- When I sketched this weddingcake for a sweet couple, I couldn’t wait to make the cake for them! I was excited about the combination of the woodgrain & chalkboard with the greyish blue layer and the semi-wreath with black & white flowers… I knew it would be a unique one, so I just had to make a tutorial for you guys! Your cakes are just awesome!! You are the best,no doubt about it!! I want to ask you something, can I cover with fondant a cake previously frosted with swiss meringue buttercream? That's the frosting I use, because I found a receipt i love and it's super good to pipe flowers and works well to frost cakes! I don't cover cakes with fondant, usually I just do decorations with it, because I haven't been able to do it, it doesn't work. Thank you for your sweet message and compliments 😄😄😄! I use Swiss Meringue Buttercream on all my cakes aswell and it works perfectly with fondant - so definitely give it a go. If your fondant breaks, try switching to another brand, not all of them are equally elastic. I like Massa Ticino, but it is on the pricey side. Panelling should work with any fondant 😉

Hahaha... I clean up in between. After every task, just a little wipe down of the surface and I keep a small basket for tools I might still use so they won't wander around 😁
How do you keep the edges of your cake sharp with buttercream? My cakes always warps if I don’t use ganache.
You have to chill it long enough so the buttercream is totally set. It won't misshape then :). I use Swiss Meringue Buttercream for all my cakes.

Thank you :)! I make the buttercream on the day I fill the cakes :). I do weigh all the ingredients the day before, so I can start immediately ;)
