver!
I cannot imagine anything ever topping that.... the arrangement was perfect and Elvis was 'on'. Never be another moment like it.

And this isn't even the best performance of this song! This was the rehearsal concert the day before the concert broadcast around the world. That one was amazing!
Fantastic ,Bravo !👏👏👏You won't get better than that ,EVER !😍
The last part of the trilogy was so prophetic....he was taken from us so much sooner than any of us desired.....he was the best!
Outstanding in his prime spine chilling eyes watering The King ..
Noboby but nobody could deliver a song , or even a note , like Elvis could , even the way he uses the microphone , positioning the microphone closer or further from himself to deliver the best sound , everything he has goes into his delivery . Just the most amazing , charismatic performer ever . Also have to admire how he stops to allow the other band members and musicians to have their moment in the spotlight .
Elvis, you were amazing!!!
We wish you were still with us!!!!!

Four years out of the jungle of Vietnam, I watched this live on TV in Houston, TX in 1973 on my brand new Sony Trinitron 32" TV. Had my beautiful blue eyed blond wife and my 3 year old son at my side and I will never forget the chills the American Trilogy brought to us. Thanks for reminding me.
Yeh mate those moments are brief but the memories are forever
Incredible performance by Elvis and an incredible reaction by you Mr Harri. Thank you for this beautiful moment of awe and remembrance 👍
I first saw this while watching his live from Hawaii concert on tv. Brought tears then and still does. He was so much more than king of rock n roll. All of his gospel songs are amazing!!! Still miss him 😢 💔.
Glorious. There's nothing more for me to say other than ...glorious.
Best live performance by the best ever--and all his trials would be over less than 5 years later. Still miss him and still cry at this video.

I've heard Elvis sing this a thousand times and it always gives me goosebumps and brings tears to my eyes! I grew up in the south of the USA. I've picked cotton in the blazing sun in the fields with my parents and grandparents for money. I've sang these 3 songs many times in church and in elementary school. They mean a lot to me. I've told my family when I die I want this song by this man played. Thank you for taking your time and sharing with us. 🇺🇸
Elvis is why hes Elvis and called the king
Imagine him in the 1980s and 90s-- parker fired -- playing this song and others in Yankee Stadium, Red Rocks, the largest stadiums and important venues in the entire world….

He emotes like no other singer. Looks and otherworldly talent. It's uncanny!
elvis makes it look so easy, it's...well it just shows how GOAT he was, so many singers are overrated but I don't think Elvis could ever be rated high enough
Hi Harry, I haven't seen you lately , I only listen to ELVIS reactions and I have always loved yours ,, Elvis gives me Chills every time he opens his mouth, the Man is Pure Magic and Charisma and Charm and the looks of a Greek God,, he's the Goat of Music, and entertainment , he commands the stage , he owns it , but at the same time he and his band members are having a great time , they have to follow his move , you never know but to expect from the Greatest Showman The World has ever Known, thanks for the great reaction, stay with Elvis. Besides being incredibly beautiful/sexy his voice is one of a kind. So clear & unique. His range. I like the live version better also, it was ALL his voice.
Gosh!!!! That voice is THE VOICE, and that Hallelujah makes me feel the way you describe with tears in my eyes and feeling full of emotion. Maybe Ethereal or Otherworldly could be good superlatives I think.
