AC/DC- If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It). Rush- Exit Stage Left. Saxon- The Eagle Has Landed. Black Sabbath- Live Evil.
Thanks Darcy, another great show! KISS - Alive! is the album that got me into music seriosly back in 1977 and therefore is my fave Live album of all times. Other great live albums that I love are: AC/DC - If You Want Blood You Got It Iron Maiden - Live After Death Judas Priest - Unleashed In The East Queen - Live Killers Rainbow - On Stage Saxon - The Eagle Has Landed Scorpions - Tokyo Tapes Thin Lizzy - Live And Dangerous UFO - Strangers In The Night Keep up the great work and Rock on Darcy! 🤘🤘
Kiss-Alive! was my very first live album. My mother also bought me "The Originals" at the same time. Stupid kid I was, I never took care of it. I wish I still had it, as it's a sought after collector's item. To find one in mint shape with all the cards and stickers is almost impossible.
Some killers here. Live After Death is fantastic. One of my favorite live albums is Metal Church live 1986. And also W.A.S.P. Live... In The Raw. Ozzy - Tribute, Kreator - Live in Berlin 1990, Sabbat - Live in Berlin 1990. Not a big fan of live albums in general, but there was a lot of good one back in the days. Great video. Cheers.
Oh man that Sabbat one from the box set is killer, it sounds the way a live album is supposed to sound, you can’t beat Martin’s banter lol. Cheers Roger 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Haha, no. The words flew out of his mouth, don't know how much the audience pick up though. Did see them live once, and they were an excellent live band.
1 UFO - Strangers In The Night 2 Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same 3 Queen - Live Killers 4 Rainbow - On Stage 5 Thin Lizzy - Live And Dangerous 6 Foghat - Live 7 Slade - Alive 8 MC5 - Kick Out The Jams 9 Deep Purple - Made In Japan 10 Gasolin - Live Sadan
I just realized looking at your username that you may be a Walter Rossi fan? I've been a fan since the 70s, I think he's one of the greatest guitarists of all time! He plays one of my top 10 favorite solos on Silent I Wait - simply amazing!
Double live Gonzo….older brother’s album. I was so young. I listened to that over and over. Loved it. It sounded so wild. And I loved how the record said it was recorded in different places. My older brother took me to my first concert……Nugent 😛
As soon as I saw the title, I knew Iron Maiden's Live After Death will be in there! Great list Darcy! Nice to see Scorpions, Rush, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath in there!
I have everything you showed except the Accept Staying a Life. Will check that out. 2 others I’d like to mention are Thin Lizzy Live and Dangerous and Blue Oyster Cult On Your Feet or on Your Knees. Both fantastic. Great video. Stay Heavy.
I know of that Thin Lizzy album, just need to check it out properly! That Accept is awesome, check out Udo’s scream at the beginning of Fast As A Shark haha. Hope all is good your way 🤘 Cheers Mike
Great list Darcy, here's a few I would add.. Sabbath- Past Lives (the super deluxe box sets are great for live extras) Blackfoot-Highway Song Live AC/DC-If You Want Blood Motorhead-No Sleep Till Hammersmith Deluxe box set Adore Scorpions Tokyo Tapes and Priest Unleashed
😃👍My favorite 10 Live albums in no particular order. 1/ Thin Lizzy: live and dangerous 2/ Trust: Paris by night 3/ UFO: strangers in the night 4/ Accept: staying a life 5/ Whitesnake: Live...in the heart of the city 6/ Vardis: 100 m.p.h 7/ Judas Priest: unleashed in the east 8/ M.S.G: one night at Budokan 9/ Scorpions: Tokyo tapes 10/ Ted Nugent: intensities in 10 cities
Great stuff, Darcy! I’m right with you regarding UFO. I finally picked up “Strangers in the Night” a few years back. It definitely lives up to its reputation. Another one in that category for me is “Live and Dangerous” from Thin Lizzy. I’m not familiar with much of their catalog, but it’s a great live album!🍻🤘🏼
Awesome list my friend I also go with Kiss Alive! and U.F.O. Strangers in the night ! My other eight Albums are: Manigance "Memoires...Live" Dokken "Beast from the east" Dirkschneider "Back to the roots-Accepted" Sinner "In the line of fire....Live in Europe" Dirty Looks "Cool from the Speedway" Lynyrd Skynyrd "Last of the Street Survivors" Enforcer "Live by fire" Krokus "Adios Amigos" Live at Wacken Greetings from Heiko
I’m glad you mentioned that Dirkschneider album, I featured it in my 10 favourite newer live album 2000 to 2021 video. I hope they do another one like that, it’s going to be even better now that Peter Baltes joined U.D.O. Thanks for sharing your list my friend 🤘 Cheers Heiko
It is extremely hard to limit such a list to 10, or even 15 albums, but you did a very good job. Scorpions' "Tokyo Tapes" and Rainbow's "On Stage" are two of the must-have titles in every Heavy Metal fan's collection, in my opinion. Along with 50 other titles we can easily think of 🤣
I think you nailed it! And like you said, Rush, Iron Maiden, Scorpions and Priest have more great live albums that are fantastic. Here are some other bands with great classic live albums from the 70’s and 80’s: Deep Purple - Made In Japan Thin Lizzy - Live And Dangerous Ozzy - Tribute Y&T - Open Fire Morörhead - No Sleep ’Til Hammersmith AC/DC - If You Want Blood You’ve Got It Frank Marino/Mahogany Rush - Live Pat Travers - Live! Go For What You Know Rory Gallagher - Stage Struck Take care!🤘
Great topic! Some of my favorites, in no particular order... Great White - Great Zeppelin Yngwie - Live in Leningrad Scorpions - World Wide Live Judas Priest - Priest Live Dokken - Beast from the East Europe - Live at Sweden Rock Maiden - Live After Death Halford - Live Insurrection
Oh yes Beast From The East is awesome, I’m quite sure you will see it in my next 10! I’m glad you mentioned Halford too, very good! Thanks as always 🤘 Cheers Jimmy
Hi Darcy!! killer live albums, i think the 70 and early 80's were the best years for this type of releases, imo.....I still need to add to my collection that Accept live recording, it's really good and it almost reads like a greatest hits. Also one i like very much is ACDC's "If you want Blood...." killer stuff from the Bon Scott era, also Helloween's "Live in UK" only, it0s to short. cheers and be well
Some great albums there, most of which I have. A few other older live albums that I own and love - Motorhead, No Sleep Til Hammersmith, Magnum, Marauder, Ted Nugent, Double Live Gonzo and Nazareth, Snaz
Outstanding choices there Darcy. All killer live albums. UFO, Rush and Maiden are some of the highlights for me. And yes some live albums contain the best live versions of songs! Some of my favourites are Saxon - St George's Day, Night Demon - Live Darkness and Alice Cooper - Brutally Live. Sounds like you've got enough for a part 2 at some point.
Iced Earth- Alive In Athens is my #1 Others that I love: Judas Priest- Live ‘98 Meltdown Iron Maiden- Rock In Rio Evergrey- A Night to Remember Nightwish- Showtime Storytime Mötley Crüe- Carnival of Sins Metallica- Live Shit (Mexico City) Dokken- Beast From the East
Made In Japan , Deep Purple Live In the Heart of the City , Whitesnake. Live and Dangerous, Thin Lizzy.. Irish Tour 1974 , Rory Gallagher. No Sleep till Hammersmith, Motorhead. Rockin the Fillmore, Humble Pie. Live Dates , Wishbone Ash. You got Rush and UFO bang on but its Worldwide Live over Tokyo Tapes for me. Stay well and happy.
Not a huge live album guy either but I genuinely love 3!!! Kiss Alive,UFO strangers in the night and nirvana from the muddy banks of wishkah! I knew you’d have 2 of my 3 but I knew I wouldn’t see the nirvana 😛 oh honorary mention to touch of evil live! That’s my fav priest live album! I thought they blended the older tracks and newer once’s extremely well!!!
so cool... I was waiting, if you had the Accept Live-Album on your list, and there it is! I remember discovering Accept back in the late 80s as a teenager, and I was sooo pissed that Accept had disbanded in 1989, before I got the chance to see them live. This Album was on heavy rotation when I was 16 or so. I totally agree with what you said about the Album, which goes for Unleashed... and Live after Death as well!
10 Top Live albums, 14 mentioned!! Excellent list Darcy, the metal gods are proud!! Every one of these are in my collection, top 3: Iron Maiden - Live After Death Accept - Staying A Life Scorpions - World Wide Live 🤘Cheers🍺

Great choices my friend! I´ve been listening to all the "Eagles..." parts by Saxon in the last couple of days. I recently found a cheap Japan CD copy of "Unleashed..." by Priest that has some bonus material, it makes the album even better!!! I would love to see Metallica´s "Seattle 89" show released as a propper audio version. That´s only released in the "Binge and Purge" boxset as a video tape. What a fantastic show!!! See you next friday, I´m looking forward to discuss some German Thrash with you guys!!!
Are you only showing German thrash? It’s German metal period, that’s what the boss told me lol. Also it’s Saturday not Friday, do you have a note pad or something, you should write this shit down 😂🤣
10. King Diamond-Abigail Live 9.Rush-All the World's a Stage 8. Black Sabbath-Live Evil 7. Iron Maiden-Maiden Japan 6.Judas Priest-Unleashed in the East 5. AC/DC-Live! 4.King Diamond-Deadly Lullabyes Live 3.Kiss-Alive! 2. Iron Maiden-Live After Death 1. AC/DC-If You Want Blood You've Got It. Your choices are pretty great too!
Hiya D6!…I always think BOC when live albums are in conversation, specifically “Some Enchanted Evening”(1978)…My favs reflect your (great) tastes as well-1. Scorpions “Tokyo Tapes”(1978)…Still sounds fresh and exciting as ever, like it was recorded yesterday!…I dig 1980’s Rush so I’ve always gravitated to…2. “A Show Of Hands”(1989)…Some killer renditions of “Power Windows”(1985) material, an exceptional and very underrated album there..3. Judas Priest “Unleashed”(1979)…It speaks for itself!…Stay Heavy D6
I’m glad you mentioned Show Of Hands, great live album. Rush is one of those bands I love everything from, studio & live, they just can’t do anything wrong! It’s a ranking I will get to, it will be the toughest one yet! Thanks for the great comment 🤘 Tty soon
Great picks Darcy! I'm also not the biggest Live album guy either, but I have picked up a couple over the last year or so. Live after death is probably the greatest and most popular live album of all time. My dad has always loved Exit stage left by Rush, and If you want blood by AC/DC (which I have listened to and it's great!). A more recent one I'd say would be The bastard tracks by Death Angel, and Live in Richmond by Lamb of God, both great live albums with top production! 😊🤘🏻 Forgot Ozzy Tribute!!!!
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 yeah man the Death Angel is awesome, I don't know if you've seen the DVD but that is even better as the guys talk about each song. Haha that's fair enough man, totally understand that. A lot of people aren't into them, I like the technical riffing throughout, very tricky songs to play. You're welcome mate 😊🤘
Great picks Darcy! I know you have got into Obituary lately, but i cant remember if you have picked up their live album called Dead from 1998. It was recorded in 97 on the Back From the Dead tour. Im not big on Live albums either but that album sounds great. LISTENABLE records reissued it on vinyl in 2018 if you can find a copy. Some of my other favorite live albums. Pantera - Live at Dynamo open air 1998 Corrosion of Conformity - Live Volume Alice in Chains - Unplugged Judas Priest - 98 live Meltdown (love the ripper era) Machine Head - Hellalive Ozzy - Live & Loud
I have Obituary Dead, it’s fantastic! To me they’re live sound is the closest to they’re studio sound I’ve ever heard! Your right about the live Priest stuff with Ripper, actually, both of those live albums are good. Thanks as always my friend 🤘
Some excellent choices. I would rank Unleashed in the East, Tokyo Tapes and Strangers in the Night amongst my favourite albums of all time. I don't class myself as a Saxon fan, although I have seen them live a few times. They always have my respect for the fact that I once went to see them at a small venue and the gig clashed with another, much higher profile one. I was one of 6 people in the audience. Saxon came out and gave it their all and this remains one of the best gigs that I have ever attended.
The smaller gigs I’ve went to over the years have always been the most fun, you know the ones where you hurt the next day … yeah those haha! Thanks as always 🤘 Cheers from Canada
For me there are so many amazing live albums (cds, dvds, etc) across genres, but I'll try to narrow it down to just three here. Metallica - Cunning Stunts: I think this is one of the greatest live album / dvds of all time. Probably my personal favorite at least! Despite being in Metallica's Load era, I think they were at the top of their game, they played a killer setlist, the cinematography, lighting, cuts, pyrotechnics and stunts all added so much to the show. The house lights on and a jam / So What to open up, a Kill/Ride medley later, it has everything you could ever want as a superfan. Also Metallica just sounds better live, Newsted's backing vocals add SO much heaviness and power. Slipknot - Disasterpieces: This was the band at their most raw and heavy, the complete performance on DVD with killer audio, mixing, camera work once again. Sid mooning the crowd, crowd surfing, climbing the scaffolding, going insane. Joey with the spinning drum setup. The entire band having mounted head cameras on their masks for a POV view. Perfect, brutal setlist... and it was snowing on them half the time, it's just evil looking. I cannot express how much I love this one, it's my second favorite of all time in the live category. Garth Brooks - Double Live, & Triple Live: These two albums both are amazing and I cannot pick between the two. Depends on if I want older more rough voiced Garth or younger more high pitched Garth. Tracklist is great as well, and as someone who grew up on Garth I can never get enough of these. The first two are DVDs that were only released as CDs during anniversary editions I believe. Or you just had to rip the DVD audio haha
Before i started to watch this i was disappointed for this to not have Kiss Alive and you started this with it! Great to see it included. Also two more very important metal live albums to me were included; Saxon The Eagle Has Landed and Judas Priest Unleashed in the East. I have all of these except for Raven and Accept. And i may even pick up Accept if it's anywhere near as good as the other legendary live album recorded and released in similar way; Ramones It's Alive, it's a killer album. Pasi
Even if you were only a casual Accept fan you would still really enjoy this album. KISS Alive was huge for me, never tire of hearing it! I don’t mind a little Ramones, I will check out that live album. Hope all is good your way 🤘 Cheers Pasi
I totally agree that some embellishments imo I can overlook and to be honest back in the day I probably couldn’t tell anyways 🤘Maiden and Priest I have and Maiden LAD is my number 1 of all time. Helloween live in the UK, WASP live in the Raw and Blind Guardian live beyond the Spheres are in my top 5🤘🤘
1. Exodus - Another Lesson In Violence 2. Motorhead - No Sleep Til Hammersmith 3. Neil Young - Live Rust 4. Judas Priest - Unleashed In The East 5. UFO - Strangers In The Night 6. Rory Gallagher - Stagestruck 7. Status Quo - Live 8. Y&T - Yesterday And Today - Live 9. AC/DC - If You Want Blood 10. Slayer - Decade Of Aggression
HAWKWIND-Live Chronicles,an amazing live album, they sound pretty much like a hard-rock band. I highly recommend this album. The Devin Townsend Project-Live at Plovdiv-a truly amazing experience! Arch Enemy-As The Stages Burn-an amazing live album! I also love Judas Priest "'Unleashed In The East"", Manowar ""Hell On Stage"",Thin Lizzy "'Live/Life"',Rush ""Exit Stage Left'',Ozzy's ""Tribute to Randy Rhoads '" is pretty amazing,Budgie "Live In San Antonio""is a good live abum.Alien Sex Fiend and their ""Too Much Acid?"" is probably the most insane live album I have ever listened to.
My first live album I heard was No Sleep til Hammersmith by Motörhead. My 2nd one was Judas Priest Unleashed in the East. Unfortunately both aren't double live albums. But the effect they had on me was special. My favorite live album though is Iron Maiden's Live after Death.
Great selection. I agree with most of them. 👍🏼 Maybe I’d put World Wide Live as my Scorpions choice, although it’s a close call and definitely ThinLizzy Life/Live from 1983 would be in there. Metallica Live Sh*t, Binge and Purge is superb too. 👍🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼😊
Believe me I had World Wide Live on my mind when I did this video, such a great live album. Maybe it’s time to do a part 2 lol. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, much appreciated 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
No order: Motorhead - No Sleep 'til Hammersmith The Tubes - What Do You Want From Live Saxon - The Eagle has Landed Jethro Tull - Bursting Out Utopia - Another Live Kansas - Two for the Show Whitesnake - Live in the Heart of the City Rainbow - On Stage Kiss - Alive Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From the Road
Great stuff Darcy. I do enjoy a good live album, and half of these would probably end up in my list as well. Did you pick up the Sabbath- Sabotage box set, in the end, mate? 🤘🍻
In no order(and including Punk) 1. Iron Maiden-Maiden England 2: Judas Priest-Unleashed in the East 3: Slayer-Live Undead 4: Motorhead-The Watcher live 1978 5: Bad Brains-The Youth Are Getting Restless 6: Agnostic Front- Last Warning 7: Sick Of It All-Live in a Dive 8: Budgie-Radio Session 74 & 78 9: Circle Jerks-Gig 10: Black Sabbath-Live Evil
Fantastic list. Great video. If you rate Strangers in the Night that highly you will also love UFO's Werewolves of London live album that came out when Schenker rejoined the band around 1998. It was just re-released. Strangers would also make my Top 10, but I've heard Werewolves hundreds of times and I rate it at least equal. And the guitar tone for Schenker on Werewolves is absolute perfection and the sound is perfect. The track Pushed to the Limit off it is could easily have been on Strangers, it was that good. I could babble on about nearly every other one you showed, but I will stop here. Oh gee, I have to add the song Burning off the Accept is an absolute 10/10. I can't say I'm an Accept fan [dohh], but THAT song is true rock perfection. I've seen them live twice, but they didn't play it, sighh.
The guitar tone on Werewolves is great, more grittier sound! Peter Baltes has joined U.D.O. as the full time bass player, two legends reunited! When they go out as Dirkschneider and play old Accept songs hopefully they play Burning 🔥 Just Like Fire!!
Speaking of Iron Maiden "Revelations" - song, in context of Live After Death - album, the track on CD/Vinyl is not from the same performance featured on the concert video (they performed several nights in row at Long Beach Arena). I remember the argument with my big brother who claimed I was hallucinating while I called him tone-deaf since he couldn't tell the difference (easiest difference to tell is the way Bruce was doing his "Yeah-yeah-yeah" pattern during the intro of the song).
Great video from Metalhead Darcy. Hi brother, I want to know what is your 10 favourite album cover. For example: 1. Overkill_Coverkill 2. Yngwie Malmsteen_Inspiration 3. Metallica_Garage Inc. .... More Maybe you can make the video in the future of this topic.
That’s a great idea! I’ll be back from holidays very soon, start planning out future videos. Thanks for hanging out with me & thank you for all the great comments 🤘 Tty soon
A pretty good list overall. Raven never quite did it for me but I never got to try the live album, so may dip in and see. Accept never had many memorable tunes for my taste.
so many choices... 1. Kiss - Alive II 2. Judas Priest - Unleashed in the East 3. UFO - Strangers in the Night 4. Cheap Trick - At Budokan 5. Ozzy Osbourne - Speak of the Devil 6. MC5 - Kick Out the Jams 7. Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous 8. AC/DC - If You Want Blood You've Got It 9. Rush - All the World's a Stage 10. Iron Maiden - Flight 666
Speak Of The Devil just about made this 10, great live album! To be honest I’m not the biggest Thin Lizzy fan, but maybe that’s the one I need to light a fire under my arse lol. Thanks as always my friend 🔥 Keep The Fire Burning!
For the most part I think you’re right! I have met a few younger fans that do “get it”, but it’s mostly old(er) guys like me lol. Thanks as always 🤘 Cheers Sean
So many I love good live albums I think they have an atmosphere. To name a few. AC-DC if you want blood Iron maiden Live after death although I prefer the flight 66. album now. Black Sabbath reunion. Megadeth that one night live. ZZ top live in texas. AC-DC live . Deep purple made in Japan sounds great but I hate the long doodling dragging out songs. Heaven and hell radio city
Live albums without the video just have zero appeal for me. They have no context. Only 2 albums live albums could I ever say I've really properly connected with and it was because it was the only things available to me at the time. In those instances the songs do the talking and you're greatful for anything. In many shows the adrenaline takes over and they rush through songs and on the Helloween Pumpkins alive I spotted around 5 occasions where Kiske was completely lost with his lines. At a show standing 30 feet away I can forgive all that. The idea of "supporting the band" also gets mentioned when people buy them. The thing is, when it's a half-arsed job (see lockdown live packages). Those were all bare mininum releases from what I've seen. That's more like abusing loyalty.
IMO the only live album that beats Life After Death is Live in Athens by Iced Earth. Never seen a band not just playing great but totally eclipsing what they have done in the studio in terms of audio output, energy and precision.
I have most of the Iced Earth studio albums, I really need to add that live one to my collection. Thanks for taking the time to watch & comment 🤘 Cheers from Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 no probs ma man, absolutely essential. Is like listening to your favourite Iced Earth tracks but on steroids in terms of sound.
Live Albums lost their relevance today i guess.... back then without RUclips or the Internet in general it was the only way to get a bit of that mystic live feel at home. Today i dont care for live Albums anymore, but im emotional attached to some old ones😉 01 iron maiden- live after death 02 Bad Brains- youth are getting restless 03 Motörhead- no sleep till hammersmith 04 Agnostic Front- live at cbgbs 05 Venom- Eine kleine Nachtmusik 06 Hot Water Music- live at the hardback 07 Black Sabbath- live evil 08 Judas Priest- Priest live the 2cd (yes, listen to so much extreme music... i prefer Pop priest) 09 Poison Idea- durch Courage 10 Destruction- live without sense In no particular order
@darcysixstringsninelives3493 No problem my friend. Its great when people talk about music I hate reaction channels, I don't want to see someone with headphones on nodding their head and normally interrupting or talking over not clever and not entertaining.
live after death is a weird one. the band performances are outstanding, but the vocals are awful, even with all the overdubs/repairs. bruce is out of breath, out of key and struggles to fit all the syllables into each line. still a classic, but if i was bruce, i would not be proud of this record. unleashed in the east is arguably the best live album ever recorded. even if all of halford's vocals were redone in a studio, the performances are outstanding. unleashed was basically released so the band would get publishing royalties for the sad wings material, which is why the bulk of the album is stuff from sad wings (which was a shit sounding record-the unleashed versions destroy the studio takes)
Conan live at freak valley double record Sleep live at Third Man Records (4 lps) Rush all the world is a stage Kiss alive High on fire spitting fire live (2 lp) Windhand live from elsewhere

Great list! Cheers Francis 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493🤘
Great stuff, Darcy! I’m right with you regarding UFO. I finally picked up “Strangers in the Night” a few years back. It definitely lives up to its reputation. Another one in that category for me is “Live and Dangerous” from Thin Lizzy. I’m not familiar with much of their catalog, but it’s a great live album!🍻🤘🏼
Awesome list my friend I also go with Kiss Alive! and U.F.O. Strangers in the night ! My other eight Albums are:
Manigance "Memoires...Live"
Dokken "Beast from the east"
Dirkschneider "Back to the roots-Accepted"
Sinner "In the line of fire....Live in Europe"
Dirty Looks "Cool from the Speedway"
Lynyrd Skynyrd "Last of the Street Survivors"
Enforcer "Live by fire"
Krokus "Adios Amigos" Live at Wacken
Greetings from Heiko
Along with 50 other titles we can easily think of 🤣
Ha ha I know what you mean! Might have to do a part 2 soon. Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
I think you nailed it! And like you said, Rush, Iron Maiden, Scorpions and Priest have more great live albums that are fantastic. Here are some other bands with great classic live albums from the 70’s and 80’s:
Deep Purple - Made In Japan
Thin Lizzy - Live And Dangerous
Ozzy - Tribute
Y&T - Open Fire
Morörhead - No Sleep ’Til Hammersmith
AC/DC - If You Want Blood You’ve Got It
Frank Marino/Mahogany Rush - Live
Pat Travers - Live! Go For What You Know
Rory Gallagher - Stage Struck
Take care!🤘
Great topic! Some of my favorites, in no particular order...
Great White - Great Zeppelin
Yngwie - Live in Leningrad
Scorpions - World Wide Live
Judas Priest - Priest Live
Dokken - Beast from the East
Europe - Live at Sweden Rock
Maiden - Live After Death
Halford - Live Insurrection
Oh yes Beast From The East is awesome, I’m quite sure you will see it in my next 10! I’m glad you mentioned Halford too, very good! Thanks as always 🤘 Cheers Jimmy
Glad to see Raven, such a good live album, some songs are longer with interesting soundscapes
Hi Darcy!! killer live albums, i think the 70 and early 80's were the best years for this type of releases, imo.....I still need to add to my collection that Accept live recording, it's really good and it almost reads like a greatest hits.
Saxon are a great live band, they might even have more live albums than Iron Maiden! Yes, I’m sure there will be a part 2 🤘 Cheers GRock
Iced Earth- Alive In Athens is my #1
Others that I love:
Judas Priest- Live ‘98 Meltdown
Iron Maiden- Rock In Rio
Evergrey- A Night to Remember
Nightwish- Showtime Storytime
Mötley Crüe- Carnival of Sins
Metallica- Live Shit (Mexico City)
Dokken- Beast From the East
Made In Japan , Deep Purple
Live In the Heart of the City , Whitesnake.
Every one of these are in my collection, top 3:
Iron Maiden - Live After Death
Accept - Staying A Life
Scorpions - World Wide Live
🤘Cheers🍺

Strangers in the Night~UFO
Live and Dangerous~Thin Lizzy
Exit Stage Left~Rush
One More From the Road~Lynryd Skynyrd
Double Live Gonzo~Ted Nugent
Honorable Mention: Live Bootleg~Aerosmith
I could easily come up with another 15 or 20 that have been released in the years since but, I'll save that for another day ;^)
Great choices my friend!
Also it’s Saturday not Friday, do you have a note pad or something, you should write this shit down 😂🤣
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Maybe I should write it all down, this week´s confusing, I´ll be on three livestreams... damn!!!
Ohh , Im unaware of king daimond live stuff , Ill listen to them to tonight!!!!!
Great picks Mark! Not surprised at your #1 ⚡️ Thanks for sharing your list
Thanks Darcy, my poker : UFO "Strangers" - Gallagher "Stages" - Purple "Made in Japan" - Lizzy "live & Dangerous"
Your always welcome 🤘 Thanks for sharing a few of your favourites :))
Ya know it!…Luv the YT Channel, Keep Up The Great Work…We’re bonded by impeccable taste in rock music!
Forgot Ozzy Tribute!!!!
Oh yeah that Death Angel is great, can’t stand Lamb Of God, his voice puts me in an instant bad mood lol. Cheers Josh 🤘
Pantera - Live at Dynamo open air 1998
Corrosion of Conformity - Live Volume
Alice in Chains - Unplugged
Judas Priest - 98 live Meltdown (love the ripper era)
Machine Head - Hellalive
Ozzy - Live & Loud
Forgot , AC/DC , If you want Blood etc.
Free, Live .
Aerosmith , Live Bootleg.
Unforgivable on my part and will hang my head in shame.
All the Best.
For me there are so many amazing live albums (cds, dvds, etc) across genres, but I'll try to narrow it down to just three here.
Metallica - Cunning Stunts:
I think this is one of the greatest live album / dvds of all time.
Slipknot - Disasterpieces:
This was the band at their most raw and heavy, the complete performance on DVD with killer audio, mixing, camera work once again.
Great stuff Darcy! Live After Death is the best album cover ever! 🤘🏻
I won’t argue that 🤘
I totally agree that some embellishments imo I can overlook and to be honest back in the day I probably couldn’t tell anyways 🤘Maiden and Priest I have and Maiden LAD is my number 1 of all time. Helloween live in the UK, WASP live in the Raw and Blind Guardian live beyond the Spheres are in my top 5🤘🤘
1. Exodus - Another Lesson In Violence
2. Motorhead - No Sleep Til Hammersmith
3. Neil Young - Live Rust
4. Judas Priest - Unleashed In The East
5. UFO - Strangers In The Night
6. Rory Gallagher - Stagestruck
7. Status Quo - Live
8. Y&T - Yesterday And Today - Live
9. AC/DC - If You Want Blood
10. Slayer - Decade Of Aggression
I can't argue with any of those picks. All great. However, I must admit, I've never heard Tokyo Tapes. I will have to track it down.
Maybe I’d put World Wide Live as my Scorpions choice, although it’s a close call and definitely ThinLizzy Life/Live from 1983 would be in there.
No order:
Motorhead - No Sleep 'til Hammersmith
The Tubes - What Do You Want From Live
Saxon - The Eagle has Landed
Jethro Tull - Bursting Out
Utopia - Another Live
Kansas - Two for the Show
Whitesnake - Live in the Heart of the City
Rainbow - On Stage
Kiss - Alive
Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From the Road
Great stuff Darcy. I do enjoy a good live album, and half of these would probably end up in my list as well. Did you pick up the Sabbath- Sabotage box set, in the end, mate? 🤘🍻
Not yet! Trying to pick my battles, no need to get myself kicked out of the house 😂 Cheers John
I don’t think I ever knew that, that’s a great observation. Ty I’m going to check that out today 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Live After Death and Kiss Alive definitely 1 and 2
Great choices Ronnie 🤘
Great video from Metalhead Darcy.
Hi brother, I want to know what is your 10 favourite album cover. For example:
1. Overkill_Coverkill
2. Yngwie Malmsteen_Inspiration
3. Metallica_Garage Inc.

Absolute perfection! “Come on Osaka put your hands in the air”. Thanks for watching 🤘 Stay Heavy ~ Darcy
A pretty good list overall. Raven never quite did it for me but I never got to try the live album, so may dip in and see. Accept never had many memorable tunes for my taste.
so many choices...
1. Kiss - Alive II
2. Judas Priest - Unleashed in the East
3. UFO - Strangers in the Night
4. Cheap Trick - At Budokan
5. Ozzy Osbourne - Speak of the Devil
6. MC5 - Kick Out the Jams
7. Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous
8. AC/DC - If You Want Blood You've Got It
9. Rush - All the World's a Stage

You have to be born in the 60s or 70s to like live albums. Younger folks don't get it
For the most part I think you’re right! I have met a few younger fans that do “get it”, but it’s mostly old(er) guys like me lol. Thanks as always 🤘 Cheers Sean
So many I love good live albums I think they have an atmosphere. To name a few.
AC-DC if you want blood
Iron maiden Live after death although I prefer the flight 66.
😂 👌
Today i dont care for live Albums anymore, but im emotional attached to some old ones😉
01 iron maiden- live after death
02 Bad Brains- youth are getting restless
03 Motörhead- no sleep till hammersmith
04 Agnostic Front- live at cbgbs

@darcysixstringsninelives3493 No problem my friend.
Its great when people talk about music I hate reaction channels, I don't want to see someone with headphones on nodding their head and normally interrupting or talking over not clever and not entertaining.
I know what you mean, or somebody that’s reading directly off Wikipedia 😂 that’s not entertaining either, do they think people don’t know haha!
Kiss alive one
live after death is a weird one. the band performances are outstanding, but the vocals are awful, even with all the overdubs/repairs. bruce is out of breath, out of key and struggles to fit all the syllables into each line. still a classic, but if i was bruce, i would not be proud of this record. unleashed in the east is arguably the best live album ever recorded. even if all of halford's vocals were redone in a studio, the performances are outstanding. unleashed was basically released so the band would get publishing royalties for the sad wings material, which is why the bulk of the album is stuff from sad wings (which was a shit sounding record-the unleashed versions destroy the studio takes)
That’s why I prefer Flight 666 over Live After Death, because the vocals are top notch, and it’s most of the same songs.
@@Rikrik1138 yeah, it's a toss up.....the band was way better on LAD, though
Conan live at freak valley double record
